1.Our drama opens with Xiao Fan (rather cutely) practicing giving a pastry he made to Lin Er. He spends so much time practicing that the girls dorm opens and the very serious/stoic Xue Qi (?) comes out and judges him for not concentrating on the competition (well, she is right, but she didn't have to trample over his feelings..). Xiao leaves, eats the cake, and thinks of everyone in his life who has essentially said the same thing. Unable to finish eating, he flings it away.
2.We go to the competition: everyone thinks they are being supportive but they don't realize that their words are only making him feel worse (for ex, winning doesn't matter! come on guys). The moment he produces his weapon, the crowd laughs. After all, yesterday, somebody used a dice, today its a torch...
3.After he is knocked down, Xiao begs senior to 'give it his all' i.e. he knows he has been fighting him half heartedly. Now the real fight begins! Xiao wins overwhelmingly so, causing all the students to accuse him of cheating and using demonic magic (it should be noted that the torch emanated power after he was cut but it is not clear if it is blood or hate that empowers it). The students back off when Senior tells them to but even the leaders ask Xiao what kind of demonic treasure he holds--but Xiao defends it and calls it his 'treasure'
4.Zheng Shu Shu (goofy guy, in love with Xue Qi), Xue Qi, and Xiao hang out for a bit as they are teaming up to look for the thief who attempted to steal the treasure (the competition prize: Nine Rights Cauldron)
5.Later, as they wait for the thief, Xue Qi and Xiao are alone. Noticing that her eyes keep following him, he asks her why, and she admits he is 'full of tyrannical aura' and that he should be careful :/
6.Of course there plan is to use a decoy Nine Cauldrons. OF COURSE the thief sees them switch it out, doing all the hard work for him. Naturally he steals it from them. Now they have to chase it down. They manage to get it back, but still get into trouble. Not being idiots, the sect leaders knew someone tried to take it. They placed a spell on it so that when the thief tried again, they could track him down. Unfortunately, the students foiled this by interfering. They get yelled at.
7.Everyone continues to underestimate Xiao Fan's ability (with reason) (I kind of feel bad for him, having to bow his head constantly) (I mean no one has any confidence him to the point that they are all watching Lin Er, the only other student to move forward besides him)
8.Now Xiao Fan is stuck wondering if he is winning (because he continues to win) because of his own skill or because of the torch he has (also, he can't even remember the move he used to win...is he the re-incarnation of somebody?)
9.Jung Yue (his best friend!) confronts him alone, challenges him to a fight, even though he does not want to, and essentially challenges him until he fights him. Jung Yue wins, but Xiao does not use his 'special move' i.e. no magic etc. Yue accuses him of using evil magic, and asks him how he came by the torch, and accuses him of lying (!) this seems a bit over the top. I think Yue is jealous.
10.We later learn that anybody who learns martial arts from two sects is breaking a big rule, gets expelled, martial arts broken (Xiao dejectedly asks this of a friend)
11.Not only does he win (and only after he was yelled at for not fighting back), but his win infuriates other sect members who are convinced he is using demonic magic. Even a 'friend' punches him in the face. Only his sect brothers defend him.
12.After sect leaders arrive and break up the fight, the students under Tian are lectured. When his shifu asks him, Xiao admits he is able to be so skilled because of a magic treasure matched to him. His teacher says that only someone who has mastered level 4 magic can be matched like that, which would mean that he learned magic behind his back (he has only been taught up to level 2 magic). In truth, Lin Er has been teaching him the third level. However, he doesn't sell her out, but punishment could be to reflect for 10 years or exile....

