Date at night

4 men and 4 women live together for 5 days and 4 night. The twist? They go on dates during the night and have to sleep together in the same bed. I was intrigued by this idea immediately, because people are more vulnerable at night.

I'm really into dating show lately so I know what I like and what I wanna see. The show is overall good in my opinion, but there are some minor problems for me. Nothing bad but since I'm reviewing, I'm gonna be honest and avoid to spoiler names and couples.
1. It is too short and I wish I had more time to watch some of them interact. Especially one couple, it is sad because they really made my heart flutter
2. The trailer at the beginning of the first episode and the editing at the end of each episode are a bit too misleading for my taste. When I like a show I naturally wanna see what happens next and I don't need anxiety from imaginary situation. Plus some scenes from the trailer weren't in the show.
3. Only two couples can go out each night, so some couples can't go out for a second time because there's no time and there are different rules to choose a date every night.
4. The way they chose the last date was bad, I mean, the fate date should be the first and not the last when people have an idea of who they like

I really hope to see a season two with more time and different rules, like more possibility to go out ot maybe an indoor date with the same rule: sleep together. In this way you can create interesting dinamics at home too and people have more chances to get to know everyone. I really recommend to watch it!

I'm confused

Started good, it was interesting at first and then here come some holes and no sense. Don't get me wrong, I watch a lot of web series and I know that usually they are not comparable to high budget long dramas. I'm not talking about dresses, bad glued wigs, sets or acting. I'm gonna point out what didn't work for me, it could have been a great drama with just some better writing or explanations.

First of all the ML started to show the typical signs of falling in love with the FL. And then boom, they were lovey dovey in just a second, when exactly the FL fall in love with him as well? I don't know. It was giving butterflies at first but I don't like when they cut out the love story development.

But let's talk about the scheming marchioness and his son. One moment they seem to be accomplices and then out of nowhere the son accuses her to have killed the father when he wasn't even there and the ML was already blamed for the death of the father. How did you know dude? You were playing dumb the all drama and now you're a genius? Nah.

The twin sister of the FL appears and everyone discovers the truth about the sisters and it's basically useless for a while, just to show a fake quarrel between FL and ML. I thought at least the marchioness would used this information, but no. Then she magically remembers everything and solve all the problems at the end.

I mean, it's not as bad as some dramas I watched but it's too much for a short drama. If they cut some scenes and developed others in a better and clearer way, I would give this drama an higher rating.

Not the dating show you imagine

The show takes place in a gym that opens just for 24 hours. 8 gym lovers (4 male and 4 female) enter the gym and through 5 rounds they compete and get to know each other. The female and male winner receives the date ticket and can choose who invite. Only the winner can refuse to go on the date (for example if the male winner choose the female winner she can refuse and vice versa), while the low ranking people must go to the date if they are chosen.

It is really short and not the typical dating show filled with conversations, but rather a gym challenge with some moments to talk. Currently there are two "seasons" or "days" on YouTube, each of 7 episodes. The first 6 are the gym episodes and the last one is a sort of reunion where the cast answers some questions and briefly talk about the dates.

Overall it is fun to watch if you like physical challenge and have zero expectations for the romance portion of it, but if you are looking for a proper dating show, maybe this is not your cup of tea

Really short

8 students share a house for 5 day, there will be a romantic connection?

The concept is nothing new and the episodes are really short, it's hard to know the contestants and have time to see their interactions. It's a light show to watch when you have nothing to do or you just want to relax, it's drama free and there are no panelists. If there will be a second season, I think it's better to have only 6 people or make longer episodes, in this way the viewers can really focus on each character

This show started well and the idea was good, but the delivery was underwhelming

First of all, some of the summoners seemed so invested in their first love during the presentation, but they changed idea quite easily. I know that it's possible (especially in a shared house with strangers that might caught the attention), but I don't know, I feel like they had no clue about what they were doing. Compared to Exchange, where some of the couples met after years, the chemistry was way too off. The overall vibe was friendly more than love related and this made the show strange from the beginning (are those real couples?). I anticipated way more drama and love triangles, but the dates were a little bit boring and there was no effort to really get to know the others. Plus sometimes I felt like there were gaps or maybe they didn't show some of the interactions making it hard to understand some signals.

Also the panel didn't was entertaining as in other shows.
If you don't have dating shows to watch currently, maybe give it a try. I finished just because I was curious to see the final choice, but I think there are better shows if you are new in this field.

I leave you some suggestions:
- if you like shows that involves a lie or hidden truth, you can watch pink lie and love catcher (my fav seasons are 2 and Bali)
- if you like shows that involves ex you can watch exchange and change days
- if you like shows with strangers living together I recommend Heart signal (both Chinese and Korean version) and love alarm clap! clap! clap!

Meh...

