Good premise
I really liked the idea—a time slip gender swap. First couple episodes were hilarious. Unfortunately turned into a subpar sageuk. I actually really like sageuk, with all the political drama included, but the writers really missed a lot of opportunities for anachronistic humor and examinations into Bong Hwan finding his feminine side. That said, it might be a good starter for sageuk newbies as it’s on the lighter side and doesn’t assume you’re well-read in Korean history. I actually prefer Scarlet Heart Ryeo for a similar feel but a deeper understanding. Was this review helpful to you?
