If you want to watch...skip to middle and start there

Story:
-The story is too much about them meeting up in the beginning for food
-Lots of dead time that could have been edited out and condensed to 20 or 24 episodes
-Doesn't get interesting until 2nd half and even then lots of wasted time
-Lots of extraneous scenes not necessary...like the "I missed my period" scene.
-Didn't explain pool and so it was hard to follow at times and boring

Acting:
-ML was okay, good eye and connection with FL but the eating scenes...ML when he ate took large bites and a bit disgusting
English was a good effort but the singing was not that great...
-FL is cute and strong character though lots of reliance on older cousin
-Younger cousin, older cousin, friend that was ranked with ML were all excellent
-Supporting cast did a good job

Overall: : Liked the 2nd half definitely more, pacing was so slow. Didn't like the ending that much...could have been better and full story could have been done in less time. Will not rewatch

Not worth 30 episodes and Female Lead character was terrible! Awful screenwriting and directing

It was interesting at first to see the struggles of the Rui family kinda cinderalla -ish with multiple wives and sisters and a pathetic father. And interesting to watch the General's reaction to his new wife.

But kept thinking the FL character of Jin'er would get better but it was awful. She didn't grow or mature. It was a constant misunderstanding, scheming, whining, irritating stupidity that continued to make the General have to apologize and show his love to a ridiculously immature and annoyingly bratty girl that never evolved into a woman. She wouldn't see the big picture.

Stuck with it just to see who was the ultimate person behind all the killings, fire, etc. And the humor at the end was good and the idea that they meet in modern times was pretty interesting.

The ML was good looking and did a great job. Really liked Rou Rou's character and actress.

But overall it was a waste of time and not all that great when you're screaming at the screen "She is so stupid!"

Music: Memorable but nothing major
Scenery: Not bad
Costuming: Lots of beautiful period costumes
Fighting scenes: Well done and fun to watch

Fun Rom Com C drama

Story:
-Story has magical powers, murder, power struggle, childhood memories and love story.
-The story wasn't bad as it was written as a novel initially and then played out as such so lots of non plausible and yet other realistic possibilities.

Acting:
-Good acting by the FL & ML. The ensemble cast was fun and funny
-Villian was well acted and ruthless
-Really enjoyed the narcisstic "god" complex dude as the story unfolded

Overall: If you have time to watch and want a light hearted fun then this is a good one to watch

Stellar CDrama without any need for Romantic storyline

Story:
- Almost missed out cuz I'm not an esports fan
-This was such a fun watch cuz it was more about character development!
-It's about Redemption, Forgiveness, knowing self, wanting to know and help others especially their weaknesses and strengths, supporting each other as a team not as individual achievements and overall loving on others
-Good humor and fun times
-Great understanding of how to build a team and coach
-Like how Main Character is able to keep his cool and forgives constantly cuz he knows his purpose

Acting:
- Yang Yang was the perfect actor for this! He did a fantastic job as the humbled, matured master and founder of Glory e sports competition.
-All the supporting actors and actresses did a super job as the antagonists, the competitors, the support team, the failures turned growing apprentices to professionals.
-Several funny scenes which made it more fun!

Overall:
I really enjoyed this drama that didn't include a love/romance angle. It really worked so well to just focus on the characters and their development and maturity in playing this game. Be ready for lots of flipping from live action to the "Game"/CGI adventure.

Watch it! You won't regret it!

Worth Watching

Story:
Good characters though it took a while to warm up to the FL character
Showed the scheming of powerful people in military, at court and those seeking power or control over people
Enjoyed the ML & FL banter, fighting and push and pull in the relationship...
Liked the hidden identities and how it unfolds
Good strong FL character who could hold her own even when "forced" to marry and ML character hurt so many times to save the FL, his father, his fellow soldier, his country.
Good frustrated with the emperors incompetence...very realistic

Acting:
- Both leads and supporting actors were excellent
-Scheming military and court officials all did their parts well
-The comradarie among his band of brothers was enviable

Overall:
The beginning is fast paced and builds story well. So pay attention .
The coffin and ending was a bit predictable but none the less fun to watch
The ending was good and complete...satisfying unlike some dramas that just end it.
Good humor and moments of fun within serious topics of leadership, bearing the weight of purpose and what you are born into as well as sacrifice for those you love

One of the Best Chinese Period Drama!

