Heartwarming movie amidst a natural disaster
'Ashfall' is a movie that portrays a disaster caused by Mt. PaekTu's eruption which greatly affects both South and North Korea. It's pretty similar with those tsunami or earthquake movies wherein of course there's a disaster and there will be someone who will save the day. The plot is pretty much the same to others. What stands out here is the set of cast and the small details inserted on the plot.First of all, the casts were incredible in their roles. I actually enjoyed seeing a bromance in the movie and it made some scenes lighter than compared to the issue they're actually facing. I also love that Lee JoonPyeong and Choi InChang's character had deeper emotional involvement about the eruption. A little downside on some scenes that are hard to believe like how they try to steal from North Korea and on how the hell they were able to enter a mine despite the eruptions.
Overall, I liked this movie because there are also side stories that were involved and not just all about the eruption. This will keep you on the edge of your seats and will surely make you cry in the end.

Very realistic crime scene setup that you would really use your brain to solve the crime.
This is one of my favorite show of all times. I like this kind of detective themed shows. I love the feeling of gathering several pieces of clues to complete the whole puzzle of mystery. They are also reenacting a crime based on a similar event that really happened. Then afterwards they have the segment of a specialist trying to relate the case to real life scenarios making it very informative and raising awareness. For the casts, they are really daebak (awesome) because everyone have their unique personality thus making it more fun. Given the seriousness of the Crime Scene having someone murdered, there were bits of comedy all throughout each episodes. Henry Lau's character on the first 2 cases is confusing. I'm not sure if he's really like that or if that's just a concept for him to act crazy. And also I don't like the lawyer on the first few episodes for some reason but still, all the other casts were perfectly fine. They always got me fooled every time so I barely solved and figured out the culprit but still it's fun.
The sound effects are really engrossing giving off the mysterious ambience. I also find them cute every time they get shocked of the sound effects all throughout.
This is really a good show and I'm already looking forward in watching Season 2. I will definitely watch it again after few years so that by that time I forgot already the suspects and would be able to try guessing the culprit again.

Unexpectedly good movie
Usually I find Korean movies weird and usually at the end of the film I would ask myself, "what the hell did I wasted my time for?" But this movie exceed my expectation. It is a story that's a bit heavy in terms of the gangster genre but it highlighted the good side of it's plot which is knowing what your happiness is. Once you know what you wanted no matter how simple it is it will give you the best satisfaction in life. For the casting a usually hate Se Kyung because I feel like she's always overacting but given that she doesn't talk much in this movie, I came to like it. I think serious roles are better for her. With the 'ahjussi-agassi' love story I am not too sure if I like it but at least I didn't find it gross.
This is unexpectedly a good movie so I am looking forward for more K-Movies that will take me aback.

Definitely an upgrade from Season 1
This the second season of Busted and it was really a great upgrade from the first season. The story is still connected from the first season but it's independent on it's own. There's a new plot line to watch for. The episodes are really upgraded from the previous season and it can still wrack your mind because when you're about to make your guess and be confident about it you will never be too sure until it revealed what's true.Changes on the cast didn't affect much in terms of the excitement. The new characters were as good as the previous cast that left. The guests are still high end like the previous season and keeps you from wanting more. The comedy is still there but the mystery will keep you on your toes as the plot twists are unpredictable.
I'm already waiting for the third season. Full season from Season 1 is highly recommended.

The first real 'ex-couple' on screen -- made all the hype
There's a lot to unpack here so buckle up. Here we go~This is one of the prime examples of how to get the right cast. More than the movie itself, most of the people including me possibly got intrigued and watched this because of Joshua and Julia.
As a context for non-Filipinos or someone who's not really into showbiz tea, it may be unusual in other countries but in PH, when an artist is labeled with a 'loveteam' they usually have shows back to back to back. Like all you'll see is a bunch of shows and movies with those 2 people partnered up over and over again -- which is probably the reason why most 'loveteams' do end up being romantically involved off-screen which will make the fans go more wild and the more reason for them to lead on more shows or movies. JoshLia is one of the most popular 'loveteams' on and off screen in the Philippine media so it was a shock to everyone when they broke up 5 years ago. The break up was also mixed with other controversies that beg to ask the question if the cause of the relationship's downfall is a third party -- and caused people to pick sides. I won't be able to tell which is the truth but just letting you know it was a thing.
Fast forward to 2024 and JoshLia is back on screen with their role as ex-lovers. I can't speak for everyone but when I saw the trailer, I went nuts. Since they are real-life 'ex-lovers', it kind of blurred the line between reality and fiction. There were scenes that made me think about whether it was still scripted or were the lines just naturally came out from their past breakup and I think that's what really sold the movie to me. Upon watching it though, I'm surprised that it delivered.
There were a few notes though, I personally think that the Filipino movies have already come a long way, but there's still waaaaay more to improve on our overall movie production. The western movies are way way more advanced than what we have. With that being said, I would say that I did enjoy watching it. There were scenes that I didn't like much or character decisions that were a little questionable even in reality but I guess it still delivered some relatable lessons on relationships -- what things to avoid and what things to do more. Oh, and the lines -- fire ???. I've been thinking about them until we get back home.
While this might not be for everyone. I think it's a good weekend watch -- alone or with someone or with an ex?

