it isnt as bad as what other reviews said

maybe because mandarin is a language i speak almost everyday and I ve watched plenty of Chinese and korean dramas, but I don't find the plot confusing or messy. Yes, you have to understand what they are saying and honestly, subtitles don't seem to do the show justice. Basically, its about a girl who travelled to the present from 10 years ago [2011] due to a super full moon energy wave after her boyfriend pushes her from a cliff [not a spoiler] because of some secrets she know. in the present [2021], she met the male lead as the universe tied them together and they discovered all the secrets [she lost her memory as she travelled here] like who set a trap and conned his father etc midst of this main story line, there's someone using her for scientific research and they made her return back to time [2011] which allowed her discover more secrets. i wont speak more about the plot but its worth to watch if you like mystery solving! i will update this review when the last 6 episodes uploads :D

EDIT: COMPLETED
FREAKING WORTH TO WATCH, I CRIED MY ASS OUT. THE ENDING IS SO BAD BUT SO GOOD PLEASE WATCH JUST FOR THE SAKE OF THE ENDING. EP 18-24 IS WHERE SHIT STARTS, WHERE IT GETS REAL AND SO SAD 10/10

Awesome ?

Okay so i bet everyone has noticed in ep1 that this isnt a continuation of S1 HOWEVER,

Yes its a different plot for the villains but the main 3 couples (Ling boss, wen li and chuyan) still have the small little details from season 1. Like the drunk driving, contract marriage, pi dan (doggo), the swimming pool thing and all the other small little things.
From this drama, it is super obvious that their chemistry is way better than season 1 and that this season is as funny or even slightly funnier than season 1. the ONLY thing that is lacking is the plot for the bad guys. Jiang jie did almost nothing but childish acts to destroy ling yi zhou via xialin and soon enough shes out of the game. then fu weining... all he does is says that the weather is hot 24/7 and ends up locking them in a cooler warehouse.. and end of story for the bad guys. Unlike season 1 where the little girl and the half brother of ling yi zhou scheming with xialin's new assistant, season 2 is just 2 people tryna destroy them and almost passing the 'bad guy' plot..
Anyways, the theme song is the same. Only 1 or 2 songs are introduced in season 2 and the ending is short but satisfying.
Worth the watch, most likely gonna watch again!

Fresh and a unique plot!

I was lucky enough to be able to catch the movie premiere of this show in my country, I've just gotten home, opened up my computer and here I am.
[Alert: The movie has quite a few sexual references [7/10 spicy] so do take note!]
Summary:
FUNNY, CUTE, LOVELY, AND A TEAR JERKER. WORTH THE WATCH! AND IM GONNA WATCH IT AGAIN KEKE

PS: These scene description are not considered as spoilers. Its just briefly how the movie starts and how it will start developing

This is the MOST unique and newest storyline I have ever watched! There are ML, FL [Pinky] and FL [XiaoMi/XM]. Before death, ML and XM were the best of friends for years and yay they got into a relationship, and engaged just for a short while before his death. When he was down in the underworld, and after some "You're Dead" process, he decided to be tested to be the God of Love, Yue Lao [an actual god in history and also the chinese name of the movie] and ding ding ding, he passed! And shockers! His partner is Pinky! I wont talk about their past or the major spoilers but wow if I wasnt watching the movie with my mum, I WOULD BE BAWLING!! The romance line was SUPER WELL WRITTEN!! Visual Effects were done SO WELL that they won an award at the Golden Horse Film Awards alongside with other segments. I can't describe much about the movie because theres content and new information every minute and of course it wasn't draggy at all, it grabbed your attention every second and every minute. Other than the romance line, there's a evil plot as well but again, it isnt like what we expect, not your typical stupid revenge plot. Really worth the watch!! Even the after credits scenes were like "OH WHAT?" I am definitely going back to the cinema for this movie soon after its public screening! 10/10 superb!

shut up, dont think about it and GO WATCH

it has been a hot minute since im done with the drama
THIS. THIS IS BETTER THAN AT LEAST 40% OF K DRAMAS AND THE BEST C DRAMA IVE EVER WATCHED
1. GET YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT
2. THERES ROMANCE
3. ITS JUST SO GOOD

the synopsis helps explain everything without much spoilers and i tell you, no synopsis will do true justice to the drama. its just 15 episodes, 45 minutes each, even if you dont think its good at the end which i dont know why you would think that way, at least not much of your time is 'wasted'

