Oyama Katsukiyo

After graduating from Kumamoto Prefectural Kamoto Junior High School, he became a student of Sakai Toshihiko in 1918. After that, he studied under Yanagita Kunio through the labor movement and the peasant movement and became interested in folklore. He created children's literature and made his debut in "Shonen CLub" with "Hikoichi Tonchi Banashi". He won the Shogakukan Children's Culture Award for "Yamainu Shonen" in 1956.
He returned home in his later years and died in 1965 in Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Edit Biography
