All I can say is dear goodness. This series was excruciating for me to watch. Yes I said excruciating OK. I need you all to understand that my review is based on my perception as an adult. I believe that the younger and I mean much younger population would enjoy this I however did not. This series was about high school students with a crush. You know the kind where you keep a diary and draw hearts in but never say I like. This kind. These kids go on to college and their behavior mirrors that of high schoolers, literally.
I don’t honestly dislike it because the cast was immature, I disliked it because for me to see a person change their life goals to follow someone is not great or to see someone so infatuated with someone that they completely ignore the realities in front of them, it’s toxic and it’s scary to me. There was no real plot, no major events. Just a bunch of immature people infatuated with each other. Sadly it took about 25 episodes for our crushers to acknowledge their feelings. This is tooo long for a 32 episode series. So what we got was our female lead being pursued by those who wanted to be with her and her disregarding them to be with someone who hasn’t acknowledged or shown a love interest in her. This went on for many many episodes.

The positive is that....the acting was good.

I was really hesitant to watch this after reading some of the reviews but after powering through so many episodes I can completely understand why some people gave it a high and why others gave it a low review. The series starts out somewhere upbeat and really entertaining. The banter between the two leads will be just enough to get you hooked. Our male lead is somewhat devious in a pleasant sort of way and the female lead is head strong, brave and tough. Of course you get to enjoy all of this banter between many scenes of politics and plotting.

The synopsis has already revealed that a female lead lost her family and was seeking revenge or justice. This plot of hers is how our leads cross paths. Initially you will find their banter really cute and you get the feeling that this is only going to get better and better. I honestly had a hard time figuring out our mail lead. This man did an amazing job portraying a strong person, a smart person, a weak person and a cunning person. His facial expressions were second to none.

What I liked about the series is that it is a historical film and I really do enjoy watching historical fans and if you manage to tie in a little bit of romance that is just a big bonus for me. I am truly not a fan of political plotting however the relationships of the royal family was so unique that you really somewhat hope that everything worked out fine. For me I found it somewhat odd that I actually like the villain. Not because they were feelings but because of the scene they were in with their brother and father and even their nephew at times were quite hilarious. This is rare that you get to see our villainess people in a somewhat comical yet plotting manner.

Now for the hard stuff. What I did not like about the series was that thing that hooked me in somehow died off. That’s right it was completely eliminated. That banter between our two leads that was funny and get you wrapped up for more of their entertainment died when or female lead entered the palace. Our feisty, brave, outspoken and tough female lead turned into a submissive palace person. It was a complete 360° change. I am really not exaggerating. It was just like she made a decision and that decision meant she was humble submissive and whatever else you want to call a person that don’t talk unless spoken to. That most certainly ruined it for me because her personality and our male lead personalities were on fire to begin with but because her personality change it just turned bland..
In addition to this, watching the beginning of the series you would naturally assume that there was gonna be this great love, great chemistry but oh was I wrong. There was no amazing love. There was no amazing romance. There was no amazing chemistry. There was no amazing anything about the relationship between the leads. It was just awful. She essentially turned into just another person that is obedient to the emperor and it was no longer fun to watch. After a major turn of events, I don’t want to spoil anything, our smart cunning and strong male leave turns into someone who does not handle pressure well. It was so conflicting and confusing at the same time.

If you’re into historical films and politics you’ll like this one. If you’re into historical romance I would advise you not to cheat yourself because you won’t get it here. This is 62 episodes of politics and plotting. Don’t go looking for love in this place. It ain’t here. Lol.
90% politics
10% palace/harem/romance

The acting was good in the first 22 episodes and it was entertaining. Anything after the 22 episodes was just a blur for me. A blur of going to war and plotting. Not exaggerating.

Awesome series. It was packed with action and amazing fight scenes. There was good chemistry between the two leads. I enjoyed that it had a great plot that remained consistent. Unlike some that seem to lose track. Series revolves around male and female lead and the people they love. It covers the commitment to principles, love and the lengths and sacrifices that they go to protect it. You’ll get a great blend of action, fighting, crazy wanna be girlfriend, plotting, a little romance, great chemistry, loyalty and determination. Ending was pleasing. No cliffhangers. I recommend it for those who are interested in historical fictions.

