A good crime thriller which lost its pace halfway through
Overview : “The good detective” started off pretty well, but the ending was not upto the mark. A crime thriller with an interesting plot which lost its pace in the middle. Out of all the detective / crime thriller dramas I have watched, I couldn’t find anything particularly unique with this series. The drama is neither too good nor too bad. It’s an okay-okay drama to watch. You can watch it once, If you are really into crime thrillers / detective dramasPlus points : The bromance between the detectives and their bickering here and there was so interesting and good to watch. There were a lot of emotions and bonds throughout the series which got me emotionally connected with the drama. Though there was no romance in the drama, I really loved the bond between the leads which gave out a special vibe. The casting was extremely good - each and every actor had done amazing justice to their roles. The music was pretty good but not exceptional.
Minus points : I personally felt that the drama was really dragging. It would have been good if it was upto 12 episodes. Unnecessary dragging with a lot of revelations, flashbacks and recurring sequences was a major turn off. I wanted to drop off in the middle, but I really wanted to know the ending and that’s why I competed watching it. Though I know that if there was romance, the drama would have been offtrack - still I was hoping for a slight romance between the leads as they were so good. I felt disconnected halfway through the drama as it had lost its pace in the middle.
Conclusion : Overall, the drama was okay. The series doesn’t have much of a rewatch value.

An intense mystery / crime drama which keeps you at the edge of your seat
Overview : I came across few clips of “Graceful Friends” before I even started watching the series. I thought it was going to be like “The world of the married”. But this series was totally different and turned out to be pretty unexpected for me. I totally loved the series and as the story unfolds, it became more interesting and surprising. I was intrigued by the fact that this series has 17 episodes; because usually I have come across dramas with 12,16 or 32 episodes. Such an interesting plot with twists and turns.Plus points : The casting is a major plus point for this drama. The whole cast were totally amazing and did a fantastic job. Even the characters who appeared only for a few minutes touched my heart - Especially the charming nurse Yeo and the security guard. The acting was top-notch. The music was so good and totally merged with the series. The bonding between the friends and their spouses was so heartwarming to watch. The younger selves of the 5 friends - oh my god they were so fabulous. The mysterious plot itself gets a plus point for the drama.
Minus points : To be honest, I totally loved the drama and I don’t think there are any minuses except for the fact that it was a bit dragging towards the end.
Conclusion : Definitely watch this drama once. Worth binge-watching - An emotional roller coaster ride with twists and turns.

A psychological mystery thriller approached in a different way
Finally watched “The King of Pigs”. A phenomenal drama with a strong emotional connect.TRIGGER WARNING - This drama involves Violence and Bullying. (18+)
Story:
A story of school students who encounter bullying at school. When they become adults, how the bullying had affected them and their life is the plot.
Pros:
A realistic concept executed in a perfect way. The insight into bullying and how it affects one’s behaviour throughout the life is shown in the best possible way. The drama has thrown light into mental health awareness. It shows how a childhood trauma affects one even in adulthood. Casting was perfect. The young as well as the old casting was perfect. Music is so-so. The whole story was thrilling and puts you at the edge of your seat.
Cons:
It is a 12 episode drama. But still I felt it was a bit dragging. Somewhere I lost the connect midway, though the story was interesting. The characterisation of the female lead was a bit weak. Chae Jung An could have been used in a better way, considering her excellent acting skills.
Overview:
A must watch psychological thriller. If you get triggered by violence or bullying, kindly avoid watching it. Also, it contains a lot of mature scenes, better to avoid if you are not of age! Overall, a great watch. The emotional and psychological touch is just bang on.
P.s : I hope that teachers and parents take bullying into serious consideration. I hope no one faces such bullying and violence. Bullying complaints by any child should not be taken lightly by teachers and parents.

