Iizawa Tadasu, born Iizawa Tadasu (伊澤紀) in Wakayama, Japan, was a Japanese playwright, director, and novelist. He graduated from the Tokyo Higher Normal School's affiliated elementary school in 1922 and entered Musashi High School (武蔵高等学校) that same year. However, he struggled with mathematics, repeated a grade, and was later hospitalized in a sanatorium from 1925 to 1926 due to illness. In 1928, he dropped out of Musashi High School and enrolled in the Bunkagakuin Art Department (文化学院美術科), graduating in 1932.

He began his career as a playwright with the debut play "Fujiwara Kakka no Enbofuku" (藤原閣下の燕尾服) in 1932, while studying and participating in the Théâtre Comédie. He joined the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun Company (東京朝日新聞社) in 1933. After World War II, Iizawa served as the editor-in-chief of Fujin Asahi (婦人朝日) and Asahi Graph (アサヒグラフ) until his retirement in 1954. He also became the first director of the Iwasaki Chihiro Picture Book Museum (いわさきちひろ絵本美術館).

Iizawa was the second son of Iizawa Takio (伊澤多喜男), a bureaucratic politician, and his maternal grandfather, Irokawa Saburobee (色川三郎兵衛), was a member of the House of Representatives. His paternal uncle, Iizawa Shuji (伊澤修二), was known for his work in stuttering correction education.
