Nice but nauseating
This is a sweet drama, sweet and a bit nauseating, and I found the second lead relationship more realistic than the main leads. The second leads loved each other with all their flaws. The main leads were perfect human beings in a perfect relationship. Most adults know that there is nothing that is perfect so it was a bit fairytale-ish. The cousin was adorable and funny throughout. Twenty-eight episodes were not necessary and really dragged the story out. Overall I enjoyed it but spent a lot of time rolling my eyes. Was this review helpful to you?
Story was much better than the reviews!
I am so glad I was not swayed to drop this Taiwanese drama after episode 16-17 after I read a number of the reviews. So many viewers thought that the perfect ending should have been episode 16 but I disagree. Episodes 17-22 added more richness to the story. I thought the male leader was so natural in this role and was so convincing. The development of the female lead was seen throughout but especially towards the end. I usually watch mostly kdramas. I learned so much about cooking, the cuisine and the restaurant business. This was only my third drama from Taiwan and because I enjoyed Perfect Match so much, it will most definitely not be my last. Was this review helpful to you?

Good Chinese Drama until it wasn’t
I usually shy away from Chinese dramas but I thought I would give this one a try. The storyline and acting were very good, that is until it really wasn’t. What a shame that once again this drama just proved to be a vehicle for Chinese propaganda. It makes me feel like I will never really see the real China. The scene where China takes over Hong Kong was nauseating. All the characters, whether good or bad, forgive each other and they turn around to be upstanding citizens and embraced by all. There is no honesty. The ML’s parents and sibling are all users and ride on the back of their son. He is their cash cow. They mistreat him and yet he is ruled by these horrendous parents. Yet, all end up succeeding and I was waiting for them to start singing “Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya” any second. They become well off and then share their wealth with all their neighbors. It was laughable. The second female lead is villainous throughout and deserts the man she supposedly loves when he needs her the most. Somehow she becomes this heroic figure and is forgiven for all her past sins. The ML and the FL are so perfect except in their own relationship. He spends more time with the SFL then his own wife and son but his wife is sooooo forgiving, so understanding, so pure and good and kind. The lessons here in this drama are so sweet, tidy and tied up with a bow and not realistic at all. I think I’m just mad that I watched every single episode and feel like it was a waste. The only lesson I learned from this drama is to stick to kdramas. Was this review helpful to you?
May have been better with better translation.
The male lead is wonderful and endearing. The female lead is a wreck. Throughout the first 6 episodes she continues to make one mistake after another, which becomes extremely annoying. All the other characters, well have zero character and are just downright awful human beings. At least so far they do. Finally, there is nothing worse than watching a kdrama with 1/3 of the dialogue shown as <.....empty....> Whoever translated this kdrama in English apparently was not fluent in Korean. I am trying desperately to stick with this kdrama until the end but if this torture continues I'm moving on.Okay, translation got better past episode 6. I found Daniel Choi to be such a joy to watch. I absolutely loved his character. No spoilers here other than to tell you it is truly a sweet Kdrama with so many funny moments and some sad.

Is it only me?
Is it only me that is so annoyed and greatly irritated that Lee Se Ryung can't seem to tell the truth even when he is being utterly honest? She already ruined his life with her lies due to her impulsive immaturity and self indulgence but continues with lies even when Kim Seung Yoo admits he will forget the past and listen to his heart. I mean he is basically talking to a complete stranger because everything she has told him up until this point is a big, fat lie. I want to make it through this entire kdrama but the lies are really getting to me.Was this review helpful to you?