1.We open up to an extremely inconspicuous (sarcasm) Xiao following Ling Er. With the moonlight and flowers...it is clearly a love scene...He moves to step forward but alas senior brother Qi is the reason she is there! He watches their love dance, her playing coy, Senior Qi confessing....(Poor Xiao...he was in the friend zone since episode 1) It is actually a very touching scene.
2.Unfortunately, Xiao's luck goes from bad to worse. he dejectedly wanders off and attracts the attention of the immortals spirit guardian. But he leaves again...
3.After trying to understand the reason for the immortal spirits behavior, and having no answer, sect leaders see Jing Yue who reports to everyone on the Boss incident. He tells them that the evil sect had acquired the Heavenly Book, containing 5 types of martial arts, and whomever masters it can be the leader of evil sect. It is supposed to be in Wan Fu ancient cave (Thousand bats ancient cave) also the training place of elder black heart also vanquished by chusen sect's ancestor ....
4.Tent Thousand Sec & He Wan Sect are also on the move, ready to take Kong San Mountain in the future. This is important because the top 4 ranking people in the competition will be sent to Kong San mountain to investigate evil sect's movements
5.The competition begins. Ling er kicks ass, and then after, our poor hero feels like she will run into his arms...but she runs past him into Senior Qi's arms! (aww, poor baby..)(sorry with all the shows with girls loving the same guy it is slightly refreshing to see a guy placed in the position so many girls are in...)
6.Meanwhile, ghost princess is burning incense for her mother. We have a flashback, and we see how her mother died, not because of her injuries, but because she revived ghost princess...After this flashback her father tells her to say away from Chusen, that he is going into seclusion to recover, and that they have a spy somewhere...
7.Someone on Chusen (masked) steals the special treasure that was the competition price/supposed to be used to aid the winners...

Okay, I am really wanting to like this show so I am back for more. Unfortunately, the earlier episodes had a lot going on over a short period of time (more likely I am just slow) so here I go again...
1.We open to Xiao Fan (Seven) speaking to Ling Er, who is especially skilled at preparing medicines. She has been putting herself in danger by searching for the right ingredients to take care of him and now is excitedly looking forward to helping Senior Qi (my apologies if I spelled that wrong)(Also, it is rather refreshing to see a female main character not in love with the male lead most of these shows feature women all in love with the same guy). Interestingly, her newfound hero worship of hero may be arousing some jealousy in Xiao who, up until now, seems to have enjoyed a special friendship with Ling Er
2.Xiao is summoned before the old married couple (shifu and lady shifu; she was lecturing him for his harsh treatment of Xiao) and is questioned about Ling Er's location. Every loyal, Xiao plays dumb. He is again yelled at for not improving in magic; Xiao's suggestion that he learn martial arts is laughed at (basically) and after Xiao Hui (the little monkey) startles his shifu he is told that if the creatures is seen again then he and Xiao Fan will be thrown out. Shifu reminds him to spend his days in the kitchen (I can't tell if he is just short tempered, impatient, or genuinely concerned for Xiao and views the kitchen as a safe place) while lady shifu looks not very pleased with her partner.
3.While kneading bread Xiao acknowledges that he is not the smartest (like Jing Yue) or the strongest (like Senior Qi). If anything, he knows his limits...(nor is he a romantic, he can't seduce LingEr, he admits)
4.While enduring Ling Er's tantrum Xiao finally sums up enough courage to tell her that he doesn't like her with Senior Qi. She snaps at him. Only afterwards does she realize the implication of his words.
--Ok I see why this is interesting. I feel like he is going to be the next user of demonic magic (not necessarily evil....)--
5.'Treasures Recognize Their Magic' (I WISH!) and so it seems that Xiao has a wand of some kind in his position that acts as a medium. Anyways, this is very convenient because in one month there is a 7 palace martial arts competition. (To be honest, I don't blame Ling Er for falling for Brother Qi that palace gets such pretty costumes and everyone seems so elegant/refined from that palace...I guess that reflects the master, while Master/Lord Tian is much more direct, short tempered, wheres his heart on his sleeve)
6.Senior Qi gives Ling Er a thank you gift in front of everyone. This makes both Tian (papa) jealous because that is his daughter and Xiao jealous because she is his first love
7.After a lot of training, the sects prepare for competition. Xiao still cannot fly by he is assisted. He also learns that you can fly into the highest palace (where the big kahuna sect leader dwells) because of an anti sword enchantment
8.Xiao Fan and Jung Yue are reminiscing when unbeknownst to everyone Xiao Fan's torch glows red, awakening the guardian dragon. Sect leader calms the dragon, the disciples leave the area, and he then investigates this mystery...
9.Xiao Wen is number 1 for the competition. That evening he is thinking about his first encounter with the immortal spirit/guardian dragon and how it also reacted. he wonders why it always does that when he is around....