Story:
-So fun with the dual identity, strong ML & FL which was great to watch
+hoped they would develop more of the playful humor surrounding her reveal of her double identity but then again it was during her state being attacked.
-The story is excellent with so many different characters that weave together and believable
-The ending was a bit anticlimactic when they fought the villian.
-The intrigue, the manipulation of trying to gain the throne and then the realization of what's important and how difficult it is to be in a place of power and to use it well...very good.
-And as someone commented...best portrayal of woman admiration and friendship even with liking the same person. Strong portrayal and positive light on women.

Acting:
- Yang Yang did an amazing job of the elegant, sickly genius Prince and the strong, intelligent, powerful Hei Fengxi. His small inflections, smiles and facial expresssions were well acted.
- Zhao Lusi was positively fun and excellent. Her portrayal of Bai Fengxi and then Princess Xiyun was right on target! Innocent, playful and yet strong in martial arts, smart and wanting just to exact justice not be in a place of power.
-Qiwu was played very well as the strong female clan leader and smart as a whip, supporter to both lead roles.
-Rest of the cast played every role so well...it was so fun to watch esp the antagonists and their plotting.

Overall:
I have to say this has everything: wuxia, romance, power struggle, royalty, beautiful costuming, beautiful scenery, great humor, military strategy, and well acted. Pacing, directing, sets, costuming were all good...the only thing is the ending was a bit less descriptive but all in all it made you want more! I've rewatched certain scenes so many times! You definitely cheer for the couple and it's hard to stop watching. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did/do! ;)

Not all that...for me hard to get through all 40 episodes

Story:
-The story is too disjointed from scene to scene, you don't develop a deep care for any character really except maybe ML cuz his family is killed and he is beaten to a pulp as a kid.
-Lots of dead time and scenes that could have been a faster pace which made it drag on in the middle
-It starts out with the cruelty of being a pearl diver which I appreciated the honesty of that situation but didn't like the ML being cruel to FL as well in such an abusive and violent way that it doesn't produce any bitterness or resentment...not humanly honest.
-Didn't produce too many new characters so it was easy to guess who the villains were even the "hidden" one - there's only one that they showcased in the desert.

Acting:
- I like Zhao Lusi but it just wasn't her best role. She was able to be emotional and cry well in many scenes. And you see some maturity and growth and appreciate the designers changing her hair/clothes to show the progression.
-However, the name changing wasn't really explained per se...so someone can just change it as they please to remake themselves? And yet she's a merchant dealing with legalities which doesn't make sense.
-Small details gave it away...as a pearl diver her nails looked like she had gel nail polish on-too nice and neat
-ML was good in his role but it didn't make you really like him til much later. His sidekick was someone you like Kang Ju.
- Good chemistry between ML and FL and some of the couples in this cdrama esp Cui and Zheng
-Supporting cast did a good job: 1st set was fun to watch and good performance. but second set...how they meet and become fast friends is a little too quick for me to develop a trust and fast friendship like that

Scenes
Lots of beautiful scenes in the movie
Costuming was gorgeous

Overall: I wouldn't watch it again, there wasn't any character that was significant nor was it unique. REvenge plot
And the ending was meh in my opinion...FL lead says not to leave and then we are left to assume he left
Or maybe they left together to the desert for him to die? Who knows

Subtitling: Andthe subtitling on Netflix was many times inaccurate and/or did not capture the Chinese meaning behind what was said. So those watching with subtitles may be cheated of some of the story or what the character was trying to convey in a scene.

Excellent Drama with only 14 episodes!

It was an excellent drama that was well acted and I like historical dramas with a twist. This one with a time entrance for a modern person which made the historian/lover realize and discover the truth behind a historical figure.

Modern people judge and write based on a few events/articles/items left over, this made me realize how complicated the truth can be and there is always more to the story than face value. History canNOT be only what the "majority" says or what was "popularly told" at the time. Truth always reveals itself and this was a good drama to remind us.

The ending was sad and painful but honest.

