In April 1990, she retired from acting and gained experience in AV production management, then went to the United States for language studies. She returned to Japan in June 1991, and established her own office called "Office Erie" at her home, with all startup funds provided by her earnings from her AV career.
With a strong business mindset, she also ventured into a new type of telephone club business where clients could enjoy TV calls with actresses and ordinary women affiliated with her agency. In September, she opened a tanning salon called "Lahaina" in Sangenjaya, Setagaya-ku, but in the same year, she disposed of her personal assets and traveled to the United States again for language study and to study nail art, a period that lasted for two years.
Upon her return to Japan in 1995, she opened a nail salon in Shibuya and also ventured into the apparel industry, but both ventures faced financial difficulties and ended in failure.
Although she had been touring Japan as a stripper, on October 15, 1997, she was arrested by the Kawasaki Police Station in Kanagawa Prefecture on charges of violating the Cannabis Control Law, after they had been conducting an investigation and raided her dressing room on the final day of her performance at the Kawasaki Rock-Za.