4 cryptic and poetic storylines
It's a really short watch but it left too many questions in my mind that I'd probably think about for months. There were 4 completely separate storylines which is really mind-boggling. Also, I realize this type of things is not my cup of tea.I would say there might be a lot of depth on this anthology and I've read quite a few review and critic and I'm so amazed how other people perspectives varies and it definitely help me appreciate this more.
If I'd be completely honest, if I just watched it without reading reviews or critic about it, I'll be just completely lost and think wth did I just watched? So maybe if you're the type of person who thinks really deeply, you would like this.
Also, I love seeing IU portray different roles and totally nailing it. It was just over an hour so I'd recommend it (also reading reviews and critics that will help you puzzle some pieces together.)

Are you ready to meet the Delulu (Delusional) Family?
After a long time, I finally decided to watch this series. I was convinced after watching a couple of clips and when I went in I got so excited. I was too determined that I even used my sick leave thinking I could finish it in a day. That's how fascinated I am with this rich/chaebol drama. Unfortunately, the fun started fading midway as it felt too stretchy. Small wins then big blows which is not that bad, it's just not as exciting for me. I finished the series just for the sake that I want to see how things ended.Acting-wise, I feel like Im SooHyang carried most of the series together with Bae JongOk. They're both powerful actresses that made their characters come to life which is the main reason as well that I kept going.
I personally don't know someone as rich as the same level as this family but the whole drama going on is so fascinating that I'm actually relieved I'm not as rich as them. There's a lot of twists here and there making it interesting but I kind of feel sad how the ending was rushed.
I'd still recommend this if you're into crazy rich dramas/scenarios or if you want to see rich people fight each other with class but might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Very light romantic comedy that will send butterflies to your stomach
I haven't watched Goblin yet but when I see Lee DongWook and Yoo InNa together they look like they have a good chemistry on screen so I decided to give this a try. I wasn't disappointed because aside from those occassional bursts of laughter from me, they really did send me sparks and romance between them. The story overall feels neutral, although there are some 'law' stories going on, it doesn't really delve into that category that much. It mostly kept the romantic comedy vibe. It's not bad yet it's not that impressive.I'm just glad that they made the character less annoying than usual k-dramas. Most of the k-dramas I've watched is a grumpy leading man who fell in love and became a nice guy but in this one they created a male lead who's stern but knows how to apologize when needed and acknowledges his own actions then eventually became a sweet guy (at least in his own little ways). Then we have a female lead who's an actress who's not dumb. Terrible at acting (not referring to InNa because she's great, I'm just describing her character) but is really doing her best in whatever she does which actually impressed me. Their secret office romance is so cute that it just gives off a smile on my face as I'm watching it. The side romances from the supporting characters is also cute and funny.
Maybe the best thing I could take from this series is the OST. Good Night by Jeong Sewoon and What if Love by Wendy is definitely staying on my playlist. I've been listening to these songs for days on repeat and I just can't get enough.
This is one of the classics I think. Not super hype but something really worth the watch.

Bite-sized, one day KDrama
The main reason that I watched this is because it's just 8-episodes and I feel like I need to watch full KDrama in a day and this fits perfectly into that category. To be honest, at first I am hesitant because I'm not into fashion thingy. I thought they'd be too technical that eventually I won't be able to relate but boy, I was wrong. Whether you have an interest in fashion or you're just a curious K-Drama lover, this series is still enjoyable. While I'm not an expert, I feel like the artistry used in this is somehow realistic yet I feel like it's not exactly too detailed (and I'm guessing it's a lot much more different in real life) The friendship among these 4 people is also just amazing (another friendship that I wish I had) the romance part though is not so much entertaining for me. I don't feel any sparks within the main lead love line. (I honestly loved SeonHo with her new boyfriend more although they had limited screentime. His dedication to SeonHo is unmatched really. Then here we have main leads who don't know what they're doing. Even the love triangle trope is a meh.)
Overall, I'm glad I stuck around for this one until the end. Their stories are definitely fun to watch and seeing them giving their all to their profession is just inspiring. If you're looking for a series that is just light-hearted yet you don't have much time, I recommend this.