OST not my type
chemistry is RIGHT THERE
super heartwarming. every character in the bus has a story behind, except for the internet celeb and the macho guy who was honestly useless :/

i just wish wang meng meng was able to tell her parents a thing or two in a way or another. i wished that her truth would have come out earlier so all these ordeal wouldnt happen. but legit a 100/10 drama, i will surely rewatch it. this drama is the first drama to make me scream and shout out of thrill and suspense. real good. im buying the novel like RIGHT NOW

fyi i watched without eng subs because chinese is my mother tongue, i dont think english subs would do that much of justice to the show as well. BTW there are like SHIT SHIT ton of easter eggs in the show! leave a comment on this review and i will perhaps share more that i know.

one that everyone should know is that wang meng meng and the FL are almost identical
1. they are wearing blue tops/outfits
2. have almost identical if not the same bag with the same keychains and pins
3. they both go to the same school
4. wang meng meng's mother taught at FL's high school
there are more similarities i just cant remember!

please go watch the show, it made me cried out of suspense and relief, no show has ever done that!
<3

argh, so heartwarming <3

ZSC = Zhou Sheng Chen || SY = Shi Yi

"Beauty both inside out is something that rarely exists. One can be beautiful inside, but might not be beautiful outside. One can be beautiful outside, but terrible on the inside. Most people in the world have shallow eyes, they only see the outside and not the inside.","美人骨,世间罕见。有骨者,而未有皮,有皮者,而未有骨。世人大多眼孔浅显,只见皮相,未见骨相"

well, this is the second part of One and Only. It brings both ZSC and SY back together again in the modern world after their heartwrenching love in the past. Unfortunately, the show is only 10% linked to the previous season. Mostly, the show is prefacing how they make up for the love they couldn't have in the past. SY in the last life said "ZSC, if there's a next life, you must marry me first" and in this life, he did. There are many easter eggs in this show and a lot of flashbacks which hurts mi little heart :<
Now let's just talk about the story. The story is about ZSC and SY reuniting in this life again with lots of ups and downs, family's rejections, mismatch of timings etc. This show I would say is a little less 'thrilling' than the previous. Or at least near the end of the show where things spice up and your emotions really gets wrecked over.

The chemistry/love between the two characters are lovely, sometimes awkward because of how ZSC is like
but off-screen, the two actors are the total opposite of what their characters are, so it is very alarming and impressive that they could act totally different personalities of characters!

As for OST, most of them are reused but these 3 are my total FAVS!! Zhang Bi Chen - As it is, Cheng Xiang - Shi Guang Hong Liu, Mao Bu Yi - Give You Give Me

I ended up buying the actual novel and I will be reading it once it arrives!
PS. Check out my review on One and Only! keke

//EASTER EGGS! SPOILER

- Shi Yi is surnamed Shi and named Yi, because before she jumped, she begs to be removed from the Cui family tree and to drop her surname as she felt that she has disgraced the family.
- In some episodes [specifically the first few eps], the scenes at ShiYi's office, there are chalk drawings of CUI ShiYi touching ZSC nose bridge in the first season!
- Hong Xiao Yu [different Chinese characters but spells out the same name!] is still Shi Yi's best friend across the two lives!
-Mei Xing is actually ZiXing from the past life[the evil prince in the first season] and now he is ZSC best buddy!
- SY had a speaking disorder in her first life so she became a voice actor in her second life <3
- This is pretty obvious, but in both lives, the couple wrote the poem[上林武] together in the library
- Modern life SY hates RED, and loves PALE GREEN! Why? In her past life, she wore pale green to worship her master [ZSC] and wore red during her last moments.