Okay, but nothing great! (My review doesn't contain spoilers)

I watched this show right after pink lie and I was a little bit disappointed, I'm gonna tell you why:

1. There are too little activities, it's hard to create interesting dynamics between the contestants
2. I don't like how the show is focused on the same person, especially during the first episodes. I could barely see some of them until the first 1-1 date
3. I don't like how the females treated the new girl, they were not welcoming at all the first night while the males were good to the new guy
4. Most of the contestants seem hard to interact with or too busy to think about themselves to talk with others

In general the vibe of the show is that most people doesn't really put an effort to try to know each other and some of them constantly switching the vote gave me the idea they were on the show just for fame and not for love. In pink lie the feelings are more genuine and you can see their emotions. Here I didn't have the same feeling, but maybe it's just me. They stay in the house for only 7 days so I expected more especially because the time is limited and you have to create as much opportunities as you can.

If you don't have nothing to do, you can watch it but if you want a show with lies involved I recommend pink lie and love catcher (season 2 and Bali)

A little bit disappointed...

I'm gonna start saying that this program is really good in general and a lot underrated, but I have my reasons for the rating.
I watched season 1 and then season 2 and I preferred the first one. At the beginning I genuinely thought there were only two girls, then when I saw the bus with a blurred circle next to shiqi I guessed there was a mystery third girl on the bus waiting for them. But then I realized something was off and I discovered that one of the original girls was completely cut off the program due to some controversy. I don't like when this happens because there are a lot of missing scenes and shiqi wasn't show a lot because of this and it's a shame. He's really sweet and thoughtful. Plus there were a lot of stickers to cover her and a lot of places not shown, even when they says the number of people there discrepancies between the Chinese number and the one written on the subtitles. It's a pity!

I also found the dynamic between the twins weird, especially in the first episodes. They seem too much focused on not hurting each other and almost scared to make a move. It's normal, but I don't think it's a good addiction to a program like this, especially because they don't seem to really talk in private and explain their feelings to each others. Probably a lot of people disagree with my point of view, but I skipped a lot of their scenes since I felt uncomfortable watching them.

Overall, if you don't mind these things, I recommend to watch the program. There are a lot of good participants and some sweet moments, especially from one couple.

Not my favorite

It took me ages to finish it because I had to wait for the English subs. I liked the idea of the show even though it seemed more focused on the flirting side in the first episodes, then it felt like a normal dating show. Sometimes their interactions were a little bit weird, almost unnatural in a kind of way. Also I feel like they could show so much more, each episode is 1 hour but there are too many confessionals (too repetitive) and I would have liked to see more from some couples.
It's not a bad show, the surf is marginal if you're looking for it. Overall I had fun watching it but it's not the kind of show that gives me butterflies

An interesting concept

How this show works: two people of opposite sex are chained together (the chain is long 1,5 m and it is attached to the wrist of each person) for a specific time each day. They cannot break the chain until they receive a signal from the production. So this forces them to do everything together, from walk to cook, to sleep, to go to the bathroom (in this case the person who goes into the bathroom leave the chain on the door knob and the other has to wait for them while being attached to the door).

It not a show full of dates and I want to remark this point because I saw a lot of people dropped for this reason. Also one episode is only 60 minutes and with 8 episodes there's not a lot to show. I would honestly prefer longer or more episodes and more dates but overall I enjoyed watching it. It's on the lighter side, definitely not a rollercoaster in term of emotions, but it's good if you just finished an heavier show that made you cry. It can be improved for sure with more activities and screentime because the idea of the chain is really interesting.

The panel is not too present but ok, I think most of the time they miss the point

Short but fun

9 fitness lovers (5 men and 4 women) live together for 5 days trying to know each other better to find a love connection.

I really enjoyed this show, the contestants are pretty active and most of them tried to talk to different people instead of just focusing on one, even if they had a preference. The pace is fast and there's no judge panel, which I prefer. Overall I liked all of them except a couple of people, they were too much in my opinion.

The only bad side is that each episode is only 30 minutes. A lot of shows have few episodes and the vacation is short as well, but at least the episodes are long enough to show more conversations and activities. In this case I wanted to see more, so I hope that if there will be a second season they will add more screentime!

I couldn't finish it

How this show works: 5 young women and 4 young men live together to find love. Sounds like the average dating show but there is a twist: they've never been in a relationship. So they have zero experience in the love field and the dynamics are different from the usual.

Why I dropped it:
- most of them are quiet and passive, so it's a little bit awkard
- the pace is kinda slow compared to similar shows
- the music is a little random, sometimes there's silence and other times the music starts, plus I didn't enjoy the selection

This is just my personal opinion, I watched 6 episodes but I found myself searching for other dating shows, I wasn't even curious to see the final couples (also, if you don't want spoilers, avoid the comment section, a lot of them are about a specific couple)