OK, this was seriously not what I was expecting. I originally thought this was about a spoiled right girl getting into a sticky spot but it isn’t at all that. She’s not a spoiled rich brat. She is smart, confident, kind and hard working. Completely different from so many other rich girl/boy kdrama. I have watched several series that have originally aired on Netflix and they have been blunders. This one was surprisingly refreshing and fun to watch. I laughed so many hard on some scenes. There were many scenes that were heartfelt and that made you feel like you wanted to cry too. I can only give this series a 10. It was unique, funny, heartfelt, romantic and a had some action to go along with it. Even the small fight scenes were good. The leads had an amazing chemistry and the supporting cast really felt like a major part of the series. Their presence was felt and if they weren’t there you’d notice, I seriously grew attached to all the cast.

Love, loved, loved the series. This was so different and fun. The supporting cast had the personalities that made you laugh or cry. I knew when I saw them on a scene something funny was about to be said or happen. They were brave, somewhat smart, loyal to a fault and honest. Loved the female lead as well. Her personality was authentic and just yes.

Watch it. Get ready to laugh, laugh and swoon.

Definitely a Gem.

This series was surprisingly good. It is a bit slow paced but it was consistently endearing. I’ve watched many Jdrama’s and this one is by far one of the best I’ve ever seen. Aside from the initial awkward moment, it’s genuinely a well written series. No supremely weak and and easily manipulated females. No forced dating. No weird triangles. Just good friendships, communication and humor. I loved how supportive the friends were towards each other and how they treated each other like family. It was a very warm series. There were some sad moments but so many heartfelt and funny moments too. I highly recommend this and will most certainly put it on my rewatch list.

Watch it now: the synopsis doesn’t give it justice, neither does the promotional image. I seriously waited weeks to watch this series. I considered h it while it was on the air and put it off. Then I was super bored and decided to just give it a try. In all honesty the title, synopsis and promotional image for the series didn’t seem that appealing to me. But my thoughts were so wrong.

I have not watched a series with this much heart and love and loyalty and a very very long time. And I am an individual that goes through series like glasses of water but this one is by far one of the finest. I

The synopsis for this should be completely rewritten as such:
When life gets hard, God can put you in the right place at the right time to get the help, the love, the support and the people you need in your corner to help you overcome it. When you think you have nothing to offer and there is nothing more in life for you these people find that not only are they people value but that there is more to life than the hardships that they have faced. They discovered that they had strength, love, friendship and so much more to fight for. Through friendship they discover love that they never saw coming, strength that they never knew and. Family they never had.

My southern interpretation ?: When I tell you this thing was good I mean it, OK. Yes I got frustrated during some moments but I could understand the reasoning behind the individual behavior that made me frustrated I could completely get it I could not be mad only frustrated that it was taken place that’s how good it was. Of course it is not without the antagonist, yes that crazy rich lady and greedy old guy but it does not surpass the good.

Our male lead had everyone wanting to marry him. Yes he’s the rich guy who knows he’s rich but unlike so many of the other series that I watched this one is different. He’s a rich guy who has a heart that shows he has a heart and goes after what he what he wants without fear of judgment from others. He goes after what he wants without a care to money. He didn’t let money dictate his life for his love.

I absolutely love historical dramas and if you add in romance that is a major bonus for me. I was hopeful that this would give me the warm and fuzzy I was looking for.

The series starts out at a descent pace and you get an opportunity to see our two leads in their youth. It was fun and gave you the young love feeling. Their personality/character was revealed in the beginning so there is no mystery about whether or not they are bad or good. You can just tell. You will get a lot off political scheming and a hint romance (that’s right a hint). Although our leads performed well together you you don’t get to see the real chemistry between them together/together. You know they have feelings/love each other but you don’t feel it.

This series definitely highlights reform int this culture in the sense of foreigners, trade expansion and etc. I believe the overall premise for the series was growth of the culture, Progression and adapting. Well displayed.

What I enjoyed most about the series was the acting. The overall plot was well maintained.

What I didn’t like was the the lack of clarity and gaps. So many things were left out. How do I know? There were so many 3 years later or 1 year laters. After a while things got a bit confusing. There was a sudden infatuation by a character. Just strange. In truth, after the female leads identify was revealed I couldn’t understand why she lived where she lived and why these people were left to care for her. These things made absolutely no sense to me.

I do love the male leave. He starred in a similar series title “princess man. “ Some of the same events happen.

Important notes
-90% politics
-little to no romance but you do get love
- nice fight scenes.
-no redemption for those that were done wrong (yeah, you heard me)
-no major power plays (aka -shocker moment)

Romantics stay away from this one.
Happily ever after lovers steer clear.

