After graduating from The 5th Commercial High School in Tokyo, he joined the theater company Bungakuza after working at the Bungakuza Theater Research Institute. He has appeared in a wide range of TV dramas and movies in parallel with stage activities.
After leaving Bungakuza in 1996, he has also been active as a stage director.
He died of heart failure on January 9, 2019, at a hospital in Minato-ku, Tokyo. He died 71 years old. Edit Biography
