Dawn
- Name: Dawn
- Native name: 던
- Also Known as: E'Dawn, 김효종
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: June 1, 1994
- Age: 30
He participated in Mnet's survival show "Pentagon Maker" but was not chosen as one of the original 7 members of the new boy group to be managed by CUBE Entertainment (큐브엔터테인먼트). However, weeks before debuting, the company decided to add the 3 eliminated members to the lineup.
He made his debut (using the stage name E'Dawn) in October 2016 as PENTAGON's main dancer, lead rapper and sub-vocalist with their self-titled debut EP.
In May 2017, he joined bandmate Hui and labelmate HyunA and formed TRIPLE H. The trio released their first mini-album "199X" but, after his and HyunA's departure from the label, they disbanded in early 2018.
In August 2018, he and HyunA announced they had been dating since May 2016. Two weeks later, CUBE Entertainment halted all his promotional activities and forced him on an indefinite hiatus. In September 2018, he and HyunA were expelled from the agency and his official departure from the group and CUBE was confirmed in November of that year.
He joined PSY‘s new label, P NATION, in January 2019 and made his solo debut (now using the stage name Dawn) in November 2019 with the digital single "Money". In August 2022, he left the company after he decided not to renew his contract.
He ended his relationship with HyunA in November 2022.
In January 2023, he signed with hip hop label AT AREA (앳에어리어), founded by producing duo GroovyRoom and released his second EP, “Narcissus”, in September.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service as a public service worker on October 12, 2023, and is expected to be discharged on July 11, 2025.
