This movie is way too long for what it actually is. The structure of the movie is very much 'we will throw them this scenario because it needs to have more action but this doesn't effect nor change any of the dynamics or impact any of the storyline long-term' another way of saying 'this is filler' it's that type of movie. Much alike a lot of the movies that does this, it's still enjoyable if you don't want to think too much or if you want to watch something and then forget about it a week later. In that sense it serves it's purpose and if this is what your looking for give it a watch.
The ways to which the movie lacks big time in my opinion is without a doubt the characters and the lack of good character development if any at all. There's only a handful of characters we are introduced to so you'd expect to get to know about them but we only find out 1 fact about each of them in a montage style moment at the beginning and since that moment no more information is told and there is no character development. This is especially a shame because the actors where really decent.
Overall expect to enjoy this movie for the sport aspect but don't expect a master piece.