this show is a korean spin off to this under the same english name
i found all full episodes but without subs, but because my second language is chinese so im fine so here's the link
https://www.olevod.com/?m=vod-play-id-10185-src-1-num-6.html
the casts are all super smart and some are just there for entertainment purpose but they are still of use!
im currently on the 4th storyline, the alien one. so far the creepiest episode will have to be episode 1.. where the dogs and cats are turned into beef and mutton ;-; like thats just fked up and props to the people behind the scenes. the mmost amazing set up would be the school episode, LIKE HOW DID THEY TURN AN ABANDON SCHOOL INTO AN ESCAPE BUILDING like its impossible to built a building just for a variety show so they must have make use of a real abandoned building. so really the crew did alot! did you guys also watch the 大神逃脱?where another group of 6 people went in before the actual cast in order to test the escape room, and i have to say there are alot of changes for the actual cast after it is being tested.

I love the ending

It has been long since a show put me to tears due to its wholesome ending.
The ending frame is so good, i cant help but cry.
They two have been through so much and from 24-26 is the saddest part of all especially 24 or 25 i forgot, someone dear to us passed away and i just started bawling.

Story: 10/10
I love the development especially towards the end where everything unfolds at such a good pace and in an appropriate way
The starting to middle [Before start of part 2] was great as well. Starting from part 2, we werent able to see the happy go lucky CSS but instead in part 2 she became more sensible and knowing how to care for her elders and i love that character development the most. The scene where CSS closed herself up for 5 years and receiving news that everyone in her family got engaged and married was such a good but heart wrenching scene. From being the first to be married and then the last to do so [Or maybe the second last] I love the story line, everything except the politics side and the war and villains.

Cast 10/10
I dont have to say much, the BTS speaks for itself.

Music:
There werent much tracks but the background music tracks made up for it and they were very fitting

Rewatch Value:
Honestly, i would if i had nothing else to watch but its a abit long to watch part 1 and 2 consecutively again. Maybe it will be better when split into 2 different time

If you plan to watch this, hold on tight. You're in for a ride.

Wow.. Just wow.
OVERALL:
I was thinking how good of a drama must this be.. I didnt know much about this but it was trending all over the chinese internet.. Weibo and Douyin. Almost every week a few rankings of the hot search will be related to the show so i tried to watch and i gotta say i love this so so much. JUST WATCH IT. You literally will become part of the clique [SF,XJ, 6th Senior, Ling Long, Xiao ying hua, Liu Yi Huan, Ting Nu, Wu zhi qi and Zi Hu] This show is really really very torturing. With all the misunderstandings stacked on misunderstanding. Male lead tries his best to dissolve the dispute but he gets accused and accused all because of a jealous prick, i bet yall know who he is :P
The ending [by ending i mean the last battle in the heaven realm] was really unpredictable. I was thinking how they were gonna end it. Honestly, kinda sad that Luohou Jidu had to die because i could see him turning over a new leaf.
I have nothing else to say other than this show will become one of the legendary shows like Eternal Love, Ashes of Love etc. If i say any further ... i will spoil the whole show :<