Watched so many episodes of a relationship developing only to have the writers dump it. I hate the fact that they gave me hope and simultaneously stomped it. I mean this after many episodes. It was ridiculous and annoying. I lost track of the plot and essentially gave up trying to understand any of it.
I really tried to power through all 78 episodes but I found myself skipping around once I got to episode 50. This series is extremely long for this type of genre. It started out somewhat slow and I almost dropped it but once you get to around episode 8 or 10 it gets a little more interesting. The beginning episodes revolve around the two leads and their relationship to include how they met and how their relationship developed over time. There were some politics in the middle of it but there was that relational aspect that somewhat kept it more interesting. I really enjoyed how their relationship developed over time and watching what they went through to help each other and be with each other. However, that all changes around episode 30ish. That fun and sweet relationships that you saw growing and found entertaining went into the trash. What began with a strong female lead with a sense of justice, bravery and loads of common sense appeared to turn into something else. I just really couldn’t like it anymore because it was too unrealistic for me. Two people meet and develop a bond and ultimately fall in love. One person made a choice due to situation (gets married, and has kids)that derailed the possibility of a relationship going further, Although his love was strong. After that, the person that was left behind spends her life alone and supporting the person who abandoned her. Miserable. This is truly not my cuppa tea.

I cannot recommend this to my hopeless romantic‘s at all. I got the melancholy, sacrificial love vibe all over again. It’s not cute. In addition to that it’s 78 episodes long, 90% of the episodes is political and routine scheming. Lead became a annoying repeating record. I found it rather difficult to really like any characters. This included the two leads. If you’re looking for a romantic drama you need to look somewhere else. If you’re looking for historical romance, again I advise you to look out somewhere. If you’re looking for some political plotting and scheming with a hint of love you might like this one. FYI there is some good fight scenes in the beginning but that ends around episode 25. There were several inferences to sexual assault that was distasteful. It was not bittersweet. It was gloomy and the ending was stupid.

I wouldn’t say the ending is awful but it’s not a happily ever after one that leaves you smiling.

Not worth it

I have no idea who comes up with the titles for the series but this thing was anything but a brother trap. What we have in the series is essentially a clearly grown up woman who meets a person that she likes sadly she discovers that he is a younger sibling to somebody she dated while she was in high school. This is where the supposed Drama begins. I will not rate this series higher than a six simply because although it showed that the siblings had a sense of humility it also portrayed the characters in a way that seemed inconsistent. I fail to understand how you would supposedly surrender your love to someone else as if they were yours to give away. I see that cliché type of thing happening often in these dramas however that is a major no-no to me.

There was no mystery in the series. There was no real romance in this series. There really wasn’t even a love triangle. It wasn’t like two men were really fighting for this one female. It was simply a realization and oh well I’ll surrender you because my brother still likes you. That type of stupid stuff. The only positive spin on this series is that the female lead wouldn’t accept being pissed off. The negative side of this is she actually went back with the person that tried to hand her off like she was a commodity. Normal people would’ve walked away from both completely. Alas neither she nor this series were norma.

I was trapped watching this thinking that it was really a trap..

I’ll start by saying that if you enjoy the original you will enjoy this one. I have now officially seen them both. I was a little hesitant to watch this one as I feel somewhat strange about the first one but I decided to give it a shot hoping that it would take a different approach however it did not. The positives; the cast did an amazing job portraying the characters who they were intended to be. Their emotions were evolved very well and it was very convincing. The supporting cast were good as well. I have nothing negative to say about the acting, the wardrobe or the quality of film however the plot itself was a bit disturbing. I felt the same about the first one. To summarize they have essentially turned a victim into a spouse.

I have watched a similar series but for some reason I didn’t get the same vibes like I got with this one. This one was a little eerie. Please don’t read below if you don’t want this boiler. What we have is our female lead who went away for a while and came back to discover that her boyfriend had not only cheated on her but had also gotten married. He was very apologetic and continue to make attempts to get her back. Once the wife’s brother finds out about it he then lies to the girls parents that he defiled her and that he loved her and wanted to marry her just so he could make sure she was unavailable so his sisters husband wouldn’t go back to work. This twisted part is that the parents dumped her (her being unaware) off in the middle of nowhere with this guy and left her there. He essentially harassed her and bothered her to the point that he started to like her. As a viewers I assume that we were supposed to empathize with him and hope that they would end up well. As a female I was again, Disgusted by the fact that the writers thought it was sweet for her to fall in love with somebody that lied on her, harassed, stalked her and caused her family to look down on her for his own reasons. To make matters worse she had no idea that he was her ex boyfriends brother-in-law. Other events take place and he pretty much kidnapped her and tortures her. Long story short they love each other again and live happily ever after.