Really enjoyed it. Good pacing and they

Really enjoyed the Story and Self Sacrificing FL

Story:
-The story was well written as this could be a possibility
-Like how it shows the human side of different characters and how they solve life issues & love situations
-The ending is so good and plausible. The ML and FL are so mature and giving which makes their relationship more relatable
-Like the humble ending, more realistic

Acting:
-Good acting but it was a bit hard to see the FL actor as a high school student
-The ex GF of the ML played her character well
-Both ML & FL were good throughout especially the ending

Overall: Would watch again and made me cry and think about self sacrifice, unselfishness, meekness, staying true even in the midst of false accusations and how long and arduous loving someone can be but so joyful too.

Good Modern Romance CDrama

Story:
-Good pacing and fun to watch how the lead characters finally get together
-Realistic with the FL's investment into the long relationship before and pressure from all sides to get back together as well as the ex boyfriends desire to get what he wants
-The theme of best friend with brother was also interesting to watch
-Liked the theme of family and support
-Liked how they showed character flaws of leads, support each other and their struggles

Acting:
- ML and FL were so good and great chemistry
-BFF, Brother, the Assistant and the Heiress were fun to watch as well
-The band members & bartender boss were favorites!

Overall:
A good watch to see what modern Chinese young adult professionals work and culturally deal with life. The fashion was fun to see as the ML and FL were both in very cool clothes. The music was good and very moody. Appreciated the genuineness of the characters. There were some parts which were a bit overdone but overall I really enjoyed it!

If you like Modern ESports Plus Romance then check it out

Story:
The story was interesting as it gave an interesting look at campus life of an esports pro and competition
The romance was definitely a drama...some parts were not realistic but that's the fun of it
Did not like the ending...it could have been better

Acting:
- ML and FL did a good job
-FL is believable as a young hot shot

Overall:
It was an okay watch, had it's fun and humorous moments but it wasn't great.
If you like Esports, watch King's Avatar instead
If you like love and romance this was okay but I would say there are better dramas

Not very good

Story:
-The story line was ok and it gave a good perview into the lives of chinese actors and how they have to deal with media, popularity, etc.
-Lots of choppy storylines.
-The younger sister was soooo annoying for several episodes and yet overnight grew up even with hair/makeup?

Acting:
-Good acting but the FL role was a little too much...too sassy and narcisstic in some scenes and yet she was very forgiving which I appreciated and had integrity in a tough industry.
-ML was good looking but a bit stiff and maybe a little too much even for the role
-Side kick roles were funny but not as funny as other RomComs

Overall: Didn't like it and it could have been done in less time. Will not rewatch

First Modern KDrama and it wasn't bad

Story:
-The story was predictable and lots of things not realistic but it's a drama
-Lots of soap opera drama techniques
-Good preview for me to see how wealthy Koreans live and rural ones in modern day
-Shows human nature is same in all different economic stratas
-The brain tumor was plausible but the operation/etc was not, FL was perfect hair/face right after
-Hilarious that ML thought the vintage Channel clothing was what his grandma would wear

Acting:
-Good acting for all of the cast
-FL was beautiful and acted the snotty, aristocratic, arrogant, stubborn 3rd gen wealthy CEO of a dept store though also human wanting to be loved and appreciated very well
-ML was so good as the country boy falling in love with the "poor" girl and then realizing how hard it is to live in a crazy rich family where the wife's family rules because they have the money and power...well acted
-Villians made you feel sorry for them and dislike them
-Auntie was the best character...hilarious
-Liked the Auntie's wanna be suitor too

Overall: Fun drama to watch knowing it is definitely drama!

Really enjoyed this rom com

I've watched several cdramas now and this by far is one my favorite
It has all the sweetness and emotions played well by all the different couples.
It has real life issues, complications and playfulness: Harassment, power plays, marriage, sacrifice, motherhood/fatherhood, meaning of family, custody

The female characters are portrayed well with strong character.
The FL character is so strong and able to sacrifice so much for her son and the one she loves
The ML is playful and plays his character well coming from an abandoned background to a wealthy adoptive family overseas.

REally like the BFF of the FL lead and the sister! They were both portrayed well! Strong yet loving!
The son has great lines and says them well! He really steals the show!

And the ending is a good wrap up, not like some of them where the ending leaves feeling jilted or not complete.

Lastly, the scene where they show the other cdrama our FL & ML were in is so comical! Writer has good sense of humor
