Series starts out at a fairly good pace but it quickly got a bit repetitive. You get the regular adult children being ordered around by their parents like they can’t think for themselves. You got the richer looking down on the ones with less money. The main difference between this series and other cliche of life dramas was this one just really didn’t feel like a conclusive ending or a happy one. It was just an ending. I invested lots of time in the main couple and then it crashed and burned. Not what I was expecting.

This was most definitely an interesting match. I’m not sure what I was expecting but I am glad I watched it. Although it’s not an overly romantic series which is my genre it really does delve into family ties, loyalty an honor on such a strong level. I most certainly enjoy the overall theme of the series. Truly does chronicle of the life of the main lead from her very birth through her middle-age life. Although it was not a very fast paced series I must admit that it was really good because it showed the internal wars instead of just the external. While most of these series like these show war and politics, I enjoy the fact that this one brought light to the conflicts of women in that time and the things that they had to overcome and endure in addition to the sacrifices that they had to make. It was both refreshing and saddening because our main lead really did sacrifice a lot but it showed how she was truly honored by nearly every person that she encountered and I don’t mean superficially or in vain I mean guide they really look at the courage, loyalty and the truthfulness of the person and that’s why she was really loved. I also love that this series greatly ties three siblings together although they seem to be on their own path a little later this Siri still managed to show their bond and love and loyalty overtime to each other but with great conflict. It is a really great watch I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for one that they can learn about the older Japanese culture and possibly a little selflessness in the process. You’ll get a great deal of plotting, some action, lots of heartwarming moments and so sweet moments but there is little to no romance in this although love is apparent.

This is an older tawainese drama. The series revolves around a humble girl (young woman) decides to leave home to grow and earn money to help her family and a boy (young man) who’s is devoted to growth and his parents. It’s not overly exciting but it does portray how family plays an important role on an individuals perception in addition to our ability to decide to succumb to hardship or erupt from it.

Along the way, these two individuals who came from very humble backgrounds were able to live a comfortable, loving (though not financially rich) life, giving to those when they were able to.

Series does display conflict between family loyalty and chasing your dreams. It also displays how love, grace and loyalty can make the little you have feel like riches.

I rated it a 6, not because it was bad but because it was very slow and somewhat uneventful.

The series started off really good. There was some mystery, clear thoughts of hate, real devotion and more. You’ll definitely get a mix of action, plotting and drama. The revenge plot is nothing unique however there was a twist in this plot which gave a different vibe.

What I enjoyed most was the acting. There skills were great and they did a great job displaying the characters emotions. I also love a good hate to love drama and this one definitely came with those elements.

Where it fell short for me: the relationship was too turbulent. Trust was never established. Loyalty was misplaced by greed. The behaviors/script of each lead made them both seem ridiculous, i.e, once you’ve crossed a certain point, your revenge plot is stupid and if you’re so in love, you really can’t be oblivious to your lovers feelings. This series was long and I felt that the romance aspects of this series fell very short. Our leads had a few good moments that was shortly overshadowed by plots, misunderstandings, poor communication and lack of trust. This went on to the very end.

There some mystery, good action, bits of humor. Overall good blend. ML was very entertaining and kept me curious about what he’d do next. The Fl character was smart but her behavior toward the ML annoyed me too long. Not a rewatch for me. Had potential. I watched up-to episode 24 then got a bit frustrated. So first, if you’re in it for romance keep moving. There’s a marriage but it’s a bit coldnesss from one side almost to the very end, well past ep 24. Too long for me

Acting was good
Plot was definitely different
Romance aspects not so great
Chemistry was occasionally present

In terms of acting. I enjoyed it very much. The music was okay. The plot was a little interesting as well. What I enjoyed the most was the ML role. So often in these like lai horns you see the ML act oblivious to the main girls feelings and being ridiculous about trying to manage multiple relationships. In this on, what stood out to me the most to me was that the ML did not allow the 2FL to drag him around by the nose. He wasn’t ignorant and he was not a pushover. I enjoyed his firmness the most. In terms of the FL, I liked her character in the beginning but after the halfway point, it got boring. She was smart, strong but I felt just a bit to depressing. She rode her feeling from an insult in episode 1 all the way the the 2nd to last episode. That’s just way too long. For me it’s not romance, it’s torture. Her feelings were initially hurt and the writers rode that out almost to the very end.

