The most stunning piece of art and cinematography I've ever seen...
I cannot express enough my applause and love for this drama. It is just so full and so profound in many ways that captivated my heart and soul. The story was so well written that bound every single character in the drama, no matter how small their role was. The scriptwriter really succeeded in retelling a wartime story in such a new and passionate way. Usually, when I watch historical or wartime dramas and movies, I just consider myself as an audience and watch them because they are entertaining, informative, or dramatic. But with Mr. Sunshine, I really felt that the drama touched my heart and soul, leaving me feeling the same way with every character in the drama, and made me feel like I was just right there in the drama, standing beside these characters. The love lines between the characters are well developed, too, with portrayals of different ways of loving and caring for others. There's one thing that's interesting about the chemistry between the two main characters: even though there were almost no intimate acts (kiss or something more than that, the best they did was hugging, and I wish there was even one kiss scene), the love that both characters have for each other is very existent, it's like their affections for each other were oozing out of their eyes and body movements, it's just something that you can feel it even without having to look at it with your eyes. Really great acting and chemistry!Everything else than that, the cinematography, the OST, the scene set-up, the acting, were all top-notch. The drama gives the audience all kinds of emotions: heartbroken, happy, comical, angry, frustrated, disappointed, excited, and so on. As I said, this is a profound and fulfilling piece of artwork that deserves applause and appreciation.

BETTER be a drama
I mean i read the novel on which this drama based so I would say the drama seriously captures the core of the novel and the actors did a pretty good job portraying the characters. However, the drama is super frustrating to watch if you really take time and effort to penetrate the minds of the characters and to understand them. And if you want a moral lesson, this drama would not give you a proper one since behind all the romantic veils, it's just a sad story of a blind man who was too coward to admit how impotent he was and to confess his feelings for whom he loves. And a woman with mild Stockholm syndrome who falls in love with the man abusing and torturing her and at the end actually falling for him?!!! I know it's hard for MSQ to kinda get out of the marriage since it intertwines with business benefits but does it not sound ridiculous when he doesn't accept the fact that he accepts to marry his wife to save his father's business and then loathes his wife for that? If he hates her about that, he should refuse her from the first place and have the dignity to rebuild his father's business without her help. He doesn't "dare" to show his tempers to the wife's family and puts out that toxic attitude on TX, which is even more ridiculous to me. I think it would be better to end with TX understands his feelings for her but she would move on to start a new life and would not actually end up falling in love with him. It's just not worth it. I mean it would be a serious mental problem in real life if you still choose to live with somebody who just knows only how to hurt you. Very frustrating and exhausting. Was this review helpful to you?
love it!
i don't know why but this drama is the only version in the "School" series that i can actually watch from the start till the end. the chemistry of the main couple is off the charts, no kidding at all! their acting and interactions both in the drama as well as in BTS videos is incredibly cute! i keep smiling watching them lol!the plot can be a little off, like, not as complicated and intense as the first two versions but it has its own charm. I swear!
the relationships between different characters in the drama is naturally developed and in all the actors just portray such a cute yet still down-to-earth story.
highly recommend!

a classic one!
for people who just started watching this one, i would say this drama is not that impressive, but definitely a classic one which set paves for a lot of idol dramas later.the story revolves around the three main characters and their complicated relationships. both main male chars are in love with the female lead and use their own ways to gain her heart. i would say the drawback of the drama is that the male chars mostly physically and mentally tortured the female lead. she is kept in between the two men she cares for and used to care for and she is exhausted by that. all three of them have some mild to serious mental issues and twisted thinking, which causes much drama, tension, and sorrow for all of them. even though the drama can look peaceful and romantic on the surface, it is actually a melodrama which lifts your heart up and down the whole time.
i remember watching it as a kid (10 yrs old more) and was really impressed at the time with the drama and later rewatched it when i grow older. not a profound drama but absolutely holds its own value

a melodrama i would always come back to
i can't entirely express my love for this drama! it is so brilliant from the plot writing to the actors' acting as well as the soundtracks and cinematography.the story, i would say, is a pretty classic or even cliche one, a love story between 2 people who have feuds or hostility towards each other. but the drama was conducted in a way that still leaves us astonishing moments as well as intense emotions. it doesn't make us bored at all for knowing how the story is going to end!
the break-ups, reunions, and starts of relationships in the drama are full of emotions: joy, sorrow, and surprises. the progress of characters in discovering themselves thanks to other characters and learning to love and cherish who they love is gold, which attracts and keeps the audience till the end of the drama.
not to mention the visuals of all 4 main characters is undeniably great! Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum have established such perfect chemistry in this drama that I could not accept the fact that they are not even real!
overall, a very satisfying drama to watch! highly recommend!

a FRESH drama
i think this one's story is quite different from the other light-hearted historical dramas. the story is set in an ancient town in which women are valued higher than men (a very contrary ideology compared to the classic one in Asia) and every family would die to have a daughter rather than a son. but the male lead, who comes from the neighbor town which has the exact opposite ideology, comes to the female lead's town to find his illness cure, they fall in love with each other in an unexpected and hilarious way.overall, i would say it is a comedy so pls do not expect too serious or logical plot scenes. the chemistry between the male and female lead is on top, which fuels the attractiveness of the drama!
a cure for you after a stressful day!
