Surprisingly I loved it!!!
This is a bizarre series, slow-paced and sweet in its own -um unique- way!I will try to explain why I like this series so much, even though admittedly it had its shortcomings. Personally, I like the main couple and their dynamics. It is one of those rare times that we get the chance to see a couple of two similar personalities that suit and complement each other. Both MLs are introverted, quiet and a little bit depressed. I enjoyed how they seemed to attempt to achieve a more happy outlook and get some goals in their lives -especially Mon- through each other's influence. The dedication they both showcase to each other and the support and friendship that progressively turns into something else were the wining points for me. If you're looking for an intense romance, full of declarations of undying love or jealousy outbursts, this would not be your cup of tea. But if you like to see how a very closed off, nearly antisocial guy re-opens up his heart through the care and support of the one person that strives to help them resume following their dreams, then maybe you'd love this as much as I did.
Also, it is notable that the second lead here not only isn't annoying and exhausting as usual, but he's lovely and his intense feelings for the ML do not go unnoticed by the viewer. He is so lovable and honest that you find yourself supporting him and wishing to see him happy and loved as well.
The music was maybe the most bizarre part of the whole series. At times I tried to decide if it even fit the scenes or made them more awkward but after a point I got used to it. Also, having Soh being a music major and having his own band, I think maybe they could have developed their music choices more. This, however, in addition to the long pauses in several scenes. gave you the time to get into the characters' mentality and inner thoughts.
In general, this series is a breath of fresh air that will give you some time to think, relax and appreciate what most of us take for granted everyday. The cinematography is very well done, and the characters are complex and flawed. I got really invested while this series was airing and the excitement for what would come next never left me. They did follow some cliché patterns that could have been avoided, but as it was very mild in terms of the shock element, those moments gave us the chance to get to know the characters and their feelings better. The ending for me was the perfect way to end this series and suited both characters but also the reality of such a relationship! I hope more people give this series a chance and can enjoy it as much as I did!

Cute, quirky, sweet, considerate... Special!
This series said respect and proved it in every sense!!Now that I think about it, this series reminded me of the very first Thai BL I ever watched. Not because the plot was similar or the actors or anything but because of the feeling. At first I felt estranged, trying to grasp what exactly I was seeing, like discovering a new genre. So just like when I first discovered the BL genre I gave it another chance, trying to fully understand how it worked, this time too I think I saw this genre being rediscovered in this show.
The story starts off in a way lots of BLs do, with secret admirers and fans all over the place. What differentiates this series from any others is that it takes the characters that are usually the comedic relief, or the outcasts, or the antagonists and gives them a voice and a story. BLs tend to offer us unrealistic perfection when it comes to their characters. The main leads are usually hot, popular, rich, successful, smart and cool with little to no exceptions. It is often hard for people in the LGBTQ+ community to identify with these characters because, um, not all people are the same and in real life all these characteristics combined are hard to find (and that's the beauty of being a human, being imperfect and unique). I really appreciated and enjoyed that they addressed issues such as body-shaming, cyber-bullying, trans identity issues and even more common but important points like friendship and found family, honest communication between couples and building strong support systems. Really this series was a delight to watch because it was serious when it needed to be but almost always was funny and relaxing.
I am fully aware that this series was not perfect and I struggled to find the "right" rating. I think this series will excite some while others will simply hate it. It is provocative in its own sense and not everyone's cup of tea and that's okay! I am usually generous with ratings but I often think that giving a series a perfect score is a serious business, as I am afraid to be unfair to other potentially better works. However, I still gave it a 10 because this is a piece of work that is indeed worth it. The plot is fast-paced enough with no annoying back-and-forth between the MLs, the couples are explored in a satisfying way and the side couples are cute and wholesome. There were a lot of characters but they are easy to remember and not some dull foils, only there to fill the episode or help the MLs shine. I especially loved Daisy's character and would have loved to see her experience being explored even further.
All in all, I will give the advice almost everyone that loved it gives: Give this series a chance! The first couple of episodes can be a little bizarre and you might get some second-hand embarrassment but strangely this is the charm of the main characters and you will be rewarded for your patience by the series as a whole. Hope to see the issues addressed here in even more series, with the same respect and diversity as displayed in SCOY! ~
