In 1927, "Sky" won 2nd place in the 1st Mandolin Orchestra Composition Competition sponsored by "Orchestra Symphonica Takei" and "Hokusho."
During and after the war, he worked on numerous film scores and popular songs, including Kurosawa Akira's "Sugata Sanshiro," and moved away from the mandolin music world. However, he returned to the mandolin world around 1966 and composed numerous mandolin orchestra songs in the decade leading up to his death.