What did I even watch?
I don't know what I expected when I watched this but I'm very disappointed. It even took me 3 days to finish this movie 'cause I ain't feel like watching it but somehow I know I need to finish it to move on.There's a lot to unpack here. The story overall is messy. It kind of makes sense but not the most ideal way to present a story. When I read the plot I thought there was more to it but it was everything. Nothing more, nothing less. No twists and turns. Just the female lead getting her revenge. The end.
The only thing that I somewhat like about this movie is the classical music that was on the background. It's kind of relaxing after getting pissed by the movie itself.
Not something that I would really recommend to anyone. I was totally click-baited on Tiktok. Although, I should say if you want to watch it why not. Others seems to like it just fine. But definitely this is not my cup of tea.

All you need to know about Japan's 'sex culture' (?)
This was a funny documentary and I love how SiKyung and DongYup actually compliments each other in hosting. The comedian and singer balance kind of makes sense here. The way they react to things are also legit so it makes it more realistic. It was fun knowing this kind of different culture where a taboo thing on the rest of the world is just a normal thing in Japan. The sex toys, the whole AV industry, it was all mind-blowing.
Tbh, the real win for me is how this documentary made me laugh a lot. Unlike most documentaries that are too serious, this one is on the lighter side of things.
If you're not too sensitive about adult things, I think this is a fun watch. If you're a conservative type though, you might wanna skip this one or you might end up having your virgin eyes/mind devirginized. Hehe~

Who doesn't want a little revenge?
This was a unique take about revenge where the main lead devote his whole life for this grand revenge after his life has been ruined. It's just weird as well that the old guy keeps ruining this young man's life just because he didn't kneel down before him. For me, their reasoning and motivations are shallow but somehow they were able to make a decent story out of it.Male lead and female lead doesn't have that much of a chemistry but the female lead really looks cute specially when she's pursuing the male lead. I just can't get over the fact that almost every character in this series is motivated or fired up by something ridiculous. One revenge, another one power, another one is love. But somehow they made it work.
I had high expectations for this series that's maybe why I am disappointed as to how the story unfolds. Anyway, I still recommend this series because you'll learn a lot about life. Like how pursuing something whole-heartedly can take you places. I still had fun watching it.
P.S: Will edit this in the future if time allows.

Most awaited Season 2
I love that they created a new season that has a completely different plot line so even if you haven't watched the first season, you'll still be able to watch it. Some premises changed and the series is still connected on the first season somehow. The stories are just as rich and heartfelt as the first season but is not as structured as before. I love that the main casts remained the same although the villagers were completely replaced. The chemistry is still there and I love the new addition to the family which is Bora. Watch out what her role is to the family. Overall, I highly recommend this drama if you're a fan of crime, mystery, and fantasy drama.

Intriguingly mystic and the plot is so heartfelt
I love the unique plot of finding missing persons and delving into their individual stories. I love how the main plot combines perfectly with the subplots. It started a bit weird for me but it all made sense after a couple of episodes. I started to be really invested on it.I was thrilled to see casts that are usually an antagonist becoming good protagonists. It was so refreshing to see them in new roles. The chemistry between the cast is also so good that I feel like they really know what they do as a team and how they find these people. The bond among the villagers as well is like a tight-knit community. It's so lovely to watch them.
Overall, I really enjoyed watching this series. I am actually on the 2nd season and it's still amazing. If you're into those supernatural and crime genres, definitely watch this.

Are you ready to meet the Players?
At first, the story is so confusing because you can't see the bigger picture yet however as you watch further you'll come to realize it's such a good watch. I honestly enjoyed the bigger picture rather than the individual stories per episode.I also loved how the characters had a chemistry among them. The unique relationship of the Players and Prosecutor Jang is also something that I admire in this drama.
I recommend this drama specially for those who loves anti-corruption series where the good guys try to fight off the bad guys/politicians. This is a must watch really. I'm glad I took the time to watch this series. I really love it's ending as well.