SUMMARY OF Y U SHLD WATCH:
Its a full pack of romance and comedy and by that i mean its super duper sweet [it has me screaming in the middle of the night] and super funny because of the supporting actors, mainly the main leads servants adding to the drama. i bet with you, it isnt a waste of your time to watch this. i got hooked within the first 3ep like please please watch this drama if youre finding for something with a TEENY bit revenge [actl its jealousy not revenge] but at the same time packed with romcom
SUMMARY OF THE STORY:
I JUST CANNOT explain how much feelings i have for this show overall. i just think its perfect, really really perfect.
im just gonna summarize everything a little bit [not the synopsis] xiaoqian goes into her script and becomes qianqian who is supposedly an arrogant and 'I MUST GET WHAT I WANT' kind of princess, everyone is scared of her but her mother adores her alot, she gets what she wants. she meets hanshuo who is her husband from the country opposing huayuan. he is gonna die due to his heart disease, he survives and the story of them as a couple starts. they go through shit ton of up n downs, ML chases FL as hard as he can but she just couldnt see her feelings for him. the ending is perfect but too short, leading me to think that there will be a season 2 but at the same time i dont really think so.
STORY:
PERFECT, arguments are dealt with within an episode or two [ you guys must must brace yourself for the high point aka the worst fight of the drama because it isnt sad but its funny and sexy and hot FOR REAL its still pg13 :>] zhao lu si fits her character super well. if you know her off cam you will agree. she gets adored by everyone shes around. hanshuo is just an OMG. i fell in love with him because of his looks and mainly because of how much he loves the FL and how he treats her even though she keeps [she seems like she is but she really isnt, its mostly misunderstandings] lying to him
ACTING:
ive watched all the bts, let me tell ya. their chemistry is super duper good, i really think they are dating or something hehe i kinda hope they do. they really suit each other on and off screen. the other actors did really well. i really must say that the elder sister is really really really beautiful n cute.
MUSIC:
i like the little snippets i hear, i havent hear the whole sound track but base on the little snippets they give us. everything's good
REWATCH:
10000000000000000/10
RECOMMENDATIONS IF YOU LIKE THIS DRAMA:
Korean -
W: Two worlds
A girl gets pulled into a viral webtoon world her father created, she falls in love with the male lead of the webtoon. basically like how xiao qian got stuck in her script world
Chinese-
THE eternal love [by xingzhaolin] - a girl time traveled accidentally to the period world and was married to the 8th prince, mo lian cheng. this show is super funny because the original girl [in the period world] is a quite and gentle girl. however the girl brought from the modern world is aggressive and short tempered. she wont let anyone bully her or anyone she loves. its also packed with comedy and romance keke. theres a season2 for this!!
- Theres this another show but i really forgot its name, its about this prince suddenly appearing in a girl's room in the modern world. something about a turning lamp...

argh, heartwrenching

Before I start, if you don't wanna read this whole review, please read this ONE LINE, I beg. Get your tissues ready, specifically for Episodes 16,22,23,24 :) don't need to thank me. I used like 27 pieces of tissue, SOOOOOOOO.............. good luck hahaha

"In my whole life, I've not let anyone down. But I've let ShiYi down."
"辰此一生 不负天下 唯负十一"
Damn, I have so much to say about this show, I don't even know where to start...

Let's start with a detailed story summary/synopsis...
A royal of Bei Chen, Zhou Sheng Chen, vowed to never have a wife or offspring as to show loyalty to the emperor. He then took on the role of a general and promised to keep his homeland safe. A lady from a family of Scholars, known as the Cui family, with her name Shi Yi. From birth, she was arranged to get married to the crown prince when she reaches a suitable age. But who knew that one day, she would be taken in as a disciple under Zhou Sheng Chen and she slowly develops feelings for him. But due to his vow, and despite his natural human feelings, he started to like her as well but couldn't do a single thing about it other than to let her go................
Many sh*t happened, the ending was so DAMN DAMN sad, so many things that could have gone right but went wrong. so many things that could have been avoided but sigh... I can't say much of this drama because I will end up spoiling it so badly :<
Everything gets made up for in season two though, but sadly in season two, their personalities will not be the same Junior NanChen Prince and Cui Shi Yi :< still!! PLEASE watch season two hehe it's good I promise!

PS. Take a look at my review in the second season!

slightly disappointing? [EDIT: COMPLETED]

don't get me wrong from the title of this review. but let's break it down...

legends: YYZ [male lead, yan yun zhi] SQ [female, sang qi] ZWY [2nd male lead, zhuo wen yuan]