In addition I’m a sucker for great romance series even the ones that involve some complexities and little triangles but this one was unique in the sense that there was definitely love involved but there was really no romance. Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking about making out or anything what I mean is that there was no togetherness or unity or any sort of agreement until the last 10 minutes of the series. So you never really get to enjoy them excepting each other‘s feelings or officially dating or officially saying that they love each other. What you will get in the series is a matter of pushing and pulling for the first few episodes and then at that point it is a matter of stubbornness and pursuit. There’s no real relationships that take place between the two leads until the last 10 minutes of the series. So if you were looking for like a sweet romance where people are dating and fighting all odds and all that good stuff this one is definitely not it. They do seem to have OK chemistry but the FL had for her stance of a brick wall against the ML up to episode 14 so it wasn’t really that swoon worthy. Enjoyable somewhat if you can put up with a deranged girlfriend.

If I can described this in a few words, I would say “a person carrying hurt and insult is not entertaining.

I had this in my que for a while. When I saw it was finally fully subbed, i as so excited. I’m most certainly a fan of the ML and I’ve seen the FL in other shows as well. ML being my favorite, he is able to bring to life nearly anything he stars in.

So it pains me to say, this was not what I was expecting. It definitely fit the synopsis but it never really hooked me. First the supposed age gap things seemed so wrong. Then the stepmother!!! Yikes. Mixed behaviors leaves the viewers bewildered.

Older guy, younger girl. Ridiculous behavior by supposed family. Immature things. I didn’t know if I was watching a teen drama or a mature on. Lastly, there was zero chemistry. I don’t care how they play the love music at different scenes. It just wasn’t there.

Overall, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. Don’t expect this epic romance. Don’t expect the slow burn romance. The expect mature romance. Just don’t expect anything.

Family drama. Series revolves around the oldest son of farming family and his dream of getting an education and pursuing becoming a doctor, while also supporting his family. It places emphasis on how family responsibilities , loyalty and your wishes can collide. This was a slow series that never really picks up.

While I would love to say this was a romantic series, I cannot. It was more about loyalty, love, responsibility and compromise. (Think sister wives ?)

What I liked about the series was that it showed a great bond between siblings and also a mothers determination to ensure he child had a chance to succeed.

What I didn’t like about it was the plot/storyline. The pacing was slow and somewhat boring.

This could have been enjoyable but I couldn’t honestly enjoy this. This is most certainly not a slap/kiss series. This guy literally abducted her outside the home. Dragged her to a remote place, tortured her and repeated raped her. And because he grew fond her, they all lived happily ever after. I can accept a little aggressive but what this man did turned my stomach. I’m not exaggerating. Imagine a female getting rapped and tortured repeatedly and then decided oh, I think I love him, trash.

What I liked about the series was that it was short and the acting.

The series was unique in the sense that it covered what appeared to be actual historical events. I could be wrong but that’s what it seemed to cover. It’s tied into the story both family and loyalty.
Overall I enjoy this series. I will admit that there is more fighting and betrayal than anything else. Although it had a romance tag there was really not a lot of it. You do get the sweet elements of I love taking place and you will get a little warm and fuzzy vibe but there was so much separation and fighting that it really just seemed like a war film. Although all the fighting was not my cup of tea the writers did find a way to tie in the family and include the importance of love, heritage, inheritance and loyalty.

To summit up the theories was pretty good. If you are looking for a romantic series I honestly couldn’t recommend this one but if you are into the slow really really soft romance you might enjoy this one. Another thing is that the series seems to be surrounding an actual historical event which is clearly displayed here with the fighting and lives being lost in the impact it had on families. So if you’re into historical films this one might be one for you. It’s not too graphic but there’s people leaving home and fighting and coming back and some not coming back. For the most part oh I didn’t get really attached to any one character.

