An enjoyable show until the last two episodes
I really enjoyed watching this show. Sure, it had a number of silly K-drama cliches and tropes but they all do. It had a cutesy story and I liked the chemistry between the male and female leads. The fact the mom from the rich family didn't do the usual "here's ten bucks, stop seeing my kid" was refreshing. It's the usual rich-guy meets "poor"-girl story and hilarity that ensues from the whole opposites attract thing. We learn through various story bits that Sun Gyoel's grandpa was not that nice of a guy, especially when it comes to his business dealings, which is why Sun Gyeol has, at best, a frosty relationship with him. The grandfather also had something to do with a tragedy in Oh Sol's life. So, of course, we all know what's going to happen,.And happen it does in episode 15 with the ol' "We can't be together because someone you're related to did something to me/my family, even though you have absolutely nothing to do with it" cliche. The fact that Sun Gyeol and his grandpa don't get along (and never really have) makes the crappy way Oh Sol and her family treat him when they find out even more maddening. He didn't deserve that treatment they gave him when they found out who his grandpa was. He didn't deserve not being told what he had done wrong to warrant the treatment he got from them (he didn't do anything wrong). He didn't deserve the cold shoulder he got from her when he went back to Korea after a trip to the US to get some help. She didn't deserve getting with him at the end. There is no way they should've gotten together after the way she and her family treated him.
The final two episodes ruined what was a nice, cheesy, and entertaining show. The first fourteen episodes were enjoyable, for the most part, but I can't recommend the show because of how terribly it ended.

A good but infuriating show
Starting off, I really likes the show. Yeah, it's cliche a d such but most dramas are. Its cast and such made it worth watching. However, once the villains started started doing their thing, it became mode infuriating. Their machinations were just way too perfect. They had an answer for everything. An important plot point was being talked about, someone who shouldn't hear ot ALWAYS does. Something can be done to help the hero/heroine? Nah, the most competent villains ever have already figured it out. "I'll trust the first person I aee?' Of course it means the greatest mastermind in Korean srama history will be there thanka to yet another wonderful scheme he waa able to dream up. Its tiring and maddening. And since the show is almost over with, I hate myself for wanting to see it reach its conclusion..And there's also a small amnesia subplot, because of course there is.Ranting aside, I would recommend watching it. I do like the main couple and even some of the side characters. I'll never watch it again but I so think its worth giving a chance.

Typical drama. Nothing new and exciting but fairly entertaining
This is your typical high school, er college, drama. A lot of silly fights, misunderstandings, etc. I've seen better but I've definitely seen worse. I was entertained by it so it was good for something, I suppose! I'm giving the cast a 10 because I think the actress who plays her friend Yiyi (I think that's her name) is absolutely gorgeous. The rest of the show is watchable. I have to come up with some more to say to make this hit five hundred characters but can't think of anything else. Hopefully this will do that truck and I can post it.Was this review helpful to you?
About as subtle as shotgun blast to the face
I don't get the appeal of shows like this. Only a glutton for punishment could want to watch 50+ episodes of a person getting crapped on time after time after time after after time after time after time after time after time. The evil mother character needed to have a long mustache like Snidley Whiplash that she could roll around in her fingertips while thinking of the next scheme to make poor Gao Jie's life a living hell. These dramas always have over-the-top villains but this one took it to a stupidly ridiculous extreme.EDIT: Ok, so I'm a glutton for punishment. I had to see how this crazy show ended. I ended up skipping some of it because, while it did get better, the "LOOK AT HOW EVIL THE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER CHARACTERS ARE" bit was still pretty tiresome. I still didn't like it but it did get better.

Don't waste your time
I think the only reason I watch these various remakes is because I want to see how different the stories are from each other. It can't be because I enjoy them. I honestly don't. For the life of me, I will never understand how people find this particular story, in any of its incarnations, cute or endearing. A girl with pitiful self-esteem falls in love with a guy who treats her indifferently, at best. His little brother dumps all over her, too, and the parents don't seem to mind how he treats her, even though the mom is obsessed with having her as a daughter-in-law. Her male friend is a borderline stalker who thinks he is owed her love, regardless of what she tells him. The only character that seems to be worthwhile is her dad.Was this review helpful to you?
Not sure I can finish this one
I'm a almost halfway through this show and I'm not sure I can watch much more of it. The main reason I'm feeling the urge to drop it is just how stupid the older sister is. Her stupidity in letting her boyfriend get away with doing the things he does and then taking the blame for most, if not all, of it it is ridiculous. It's a shame because I think the other parts of the show are fairly enjoyable but the rampant stupidity of the older sister is really frustrating to me. I will see if it gets any better before I decided this show's fate but unless it does a 360, I will not be finishing it.Was this review helpful to you?
