Now, the drama itself is not that bad. Like all period drama, it started out good and I was waiting for that episode for Zhang Bin Bin to appear. He's not the main male lead in this drama, but the main reason I watch this drama. After that, the middle part gets draggy and long. It started to pick up again the last 15 episodes or so. There are many side characters, and I do enjoy their character development, especially Lei Jing Hong and Dao Lie Xiang. The ending is a bit confusing to me, and I read several comments how people get the ending after watching several times. So not for me! I get confused and this is the first and last time I watch this drama. I couldn't go through and waste another 52 episodes trying to understand the ending. So, it's not a rewatch for me, ever.
The OST on the other hand is great. I could listen to it over and over again. I like the opening song and two other songs that's playing several times throughout the drama.

Not as good as the first one
I enjoyed watching the first one, so I was excited to watch the second season with the same cast. This one continues Lin Miao Miao and her family's journey in life. She and her three friends have graduated high school and is in university. The story revolves around Miao Miao and her life as a college student and entering the workforce. She goes through the same struggles as a new worker as I believe almost everyone does. The drama depicts real life and its ups and downs. There are some difficult issues covered in this drama such as depression and violence. Overall, a good family drama, but I prefer the first seasonWas this review helpful to you?
A sad but beautiful love story
I came across this drama on Netflix and found that there is a movie version that Jasper Liu starred in. I couldn't find the movie version to watch. This is a love story, a sad love story, a sad but beautiful love story. A story how love can be so powerful and develop a very strong connection between the two people. I've never seen any of the cast in other dramas but I thought they played their characters really well and you can see very deep emotion and feel, sympathize with what the characters are going through. The music is good too (well, music is the theme - they're looking for the copyright owner of a song). I will definitely re-watch this sometime in the future. It's such a beautiful story..Was this review helpful to you?
This drama has an interesting storyline. It's a time travel themed drama. However, this is not like the usual time travel drama where the characters meet the version of them in the past or the future. In this drama, the characters travel to a different time but meeting other characters who look exactly like them, but not them. Somehow these four (or six if you count the villain) characters from two different timelines are connected. I don't know if it's my concentration or something else, but this confuses me. I lost track of who is who and why. That's why I said that I have to re-watch this drama with more focus.
Overall, this is a beautiful story and refreshing because it's different.

Interesting but slow
I started watching this because of it's interesting premise. It's different from other c-dramas. It tells the story of a retirement home owner and the interesting characters of senior citizens (with their family problems) that live in the retirement home. It's an interesting look into what getting old looks like (for those who are lucky enough to reach retirement age). This is not a love story, although the ML and FL kinda got together, but it's never really been the focus. The acting of the casts are superb, both the young and older actors. I find that the drama is sort of cut into chunks and several episodes focus on one senior citizen's story and his/her family issues. This is where some episodes get really boring and I lost my attention on the story part of a character that i don't like. Overall, it's an interesting family drama. Was this review helpful to you?
What a Bore
OMG I don't even know where to begin with this review. It doesn't get better from the first season. I put in very little concentration while watching this drama. I'm not one who drop dramas when I start and Netflix has this as one continuous part, so I just kept watching this in the background. Some people however may enjoy watching this and if you are only looking for a drama where you don't have to put much effort and just watch casually looking for the romance part, you might enjoy this drama. Or if you are really a big fan or one or more of the casts. Other than that, I would not recommend this drama. Was this review helpful to you?
The best part of the drama is the chemistry between Zhao Lu Si and Yang Yang. They are like the perfect couple and I really like their interaction and they are very cute together. Yang Yang is indeed a very handsome and charming actor who can be overly cool but when he smiles, my heart just melts :)
The wuxia/fighting scenes are a lot more in the first half of the drama. The second half is mostly just political stuff, but not too heavy that you can still easily follow and understand the plot. That's why I only gave this drama a 9 because these political plots are too predictable and light for me. I think the strong part of this drama is the romance story between Yang Yang and Zhao Lu Si.
Another strong point is that there is quite a couple of strong female characters, Bai Feng Xi being one of them and Feng Qi Wu. Boy, I like how badass and loyal Feng Qi Wu is. She really is a great character. The other supporting characters are also good, particularly those by Hei Feng Xi's side like Chong LI and the General and his two sons. I enjoyed these supporting characters story a lot too.
Rewatch value is high for me. If I have time and couldn't find anything new that's worth to watch, this would be on the top of my rewatch list as it's entertaining and quite light for a costume drama. The OST is great! There are five songs that I put on my Apple Music playlist that I've been listening to over and over again, especially the two songs that are on the background of Bai-Hei Feng Xi's romantic interaction. I am still listening to these songs (and will still be listening to this song) even after I have finished watching the drama.

However, I very very quickly loose interest during episode 2 or 3 (on Netflix). I thought the execution of this storyline is a bit messy and I am very annoyed by the FL's acting. She looks like a spoiled high school girl who is so naive with that whiny voice instead of a college graduate who just started her first job (which she did not do well too apparently). I am also not impressed with the ML's acting. I found him stiff and without expression. The bad thing about me is that I never not finish a drama, regardless of how bad it is. However, I don't watch these dramas seriously, so I put it on as background sound while i do errands here and there.
Enough ranting about this drama. Unless you're a fan of the actors and actresses, I would suggest you skip this drama.

This review is based on the first season only and this drama is okay for me, okay enough to continue to the second season. What I like about this drama is Tan Song Yun's acting. I've watched her in Go Ahead and really like her then so this is the main reason i'm watching Fox's summer. Her character and acting makes this show enjoyable and made me interested to see how two people with such different personalities that annoys each other can fall in love. There are some funny moments that if i do rewatch this drama, i would just rewatch those.

If you like family drama, you might enjoy this drama. As for me, I have mixed feelings on this drama. I like the story and the two male leads and the little girl (She's the same little girl from Two Fathers, a Taiwanese drama that I've watched), but I really do not like the main female lead. Her acting is bad for portraying someone who's diagnosed with a life threatening disease. It's like she doesn't show any emotions, her emotions when the disease part is not revealed until we know she has that disease is the same. This drama is actually enjoyable, I like the family and friendship value, but for me (other people may feel different - this is just me) the main female lead ruined the show for me. Telenovela-like c-drama
This drama started out good and interesting. The way i feel about it is like watching those telenovelas with evil mother-in-law and other girl trying to get your man using every means possible. It's interesting at first and moves in quite a pace that makes me want to hit that "next episode" button. However, it goes downhill at around halfway. It gets boring and the evil-ness gets a bit too much to handle. I started watching this for Hawick Lau and Zhao Li Ying and they both did quite okay, but not great to make the performance or the drama memorable years from now. OST is just so-so, not one I would shazam and put on my Apple Music playlist. Rewatch value? No way I would put myself through something like this for the second time! Exruciatingly painful!I wouldn't recommend you watch this drama, except if you really really want to see the two main leads (or any other actors/actresses in this drama) or you are into those "telenovela" like plot. Other than that, don't waste your time and stay away from this one.
