Born in Hyogo prefecture. He started writing film criticism, while attending the University of Tokyo, and became a regular author of the magazine "Film Criticism". Later on, he become planner, director and producer. He was also a writer, using pen name Tatsuo Nogami . In TV, he was in charge of Toshiba Sunday Theater (東芝日曜劇場), which still running to this day. Still, he's mostly known from his movie, e.g. "Tales of the Taira Clan". Edit Biography