The goal: free the hostages
1.Mystery girl, or 'M' is massaging Lord Dog. It seems that the hostages were brought by the Boss as a sacrifice for his 1000 year old blood fish
2.Xiao Fan has found a sect member there, also infiltrating the organization, by the name of Brother Xio (this will get confusing)
3.M. gets a badge from Lord Dog after knocking him out//we learn from Xiao Fan's conversation with his Senior brother that junior sister and brother are going to free the hostages. Senior Brother expresses concern because he assumed that the elders would come so he did not mention that there was a scary demon guarding it 0_0
4.After a series of fighting, they suceed in rescuing Ling er. We learn that M is Bi Yao. While they escape, Xiao Fan stays behind to fight, but since he, well, isn't the best fighter the evil sect leader steals the special stick he is (related to the blood pearl) because he recognizes its connection to the blood pearl. Even though the noble sect is invading, sect leader doesn't seem to care.
5.Bi Yao returns and we learn that she is the daughter of the ghost king and a woman named xao zhi--apparently he killed her mother, and she wants revenge-
6.Through the mighty power of team work Bi Yao, Xiao Fan, and I believe Jung Yi manage to defeat him. The volcano collapses...
7.Because he isn't volunteering info, Xiao Fan is punished. He worries that his teacher hates him, but shifu's wife seems to think otherwise.....Jing yu and Qi Huo (cassanova guy?) seem to be the geniuses that Xiao Fan is constantly compared to and it happens again here...
*This episode was more interesting and I am curious to find out more about ghost princess and other plots....

1.It seems Li Xing Sect is attacking, and LIng Er has run into the leader. She is kidnapped. Jing Yu & Xiao Fan gain permission to find her. They go to the book shop (the owner looks like the leader of the Li Xing Sect). While Xiao Fan plays the part of fool very well, Jing Yu gets into a fight with the girl who tried to scam Xiao Fan...
2.Li Xing leader escapes not just with Ling er but with more hostages. Meanwhile, the Chusen sect leaders theorize that he is seeking an object (gee, i wonder what). Xiao Fan and Jing yu gain permission to continue to pursue them. During a fight in the woods, we are joined by the princessy girl from the book shop, the cassanova kind of guy who lured Xiao fan int into the book shop--but it is the mysterious scam ar5tist girl who saves them all...
3.She won't reveal her identity, but she explains she came because she owes them since they helped her out during her pursuit of the evil sect. She lectures them for not knowing the secret of the Blood Bamboo Forest (she broke the curse)
4.The mysterious stranger has a brief flashback to her childhood, of her fleeing with her mother...back in the present she says she wants Boss Nian dead (who is this guy?)
5.The students are perceptive and it seems she has a broken heart bracelet...so her background isn't simple...