the story:
short detailed summary: SQ is the first female student of the imperial college with a goal to graduate and get good grades there to fulfil the dying wish of her late brother and to also prove to the whole nation that females deserve a chance to study at an institution. in the midst of studying there, she fell in love with the polymath of the imperial college that she is in and that is YYZ. Alongside the romance line and the school story, YYZ and his side character friends are investigating a bad organization and their wrongdoings.
Moving on, let's start with the romance line,
this is a small spoiler but YYZ is the best friend of SQ's late brother and that was also a catalyst of their relationship. The romance between them is lighthearted, funny and hand in hand, they investigate the death of SQ's brother. Up to ep24, their relationship did not go through that big of a rollercoaster [by rollercoaster, I mean like separating for more than 2 eps]. Some of yall might not like it but I think it's okay? Though for ancient dramas, I do prefer those harem chaos and betrayal shit. But as everyone knows, Zhao Lu Si [SQ actress] rarely acts for those chaotic dramas. I don't think it's much big of a spoiler but there is some love triangle shit.. YYZ and SQ are together, but ZWY [childhood friend with SQ] is madly obsessed with SQ.
What I don't like much about the love line is the lack of creativeness, like I don't get the sweet romance/first love kind of feeling that usually gets me slamming my table because it is so sweet in between them. And what I mean by creativeness is that the feelings or the plot between the lovers are like not fresh? Like the reason they fight or have a quarrel, is that usual common reason, not sure if you can guess what is the reason cuz I'm tryna spoil bare minimum.
Moving on to the 'Investigation' part of the drama, ehhhh i think it's very boring. Not thrilling, not exciting. Some reactions that I get from good 'Investigation' plots are when it leaves me hanging and anxious about what the bad guys are gonna do next. But for this drama, they basically sit under a roof, drink tea and discuss shit like "Don't hurt XXXX" and their moves are predictable? Like some of the good shit are from Princess Silver, or like Legend of Fuyao [10/10 recommend this two if you love really MESSED UP stuff and really really good plot twists], Oh and actually Legend of Yun Xi is not bad too [9/10 recommend for a messed up story]

I would recommend drama if you like dramas with good visuals or a drama for relaxation. I would pick this drama if I have just gone through dramas and dramas of a really torturous (虐) storyline. I will update when the last episode airs!

EDIT: COMPLETED 30/30
well well well. it hasn't been a hot minute and I'm here.
For those who don't really want to read this whole part. Watch 25-30. It's where all the mess starts and ends!

Ah, the ending. Very complete I would say! I must admit the middle part of the drama isn't very well done but the ending is really good IMO. Within 3 episodes [28,29,30] Lots of emotions, LOTS OF PLOT TWISTS that got me screaming [for real] and the last episode was beautiful. Truly beautiful. This show ended with all questions answered and all dreams came true! Worthy to watch for the ending!! Now I'm renewing my stars from an 8.0 to a 9.0 :) The only flaw being the middle plot not being well done and some parts being boring. Everything else is good!

must must watch!

At first i dropped the show because i couldnt understand WHY must i watch this show about this woman dating a younger boy like the plot seems so plain.. but i was sooo wrong!
I came back the second time with the intention to see esther yu and zhang yu jian (cai minmin n he canyang)
but slowly i fell more and more for the main cp than them
story:
never like any ive seen before! slightly twisted regarding the family relationship and dating relationship ahahah
i think its just me who caught a few notes of sadness in the story, as in the overall story, it isnt about the couple's love story but instead this show is a life lesson, maybe a love lesson too especially for those who havent had their first love.
i found ye lu ming slightly annoying. its indescribable. he was stealing fanxing from yuan song but yet he loves her so much but at the same time what he is doing is wrong because he is forcing he fan xing to like him and date him and in the end he got mad at her for trying to force herself to like him... so thats kknda annoying... overall i really love the story and all the small funny details about this show, like the sound effects and just all the tiny little details about the show..
acting:
this was produced in the late 2018, song wei long was only 18 if not 19... and his acting is just so natural????? like how...
im a fan of zhang yujian's drama like le coup de foudre and please love me.. he never fails to make me laugh and i relate to his acting/emotions like even before he cried (when his father went missing) i cried already because i sensed that he was so sad and desperate. anyways i love him alott
victoria song, let me just tell u her body figure is sooooo good that im jealous sighh. i wouldnt say her acting is superb but she did great!! i love her drunk acting alot ahah alot of aegyo/撒娇/acting cute. i saw the behind the scenes and everyone had so much chemistry especially the cp and cai minmin cp
music:
i literally just finished the drama 12 minutes ago, im currently listening to the tracklist while writing this because all the songs played in the drama really caught my attention. "Amazing" is my favourite. ( the one that sings in english)
rewatch:
I WILL. when i get onto my rewatch binge during this quarantine until the first of june (now is 23 april) on the lost its eternal love, maybe ashes of love then maybe this. but before all that im gonna watch skate to love. so see you all soon on their review page!!

