Great premise, stupid characters
Was really excited for this as the premise seemed interesting. Then we were introduced to Death. She's an annoying child throwing a tantrum because, according to her, humans don't deserve to kill themselves. She says there are way worse pain than living a crappy life. I guess people being sexually trafficked, liked the gangster's girlfriend, should just go on living no matter how hellish their life is. Oh, and she doesn't like being "disrespected", as if people killing themselves are doing it for fun.The action scenes and the different lives are interesting, especially the gangster one. Sadly, this Death is not as cool as they could have had her be. She could have had a better reason for the game. Instead she just comes off as petty and silly. I just can't take her seriously with her constant threats, aka constant whinnying.
I know it's based off a webtoon but I honestly think it could have been much better with a different, more interesting reason as to why the game happens.
No hate to the actress. At least she has a cool look.

Most self absorbed female lead I've seen in a long time
I don't usually write reviews for movies but this one made me so mad. There are no redeeming qualities for the female lead. She literally only follows the male lead because she's trying to save her a$$ at work. Clearly she's a bad doctor since in the very first scene she's judging the family member of someone under her care for the way they look. She even only starts treating the patient because she wants to get brownie points from the higher ups. She pays no attention to the concerns of the family member and misdiagnosed the patient because she thinks she's above reproach.I don't understand the high ratings for this movie. The only reason she is a doctor apparently is to make money because from the get-go she's acting like she doesn't care. She only cares about not being suspended because it will derail her career.
The acting was great by everyone but I just can't get behind this level of self absorption from someone who is supposed to be saving lives. Unless they are the villain but this was our leading lady in a romance!

The anime is better.
I had high hopes for this adaptation since I love the game and anime it's based on but this looks so bad. The acting is sub par, the whole thing looks cheap, from the wigs to the sets to the clothes. I really wish they would do a proper live action film with a big budget but I won't get my hopes up.As much as I love anything involving the Shinsegumi I can't recommend this tp anyone. Unless you have time to kill do yourself a favor and skip it. Especially if you love the anime and the game.

Looks stunning as a game, fails miserably as a movie
This movie has a good premise but it ultimately fails to deliver the goods. The acting is sub par. The pacing is boring and the fight scenes are bland.The only redeeming qualities are the incredible visuals, the cinematography, and fawning over Song Weilong and Cass Gai's gorgeous faces.
And, seriously, Weilong needs to eat a hamburger. When the male lead is skinnier than all the female cast you know it's too much. I can't take serious a warrior that looks like he can be blown away if anybody so much as sneezes.
