Since the second year of junior high, he worked incognito and studied in the factory of his family business during every summer and winter vacations. He worked with the workers, trying all stages of works and obtaining employment certificate for each work. The part time work experience continued until he was in his second year of university. In the same year, he became the manager of Juli Group in Shanghai. He graduated with an MBA from Peking University.
In 2005, he came into contact with filming by chance and co-starred in the movie "Blue and White". Yang, a nonprofessional actor, played three roles with different personalities across different time and space in the film, and won the Best Newcomer Award at the 12th College Student Film Festival 2006. He has since then played major roles in several movies and TV series. In 2008, his TV series "Fairy Couple" won the annual viewing champion of CCTV TV series channel. He later went on to successively invested and produced film and TV works such as "New Water Margin", "Article 22 of Marriage Regulations" and "I'm Waiting for You in Xilin Gol". In 2011, his film "Legend of the White Snake" was released in China for three weeks, achieving a box office of over 200 million, and won the Best Contribution Award at the Barcelona Film Festival in Spain. In 2012, the literary film "Women Like Flowers" starring him won the Best Film Award at the 7th Monaco International Film Festival.
In August 2011, Yang founded the "Dzi Legend" focusing on Tibetan aesthetics and holy ornaments brand operation. In October, Yang and Yu Dong served as the producers.
At the end of September 2016, Yang edited the "Tibetan Buddhist Culture and Art Series, "Tibetan Dansati Monastery History Research", which won the 2016 National Cultural Heritage Excellent Book Award. In 2017, he began to focus more on the collection industry, and his collections include many categories such as Buddha statues, thangkas, dzi beads, Tiantie, Tibetan seals and Taoist themes. In February, he reviewed his ten years of development in the film and TV culture circle and released his "New Five-Year Plan".
His first marriage to Tao Hong ended in 2004. They have a daughter Yang Hai Run. In 2007, he married his "Fairy Couple" co-star Huang Sheng Yi. Their first son was born in 2012, and the second son arrived in 2017. Edit Biography