A realistic medical drama which could have had a better ending
Overview:I’m really into medical dramas but I always felt that Korean medical dramas are more realistic while compared to other language medical dramas. But this drama proved me wrong. This is a splendid drama with realistic back stories. The different kinds of patients, their background, emotions were beautifully portrayed. With a light touch of romance and more into friendship, relationships, competitiveness; this drama portrays the life of doctors and how a hospital operates.
Plus points:
The stories of patients and their family history etc were so interesting and kept me glued to the drama. They have beautifully portrayed the relationship between the patients and the doctors. The acting of the whole cast was top notch. Especially the FL did a wonderful job. Unlike the traditional way, where the FL always wins in everything. Here, they have shown how the FL goes wrong in her job and how she improves with her hard work and becomes a better doctor. The entire story and concept is so relatable and real. Demonstration of ER at the end of each episode is so interesting and I learnt a lot from it. I loved the title song. It matches the drama perfectly. The music is also subtle.
Minus points:
There were a lot of unexpected flashbacks and back stories. It would have been better to show it then and there rather than going back and forth. I found it a bit dragging. 44 episodes are too much for this kind of drama. At one point of time, I found it so repetitive.
Conclusion:
On the whole, Its a good medical drama which shows the daily life of the doctors. It was more like a slice of life drama. If you are into medical dramas and if you want to learn more about paediatrics through a drama, do go for it!!

A good crime thriller which could have been better
Overview : I was wanting to watch this movie for quite sometime. I came across a few clips of the movie and when I saw Lee Sang Yeob in a grey shade, I was really looking forward to watch it. The movie started off well. But it was too dragging. It had great potential and could have been far more better. The cast, acting, music were all on point. But somewhere, I didn’t get the connect. The movie involved a lot of elements like kidnapping, power abuse, violence, injustice etc. It’s a one time watch. If you are into crime thrillers, go for it.Plus points:
Casting is a big plus for this movie. The politics and the suspense elements were really good. Lee Sang Yeob did an amazing job and he portrayed his role really well. Ma Dong Seok - Woooow he killed it and I loved watching him in this movie. Music was good and it was exactly on point for a crime thriller. A fantastic story with a good screenplay and concept.
Minus points:
It was too dragging and I lost the connect at a point of time. With such a great cast, it had a good potential
which I think was not properly utilised. There were no grand moments, it was like a usual crime thriller. It started off like wooow and ended like booom!
Conclusion:
The movie was neither too bad nor too good. It is watchable. If you are into crime thrillers, go for it!

Overview:
Through out the drama, I was able to feel so many emotions and I could totally connect with the drama. Though this is a light romance drama, the interaction between Woo Bo Yeong (Female Lead Character) and Ye Je Wook (Male Lead Character ) were totally heart fluttering to watch. It’s a feel good drama to watch, though there are a very few emotional happenings here and there. I have watched so many dramas, but I experienced a unique feeling while watching this drama which I have never felt before.
Likes:
I really liked the way that each episode was connected to a poem which was very meaningful, deep and relatable. Also, there are a number of humorous scenes which made me literally “ROFL”. The scenes between the male and female lead was so natural and good to watch. The life of each character of this drama was beautifully portrayed. I liked the way in which the practical difficulties in the personal lives of the characters were shown and how they tackle and get over them. The stories of the patients were so heart warming and emotional.
Dislikes:
There were certain humorous scenes which I found to be repetitive, that made me to fast forward those scenes. I really disliked the continued failure of the female lead in a number of circumstances, which I feel is a bit artificial / unnatural.
Casting:
I must mention that the casting is perfect and everybody in the drama performed so well and it was totally realistic to watch. Lee Yoo Bi and Lee Joon Hyuk have done an amazing job and they were bang on. Coming to the supporting roles, I personally loved Kim Jae Bum’s acting.
Conclusion:
Overall, the whole essence of the drama totally overshadowed the dislikes that I had in the drama. This drama will always remain to be my favourite. “A Poem a day” is a unique and a must watch drama. For the people who are reading this review, I strongly recommend you to watch this drama and experience a beautiful feeling like I did.
