A fantastic introduction to one of my favorite competition series of all time. The social politics, the brain-bending games, and watching the cast navigate this unknown territory were all a treat to watch. Probably my favorite season of the four, simply for its originality. The contestants have a wide variety of backgrounds, so watching them compete purely through mental and social capital is an enthralling watch; everyone has their merits and even those eliminated usually have shown some of their "genius".
Highly recommended to fans of reality competition shows, or fans of specific members of the cast.

A really entertaining season, with my favorite players changing many times throughout the show. Everyone showed some sort of growth by the end, and it was overall a fascinating look into a more magnanimous/positive style of play. It felt more positive as a whole than Season 1 and I think I enjoyed this slightly more for the complex social dynamics that emerged on Nopdong and cultural differences evident in Madong from the first episode.
People that enjoy complex challenges will enjoy that aspect of the show as well, but the emotional/social aspects of the game are also really interesting.
I would encourage fans of the first season to check this out, and even for those that haven't seen the first, this is certainly worth a watch. Fans of The Genius or other Jung Jong-yeon shows will likely enjoy this as well.
Thank you to Squad Baechu for the subtitles, your hard work is appreciated!

Since there wasn't a review for this film at the time of writing this, I figured I'd give my thoughts.
Though I appreciate its sprawling shots and attention to detail (having literally hundreds of men dressed in armor,  the careful and deliberate shots of Shingen and those bowing to him, etc.), it was a fairly slow movie, and I don't feel I really got to know any of the characters. The actors did a good job, but one general in particular was prone to overacting (literally shouting his lines in an otherwise silent room, which seemed a bit much); the score was used mainly for battle scenes, and the songs fit thematically. Viewed from a historical fiction perspective, it was a satisfying epic that had several transitional periods in the movie, and its conclusion seemed fitting, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it or rewatch it any time soon.
