Kato Bin was a Japanese film director, screenwriter, and horse racing commentator born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Ichikawa Asataro, who turned from a Kabuki actor to a movie actor, is his older brother.

He dropped out of the Kansai Engineering College and became a reporter while aspiring to be a playwright. Watching the movie "Our Neighbor Miss Yae" (1934), he changed his aspirations to become a movie director.

After the war, he belonged to Daiei Kyoto Studio.

He died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 75 on July 27, 1982, at a hospital in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. He has one son and one daughter. Edit Biography