1.So this prince looking guy was Jing Yu--how come he looks like a prince and Xiao Fan looks...so not like a prince? Interesting....(I hate it when they think knowledge corrupts people...essentially this sect is forbidden from entering this shop because some of the books are about sex. Come on people. Anyways, the brother who lured Xiao Fan in is supposed to take the blame while Jing Yu & Xiao Fan catch up)
2.It seems this incident is a big deal. Ling er was the one who talked him into leaving the mountain but it seems Tian forbade Xiao Fan from leaving the mountain without his permission. On the other hand Jing Yu, who is head of the Discipline Committee, is lectured for offending powerful people in addition to not carrying justice out fairly (he let Xiao Fan off)
3.Xiao Fan is even humiliated in front of his sect brothers because he cannot even use magic yet and Tian states it is causing him to lose face. However his buddies jump in and say that he is a very good cook
4.For reasons unknown, Xiao Fan has a buddy in the woods, an old guy whom he takes care of, and talks to about his personal problems (he seems shady). I also think it is sad that Xiao Fan does not realize that he might make Ling Er fall for him if he continues to protect her...on their way back they are attacked by the hooded man again...
5.Sect leader (silver hair guy) arrives and we see another battle scene. Both Tian and sect leader suspect something will happen soon....Xiao Fan devotes himself to learning (it is quite funny disembodied heads of everyone talk at him...)\

1.Xiao Fan was given the Blood Pearl, and he is unable to sleep, not because his parents were killed, but because he is recalling what the stranger said: destroy the pearl somewhere secret, unseen (I really wonder if destroying it is a good thing because that guy was pretty shady)
2.Xiao Fan gets out of bed and eavesdrops on a conversation between Elder Brother (Tian?) and a female teacher: they are discussing how odd it is that someone would target such an obscure area, and that only those two survive. They speculate that it is a demonic sect seeking to learn blood magic
3.Xiao Fan sneaks out to see Jing Yu, and then they are attacked by a mysterious robed figure. But Xiao Fan's shifu (Tian?) and the sect leader intervenes and saves them (we are treated to a nice display of swordplay and magic). The attacker flees.
4.Xiao Fan explains he thought the evil sect would return, so he left to investigate (unfortunately, as a viewer, I can only commend his bravery but shake my head at his stupidity--what was he going to do do?)
5.Jing Gu's shifu essentially points out he is weak and encourages him to use a 'special kind of hate'(?) to take down this enemy
6.I don't know what they were eating before but Xiao Fan should have no trouble fitting in as he now makes the food--later, after a charged teaching lesson Xiao Fan swears to be the guardian of the world. Only then is he allowed to enter Tian's sect
7.Although she is very young, Ling Er is very advanced (Xiao Fan is told on the first day of his trainings to cut down bamboo for three years not sure if this is true or a trick or hazing, anyways she shows up and makes him airborne)--in sharp contrast Jing Yu receives personal training from his sect leader from day 1....
6 Months Later
8.The kids look a little more grown up. Jing Yu's swordcraft is so excellent that it compares to his master. His master explains to him to not rush, that he needs his assistance in some matters, and to not lose his motivation when he achieves revenge....
9.In stark contrast, Xiao Fan is adhering to what I like to call the 'wax off, wax on' treatment because it isn't readily apparent how cutting bamboo trees can help him but he's doing it. Ling Er Explains that her father has them do this to strengthen their wrists and fundamental abilities....
Present Day
10.Ling Er continues to show Xiao Fan special treatment, even flies him out to some scenic places so they can spar (I thought she was the main female lead but it seems she isn't?)
11.We catch a glimpse of competition within this sect--Jing Yu's teacher seems rather smug that his student has progressed farther than Xiao Fan, who has trained a lot longer. But I bet the latter's patience will pay off....
12.Lin Er seems to be mischievous as she and Xiao Fan head to market with some of her father's prized magic grass (she even has an excuse for when she goes home)
13.I think we meet our female lead--she tries to swindle Xiao Fan--she reasons it is his fault for not checking the money immediately--he says she still owes him--
14.Xiao Fan and some other guy go into a book store (the owner looks like the owner of the blood pearl) and there they spy a princess-looking type--she seems to mesmerize them. Ling Er is trying to find them and then she overhears that the very shop that Xiao Fan is in has...sex books (scandal!)
The episode ends with Xiao Fan confronting a prince type....
*I liked this episode, the pacing was good, if a little slow
*We are starting to get our characters
*Not sure how I feel about the music.

