Bits and pieces of old kdramas combined together
I like how the drama started with a messed up marriage and showed story of a couple who have fallen out of love and their journey to rediscovering their love. It was going good till episode 7, after that it become like a complete different story. All the focus was shifted on the queen’s group family being broke and falling in the trap laid by the villains. And how easily the villains got everything they wanted and even kicked the family out of the house. It’s was bit unrealistic how a business tycoon family had nowhere to go.And in the midst of all this villain drama the main issue was left unaddressed. What about the martial issues that brought the lead couple at this point? Why hae in and hyun woo hated each other that much at the beginning of the show? The answers were vague. I wish the focus of the show was on addressing their martial issues and rekindling their love and not on the unnecessary villain drama.
If the story had only focused on hae in’s illness and their troubled marriage. It would have been alot better.

Why didn’t i watch it before
I saw startup on my Netflix recommendation list many times but i ignored it. Finally when I was tired of watching similar stories and craved to watch something fresh, startup came to my rescue. I had thought it might be an office romance story filled with cliches but to my surprise, 1st episode blew my mind. I couldn’t have guessed who the hero would turn out to be,it was surprisingly good. The writer’s attention to detail by giving us deepper understanding of the characters is what i loved about the show. Every character has a backstory which helps us understand them and their actions. Even the supporting characters were not random and perfectly connected with the story.
The love triangle that divides the watchers: On one hand i feel for Ms Han aka THE GOOD BOY and wanted him to find happiness but on the other hand, i could relate to Nam-do-san’s character who was filled with self doubt . But it was somewhat clear that dalmi has fallen for Nam-do-san when they got into sandbox and became a team. Mr Han had lost his chance there and there was no turning back from that point. And do-san earned his place in dalmi’s heart,it wasn’t random at all yet writer still dragged the “guy from the letters” plot till the end. That’s when I felt truly bad for Mr Han as he was fighting a lost battle.
Dal mi although started as a damsel in distress(which I absolutely hate) but slowly gained stability. She could’ve been written better as she was hella confused character.
Supporting characters were adorable, Grandma was the star of the show and samsam tech boys are a trio to be remembered for sure. I am glad the writer showed us long lasting friendships.
I wish we had seen more of injae, she was ignored by the writers considering she was the 2nd main female lead. But all’s well that ends well atleast the misunderstanding between the sisters was cleared..
I really enjoyed, one of the few kdramas that has original plot and doesn’t follow on the footsteps of overused tropes. Also the rating of this show is unfair and misleading, this easily deserves an 8.5-8.8

Amazing concept ruined by same old k-drama cliches
I am giving this show an early review because I am not sure whether i will continue watching it or not. Yes! I am on the edge because sometimes it’s funny and sometimes it’s soo lame that I can’t watch another minute of it. I read some reviews to understand what the problem might be! And no, the problem is not repetition in scenes and dialogues. Majority of the repetitive scenes occurred in the early episodes yet i still enjoyed them. The problem seems to be with the main lead couple’s chemistry and their backstory. For me the driving force to keep watching a show is the lead couple, I didn’t feel much chemistry between the lead couple and they fell in love way too quickly. I couldn’t understand exactly at what point it happened that they are mad for each other!! The 2nd lead characters love triangle was more interesting to watch than the main couple.
And haru was such a weak character,he didn’t give off main lead vibes as he had no character development, his character was living off of past memories, which turned lame. I don’t understand why there is a past connection in a comic story. Was that necessary ?? Why can’t k-drama writers move past this overused past connection trope? Every unique concept is ruined by this same old trope.
Also kyung was soo aggressive. It automatically made me angry seeing him on screen. Why was he throwing things in every episode! He had serious issues. Do hwa was the best character. He should’ve been the male lead. He was such a cutie and he looked good with the FL.
