Li Xiao Yu, also known as Michelle Li is a Chinese singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Lanzhou, Gansu, China, she moved to Australia at 15 years old. At the Sydney Opera House in 2011, the title of "Australia's Top Ten Outstanding Chinese Youth" was presented to her at the age of 24. She inherited her interest and talent in music from her late father, who sparked her musical interest by gifting her an old guitar when she was young. Michelle can play guitar and piano masterfully regardless of never receiving professional training. She can also play the harmonica, violin, electronic organ, and the drums. She writes many of her songs, priding herself on incorporating her personal experiences and feelings into her music.