1.Another commanding general tries to help the starlords escape. They are intercepted by the thugs that Tianjun brought back with him. All the starlords are killed, in front of Ling'er no less. She takes responsibility for stealing the keys. Tianjun tells her she will never have the freedom to move through the palace again...
2.Tianyi shows up to the humankind kingdom because they have Ling'er. He also needs to stop Yu. But the emperor Tianjun uses an unconscious Ling'er to control him. Yu proves he is indeed a complete moron and believes all of the lies Tianjun tells him and is convinced that Tianyi has no feelings...
3.Meanwhile, Tianjun kills the head of the thugs who came back with him. He also shows strong signs of being absolutely crazy.
4.In a move that makes no magical sense, the old man assisting Tianjun tells him that he could become the star goddess's fated love by switching their bodies; however he would only live for half an hour. Tianjun tries it and it seems to succeed...or is it he just temporarily steals his destiny?

1.Ling'er decides to wait in the woods for Tianyi to show up and tell her the reason for all of this rejection. She trusts him. Yu calls her an idiot and leaves.
2.Tianyi shows up and lashes out at her, telling her that he never cared for her (it is an extremely bad act, why would she believe him?)
3.Meanwhile, the regent and emperor discuss the tough decision he has made but it is part of the emperor's job to make sacrifices...

1. Tianjun's number one goal is to have sky city rebuilt....so he wants to find Yu
2.Meanwhile, Tianyi and Ling'er are preparing for their wedding. He is showing her around, telling her little details about his childhood. She expresses a wish that her dad could be there.
3.The generals underneath Tianjun discuss the delicate situation away from Tianjun. They are concerned about Tianjun not having stabilized his power and the people revolting; however the new emperor only cares about sky city and war. They express concern over his personality change as well but don't know what to do.
3.The female commanding general is executed for confronting the emperor for his ill advised decision to rebuild Sky City. Tianjun doesn't seem t care, he just wants ling'er
4.To protect Ling'er the emperor breaks off the engagement. Yu finds her...
5.Because he cares for Ling'er, Yu tries to persuade the emperor otherwise, but because he wants to protect her (and doesn't tell anyone why is a mystery) he refuses. Yu angrily tells him to not come near her again....

1.So the moment the emperor gets wings, she is healed. She has to go see him! Yu asks her if she could abandon Tianjun, and she apologizes and says she doesn't want to but there is a mysterious force calling her...She HAS to find Tianyi, she says (and Tianjun hears all of this)
2.Tianyi senses Tianjun is in danger, saves her, they have an argument over the 'princess' issue. He tells her it was never him who slept with her but the guard. They make up, Tianyi is going to be officially crowned emperor, looks like she will be his queen...
3.Meanwhile Tianjun continues to suffer pain, is now scarred, and then he meets with that creepy old gate guardian guy who seems to like stoking negative feelings in others and seems to be encouraging him to seek revenge (also, he doesn't seem to have known his mother died...)