im really not kidding. the storyline is amazing. the moral of this show for me is that we should treasure our lives no matter what. and the part where SS goes back to QQ and YH becomes a kid, they both showed consistent love which is what i really like
the casts are all very bonded if you watch behind the scenes, it made me enjoy the show more
the music is really nice, i saved them all to my chinese song playlist
i am really not kidding, i am super picky with my dramas and this is one of the top 3 in my chinese category.
really worth the watch and spend the time to watch 50+ eps
PLEASE WATCH IT!! THERE WILL BE A SEQUAL <3
EDIT: i will x1000000 rewatch this before the sequal comes out hehe

honestly one of the best c-dramas in 2021

note: mandarin is my mother tongue, i speak it almost everyday
long story short if u wanna know if this show is good... i bought all 4 books of the original novel lol... :D

lets start off with the actors shall we?
visuals are OFF THE CHARTS!!! male 1, female 1, male 2 and female 3,, my goodness !!!!!! male and female 1 are the cutsie couple while male and female 2 are the cool and chic couple!! not to mention the 2 girls, they sing so well in real life!!! i recommend GWALLA and ChuLi is Here both by Esther Yu [ChuLi] and Reverse - Ma YinYin [GuBaiZhi] Both guys are smoking hot as well hahahaha

now the story -
unlike what esther yu dramas were always like, this sotry is more on the maturity side, like entering the workforce for the frist time, pursuing dreams and goals. this show is worth to watch because of the meaning of the story and basically how the show progressed and how the characters were portrayed. the main couple being goofy and finding love with each other while the second couple finding their love and passion for each other. so it is right for me/us to say that this show covers everything from different aspects. its like a whole package. story summary that is more in detail: chuli works at a book publishing company of her dreams ever since middle school, she meets her favourite novel writers, zhou chuan and jiang yu cheng respectively, coincidentally both of these writers were best friends since young! zhou chuan and chuli relationship grows steadier and closer as they work on publishing books together and.......living with each other under the same roof! and as for jian yu cheng, he meets his ex again, gu bai zhi and like the latter, they work together on books and also their broken relationship as to ge back together! overall, like ive mentioned, the story is lovely and very whlesome and family oriented as well. oo and honourable mention: er gou!! the doggo of the show hehe

acting skills,
well ding yu xi who played zhou chuan has already captured my dear old mum's heart so what else can i say! as for esther yu and chu li, their personalities are EXACTLY THE SAME! goofy and ambitious, no one can ever take place of acting chu li!!

music -
very nice! my favourites would be ChuLi is Here and NiuNiu! very cute songs!

worth the timeeeee

i only write reviews for dramas that i really adore, if you check my profile, ive watched alot alot of shows but only leave reviews for a few
*cracks knuckles* lets get started shall we?

the story is typical in a way but unique in a way! i gave story a 9 out of 10 because i didnt like how they skipped the 6 years part and only briefly show us how they were hurting after her leaving. its truly a refresher - i call a drama like that when the story has very little arguments and you're here just for the hugs and kisses. theres not much arguments, probably like 1 but it is actually just a disagreement. its just really really sweet and how fated they are. whatever they lost [items, feelings] were all back to them in the end and i love it.

edit: im sucker for gao er fan and lu yue's storyline. they make me cry all the time

one of the big reasons why i decided to watch this drama was their chemistry behind the scenes. this one BTS went viral in the chinese drama community [VIA DOUYIN] was when lingrui was walking through the house and the memories of when she just left came back and he was crying while visioning her leaving with her luggage. right when the director said cut, the female lead couldnt get out of character and the first person she ran to was the male lead. he carried her off the ground and walked around with her in his arms <3. plus factor! lu yi yao [uncle simon] is so hot lol

i never really listened to the music but it sounds nice so baam a 10 :D

this is really one of the best contract marriage drama ive ever watched. looks are on point, chemistry on point, humor on point. and their budget is really good too! sufficient for all the props!

next drama i might watch is either Love In Time or Ive Fallen For You [by Esther Yu and Liu Yi Chang]

And i would really love to see another drama starring this drama's cast. Like using the same production crew and casts for another drama. Example Legend of Yunxi and Blooms At Ruyi Pavillion!!
