He debuted in 2009 with the short Fetus Moon, which he edited himself, as he did with his next film, The Collage (2009), for which he also wrote the screenplay. He has collaborated on various films as director of photography, including The Terrorists by Thunska Pansittivorakul, which was presented at numerous international festivals, including the 2011 Torino Film Festival. Mother (2012) is his first feature film.
Ruetaivanichkul is one of the producers of Ron Howard's "Thirteen Lives", a film based on the real-life cave rescue of a boys soccer team in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
