He made his debut in September 2017 as IM's main dancer, vocalist and visual with their first digital single, "Sad Story". The group was supposed to have 10 members, but only 4 debuted in their first sub-unit, IM66. The agency, MBK Entertainment (MBK엔터테인먼트) was not able to promote the group correctly.
He then appeared in the survival show "Produce X 101" where he finished in 7th place and secured a spot in the show's project group.
He re-debuted in August 2019 as X1's main dancer and lead vocalist with their first mini-album, "Emergency: Quantum Leap" under Swing Entertainment (스윙 엔터테인먼트). Initially, the group had a 5-year contract. However, the vote manipulation scandal at MNet led to an investigation. They were forced to halt their activities, and after an unsuccessful negotiation about their future with Swing Entertainment and the members' individual agencies, they disbanded in January 2020.
He then joined groupmate Nam Do Hyun and debuted as duo H&D with the release of their mini-album, "Soulmate", in April 2020.
In November 2020, PocketDol Studio (포켓돌스튜디오) decided to launch another group and he became BAE173's main dancer and vocalist. The group debuted with their mini-album, "Intersection: Spark". He became the group's leader in April 2022 after Park Jun Seo decided to step down from the role.
As the group has not been able to promote as much, the agency allows him to participate in survival shows.