Although I enjoyed the series, this one is definitely not a re-watch for me because it wasn’t that captivating. I stuck with it in hopes that it would get a little more interesting but it really just seem to cover facts.

Extreme

Ball of confusion and everything for the making of “don’t date him” and “someone needs help” show. Y’all this was fifty shades of crazy.

Nearly everything was extreme. I got to be honest, I’m really getting tired of these lakorns that have the male lead forcing the female lead into a relationship through deceitful or bullying ways. And we as the viewers watch as the initial toxic relationship turns into love or shall I say, push/sweet talk her until she forgets all the wicked crap.

To make matters worst. We had a mom in a relationship with the dad, then the daughter marries the son. I was so confused. So the stepsiblings got married or the parents didn’t marry they were just close friends.

We got the psycho ex who goes after the unknowning new woman (just what we need, plan the female who had no idea you existed).

Our male lead was no knight in shining armor. This wasn’t your typical misunderstood guy. He was cold to those he should not have been.

Extended family was evil and crazy. The sibling and they mama was outrageous. The family members weren’t any better.

This was one of the first dramas I’ve watched and got so annoyed by the villain I just skipped their parts. One character talked trash the entire show. I mean her character was scripted to just say kill them, your beneath me and other garbage. Nothing else,

Not romantic at all, not even 1%

This was one of the most ridiculous lackhorns I have ever seen and I’ve seen a lot. There was no real plot. The main lead (couple) Boulder get along for 99.8% of the series. The hated each other, then he stopped hating her but she kept hating/bickering with him/saying hateful things to him until the very last episode. I’m not saying she didn’t have a reason to dislike him but to watch the hateful/spitefulness from ep 1-34 (entire series) is a bit too much.

Let’s talk about how things played out in terms of the unification. It’s somewhat believable from a dramaland standpoint it when you look at the overall scene, it’s quite degrading.

If your looking for something romantic keep going, it ain’t here at all. Not an ounce, not even 1%. I gave it a 5 star for the music and acting but the story/script/plot was honestly just trashy.

Spoiler below

Our ML essentially marries someone while maintaining his girlfriend. She was always around even for dinner and occasional pop ins. Even if it’s marriage in name only, the events are not only unbelievable but ridiculous. It’s laughable but can’t even be looked at as a comedy. It’s like watching a person driving the wrong way on the road with a smile on their face. You in turn raise your eyebrows and twist your lip, like what the heck is going on.

The series was good but I was not prepared. It has some intense moments, some cute moments and most certainly some “my eyes are leaking moments.” I like the FL personality. She was determined and didn’t let pride stop her. Let’s not forget she was smart and capable. Our ML was funny and cute and absolutely made me grab the tissues. The only thing I don’t like about the series is the title. I thought I was getting a cute romance drama but this is not light and fluffy. It’s sweet, yet heartbreaking.

If your loooking for a light hearted romance keep moving. If your looking for drama, with tons of feels, you may like this.

A unique series with great potential. I’m a fantasy fiction fan, Olympian, percy Jackson, etc so I was hopeful for some action.

Not what I was expecting but it was okay. I honestly thought that I was going to see some controlling of the waters and powers shown but that really wasn’t portrayed her. I believe that it was truly a missed moment. In truth I was really expecting some sort of fantasy, action but Nope.

It was somewhat dragged out and uneventful. There was parts near the end that were unexplained and it had that famous, we met again ending.

Amazing acting

First I want to that the FL is such an amazing actress. I mean truly. This series started out really well and progressed well toward the middle. The events, the acting, the chemistry were all great. It was truly heartfelt. My issue is as you get near the end of the series you experience the senseless push, pull. One runs away while the other chases. Then it switches around. By the end I was like “be together or just make a decision.” I loved the supporting cast their relationship really seemed to have more depth and let’s not forget that there was real growth with them.

What I like most was the acting and the plot was unique.

What I disliked was that they dragged the separation on so long between the leads. In addition to this our supporting cast seemed to get a better ending in terms of closure than the main leads.

Overall good series, I just really wish the ending was better. It was just too weak for such an emotional series.