1.Ling'er admits to Tianjun that her heart belongs to Tianyi and that she cannot return his feelings. Essentially we learn that he has an eroding bone nail in him (that was what Jishu placed in him to make him feel unbearable pain when he has strong feelings for Ling'er) Yu tells Tianjun to stay away from Ling'er because since he cannot control his feelings it will kill him
2.Yu tells Tianjun a cautionary tale--that even though he supports their love (he hates Tianyi) he nevertheless doesn't believe Tianjun can make her return his feelings. Forced love is wrong (recall, his sister suffered because of this--she was a victim of someone forcing their love on her and also tried to force her love on another)
3.The regent essentially accepts that Ling'er and Tianyi are soulmates and pities him because he has a difficult to choice to make--he could lose his throne or lose his lover (i.e. throne probs via war, lover if he uses her goddess powers? i think i am not sure about this)
4.Meanwhile Yu is trying to help Tianjun move the bone nail...Tianjun confesses to Yu that he is willing to chance death if he can't love Ling'er...
5.After it is removed Yu tells Tianjun that the instructions say he cannot get up for 3 hrs and no one will know what happens if he does get up...so of course the regent shows up to take Ling'er. And Tianjun gets up. Tianjun falls over, drops the 'yang' amulet and it shows that Tianyi is the true love (i.e.he awakens)
6.Tianjun tries to kill Tianyi but Ling'er blocks him....(recall, Jushu said that he will only have a chance if he kills the fated lover...) Tianjun says why would she do that, since he is her doom, and she says that even if he is her doom she loves him
7.Yu and Tianjun escape with Ling'er; the regent can't pursue him because Tianyi is incapacitated....General takes him back and Tianyi's body is on fire, it's so hot and he keeps yelling random things...
8.Ling'er is not doing too well either. I do pity the prince because he rejected her because it hurt him to be near her (because of the bone nail) now the wingpeople officials are discussing overthrowing the emperor because he can't grow wings? turns out he can! the emperor has golden wings!
*at this point this drama has gone from predictable to making not a lot of sense. i am just enjoying the ride!

3.While getting drunk in the woods Tianjun finds Ling'er....for reasons unknown Tianyi just HAPPENS TO BE PASSING BY and sees Ling'er and hears her tell Tianjun how she wants to go back to the old days, that she likes him still. She kisses him, and Tianjun is in agony because he likes her so much. Tianyi looks enraged.
4.Meanwhile, Yu takes the body of his 'sister; and Tianjun and Ling'er are going to go back to his hometown when regent and emperor intercept them...regardless of what she wants she is still an important political pawn. 1.Ling'er comes back and begs that Yu be released. Tianyi has her arrested and orders that whatever punishment Yu receive, she receive. He also says he doesn't have to have a reason for arresting somebody because he is the emperor.
2.This stubborn idiot basically asks to be tied up beside Yu. Meanwhile the regent (rightfully) surmises that both these people are stupid and temperamental. He wonders if he should help Emperor or not. This may be something Tianyi needs to do on his own. Or perhaps the regent is concerned that love will ruin his life the way it ruined his?
3.It seems the empeor may have aided and abet in their escape and Tianyi wonders out loud how two people evaded the emperor (basically saying he know what he helped them) They go to Yu's home. Yu insists the emperor must care about her because he let her escape.
4.Ling'er returns...to see princess. Princess tells her that Tianyi took her chastity (lie). Now Ling'er decides to break up with Tianyi and returns his necklace and leaves him
5.Ling'er returns to Yu, asks to be home, and breaks down in tears and ask chisu (i guess not dead) what should she do?
6.Tianjun is clinging to life somewhere, staring at the yang amulet, and he is thinking about how it is used to kill the flower deity...
7.the lonely Tianyi now believes that maybe Ling'er was a test. The regent says that at least his throne is safe. Tianyi visits princess who performs a dance, and collapses in his arm, sobbing about how pitiful it is that she is going to die and Tianyi holds her, crying. (does anyone not die in this show?)

3.Meanwhile Tianyi and Ling'er are two happy love birds...just as he offers her the crown Chisu shows up again to cause problems. Ling'er (for reasons unknown) has to go save Tianjubn (he killed her dad, she thinks!)
3.Tianjun runs off with her...thinking she is there for him but really she is there to kill him. She plunges the dagger he gave her into his stomach
4.For reasons unknown, Tianyi doesn;'t know that she stabbed him. He insists she must have Tianjun in her heart, (also, he killed Chisu...) and then goes to see princess who is dying (out of guilt and their being friends he is trying to help her I mean he knew that his friend raped her)
5.Because she won't eat, Tianyi decides it would be a good idea to force feed her with his mouth. Unfortunately, guess who walks in??? Yes, that would be Ling'er...