This is the most twisted crap I’ve ever seen. Not only was the male leads behaviors equivalent to that of a psycho, her parents willingness to hand her over was even more disgusting. I did not find this romantic but I did find it creepy and somewhat disturbing. I don’t care how many fields of flowers you walk in the whole plot and was sick and unromantic. I gave it a 6 for the acting.

I was absolutely blown away by the script, the cast and the chemistry. The writers did an amazing job with this script. Whoever did the lighting during the filming was able to capture not only the night scenes clearly but also distinctively. The series was so good, I actually rewatched episodes and clips while it was still on the air. The acting, the plot, the chemistry, the intelligence and the humor. You get it all as well as tons of action and anticipation. You’ll shed a tear or two. You’ll be mad, happy, want blood and smile so hard. Just wonderful.

The overall story is about two people who encountered hardship in their youth uniting to establish their own sense of love, justice and peace. I am so thrilled that the leads were both charming and smart. There were no senseless games or fights just pure witty and authentic commitment, love and determination.

I would put this series up there with ten miles of peach blossoms and the lengend of fuyao. No cliffhangers, just clean and clear and amazing ending.
Hats off to the young female actress who played “Rong’er” she has some skills. I’ll definitely look for her in future films.

First of all this was an exceptional technology series. It is really interesting to watch and had some amazing insight into how many people communicate or choose to communicate today. For me, this somewhat exposed how dependent people are on technology and how we often connect more with technology than we do with other people. Being lonely, creating your own world and friends is what society has become.

It was very symbolic and heartfelt. I enjoyed the upbeat moments and the internal conflicts that were exposed and conquered. A bit thought provoking.

What I did not like about this series was the female leads behavior. Although the series was about artificial intelligence and I do know this is TV, I still found it quite strange that there were parts of this series where it seemed like the female lead cared more for a computer than another human. That just didn’t sit well with me and it just seemed irrational and weird.

I finished it through to the end. It was good, sweet and a good pace. The history of the characters came together well. The plot was consistent and the pace stayed true. If you’re into technology, robotics and artificial intelligence you’ll enjoy this.

Must watch.

This was surprisingly good. I really loved it. I was hesitant based on the synopsis but I’m glad that I watched it. It was very unique. The storyline was one that I’d never seen so I was definitely always wondering what would happen. I think the build up was good. There were few and short lived misunderstandings. Things were cleared up well and the ending was great.

Bold ML and a clever FL. The chemistry was one scene which made it even better.

You’ll get the obsessive person, the scheming person, the vengeful person, the deceiver, the lover, the chemistry, loyalty, brotherhood, good fight scenes and I do mean gooood. ML was a beast. Love, love, loved it.

Not happy with this one!

What can I say? Not a big hit for me. Both ML and FL are great performers but their acting couldn’t pull this off no matter how good they were. The story wasn’t consistent, had many plot holes and ultimately a rushed ending. The leads fell in love but I couldn’t understand when. The FL had powers but you never really see them. Powers were sealed but no one knows why! They were unsealed, no one knows when. I’m really not sure what the story was about. Really!!!

Not a rewatch for me.

I am repeatedly asking myself what planet the script writers are from. While the series isn’t awful. The senselessness and immaturity of the female lead is crazy. Her friend is even worse. There’s nothing more annoying than watching an adult pout and cry like a kid over something small, like seriously, your favorite cookie is gone but it’s too petty to cry over. Her friend also seemed so wishy washy it became as irritating as a rash to watch her. The relationship between the leads was so so but their behavior was even more so so. My goodness, it was so frustrating to watch at times but because I was to far into it I didn’t want to just drop it. The rationale of the cast was supremely unnatural. An example: I dated you for years, you deceived me and cheated me but I’ll still date you even though I know. The situations were realistic as in, it could happen but the reactions were just inhuman. No one and I mean no one would just let things go just like these people did. One minute someone is angry and not talking, the next minute they’re smiling as if nothing happened. I’m looking like “how did this happen”.
Karma was absent for 90% of this series. Romance decided not to show up at all and social reasoning and common sense responses/reactions was often napping while filming.
Again I wouldn’t recommend this to a mature person, it would be appalling and ridiculous to them. If you can stomach clingy females, ridiculous reasoning, wishy washy people and whinny bits you’ll like it, however for me this was a big No no.
