Must watch due to Actors and director

This is a simple story of a girls crush on a boy. What makes it great is the actors and directors magic.
ML- his acting was simply superb. He can portray every emotion on this face and communicate through eyes without saying a word. He made emotional scenes look real and surreal.
FL- she’s well known for her acting skills in the roles she’s done. Whether it’s long ballad or who rules world can display varied emotions on her face. Her high schools girl to college transformation was classy.
Director- has made story heart warming and the transitions are smooth during the times of their childhood to adulthood.

Only thing I missed is both FL and ML were good at showcasing the emotions when they looked at each other. The way it’s said a kiss can tell hundreds of things but theirs was lacklustre one. It lacked passion and was cold when it came in last three episodes. Their chemistry was cool but kisses showed lack of passion.
It’s not the case for ZL if you watch who rules world or love like galaxy.

Waste of good actors and story

Read this review before you decide whether you want to watch this title

Pros:
The cast - the actors are amazing and the acting done was quite well. The crown prince , master woo bin , the villain , second leads FL father , first FL father, both body gurads gona and seong un and the second lead did a good job .

The cinematography - the fight scenes well choreographed, the poppy fields or cherry blossom paths, the sunsets shining in the water, was wonderfully done. Its one of the best scenic beauty movie if you are into those things

Cons:
Waste of good actors: There were two good fighters who were under utilized and could have added more reality to the fight scenes. The crown prince is a good actor but mostly he was a cry baby or fake smiling. First FL was one of the weakest character in the history of drama movies (including the playful kiss and heirs .. adding examples to show how serious I am). Although she is a good actress but her potential was never used. The second lead did a great job (at least the script gave her some hope.. may be cause we give dying wishes a chance) .

The script: I could no longer remember the plot (in desperate hopes to keep myself sane) I lost count how many times the story went wayward. Although the story gist was superb but the execution was poor and the actors had no chance to do justice to the story.

Both ML and FL never looked as if in love with each other (Second FL looked much more in love than those two). That was the biggest down side of the drama. The romantic scenes look empty and their emotions lacking

OverAll Verdict: If you love the cast (if FL or ML is your bias), you love good fight scenes and have lots of time on your hands . go ahead and watch the title

Most underrated drama .. A breath of fresh air

If you are deliberating whether to watch the drama .. please go ahead and watch it. you will not regret it for a minute

Likes:

The ML: omg the lead actor is too good (the USP) .Whether it’s emotion or emotionless, he can nail both the expressions so very well. Praises to be justifiably showered on him.

Characters: the way the characters are drawn it’s very relatable neither anyone is too good nor fundamentally bad. Everyone has a reason to do something and they do fall into the villain category.

Story: it keeps you hooked till the end. There is no suspense and story flows into a smooth stream and takes you with the flow.

Overall: a good drama with good story and a strong ML. Brings out emotions in you so don’t forget the tissues in certain scenes.

You do not fall for a nice decent guy who loves you since ages but fall for a player because you feel he’s changed although he humiliated you, calls you names because you fwb with him. This is exactly what this drama portrays and it’s dangerous. Na bi chooses apparently good looking guy who did all the horrible things to her just cause he says he’s changed. Never in a million years people change their true colors. She rejected a guy who loved her since ages just cause of a player.
This sets a wrong precedence to those who learn from dramas about love.

They could have done a better job either at portraying the player or made our love struck fool a little less innocent so we could make sense of the story.

A promising plot spoiled by cast and direction

Favourite characters:

Byung yeon (The guard):
The mysterious aura and his facial expressions said it all in this drama. One of the strongest character and I rewatched the scenes he was in.( thank god they dint let him die)

The queen:
One of the best character with story arc else every other character is one one sided while queens character had multiple layers to it and she did a good job .

Yoon sung (the second lead):
His character was a saviour of all. Though there wasn’t much ups and down to the character he did a good job playing the character. I even felt sympathy towards the end unlike the other characters where I couldn’t feel a thing.

Story: Though the visuals are good and so is the story. There is not an ounce of reality to it. The chemistry between leads is zero as the story doesn’t allow them to develop feelings slowly and over time. Certain situations are so unreal like hiding behind umbrella ( you gotta be kidding me)

Casting: The drama had potential to be great if they casted better actors. I couldn’t relate to the leads romance nor to the enmity between rivals nor friendship and hatred between characters. If the leads were better same goes with the kings character. As every person in drama makes or breaks it. I simply cudnt watch the romance between leads. I simply waited for the plotting and politics scenes. ( ohh also waited for our beloved guard to take the screen space)

Over all: good story but presentation and casting could have worked wonders. ( for example in goblin and scarlet heart where even smallest role is played by good actors which made them re watchable )

One of the underrated drama

I found this drama on Netflix and did not expect much from it as most main cast were new actors. The story and supporting actors are the backbone of this drama. The direction was fab too.
Story - simple with not many twists and turns but the way of delivery is unique
Acting- young tae , coach yoon and coach Ra with national team coach are a delight with on point acting. Head coach and Hae-in as well as villagers from neighbourhood are good at acting their part. The only thing I felt missing were lead players acting it left lots to be desired.
Direction- it’s well presented story and delivery is its strong point

A must watch if you want those nostalgic school memories or you need a shot of inspiration.

Light , fluffy youth romance

Must watch if you are looking for laughter and good time with good acting.
Watched drama looking at YouTube shorts. The trailer does not so justice to it.
Story- well written and sprinkled with hI’m our. You will be unable to control laughter at situational comedy in drama. You can relate to few incidents in the story completely.
Acting- the ML actor was simply awesome. He can portray emotions effortlessly and he brought kang jiawai to life. FL and supporting characters were good too.
OST - music was good and harmonious with the story line.
Cons - the end felt to be abrupt and it could have been done better.

Overall well acted well scripted funny drama.

Actors can bring characters alive

Strength of drama
Cast- FL was awesome she brought the character to life. Amazing how they got good actors to do even smallest roles. Example FL father , fiancée, the recording owner are well known actors with good acting skills. That was the strength of this drama

The filmography and direction- the setting , the scenery , locations, the way it progressed was very skilfully done 👌🏻.

Ost- pretty cool music as it was centre of the story.

Weaknesses-
ML - LJS is pretty cool actor but not in this drama. Except few scenes like dance scene or the parting scene he dint shine in this drama. He looked rather dull in front of FL.

Conclusion- was rather hurried and did not feel like it was aptly done. The hopelessness of having no way other than the end was lacking and felt like abruptly done.

Over all - cast was awesome so was the ost if only our ML acted upto his immense capabilities (which he has) it would be much enjoyable 😊

Strong suite of this title
Story- it shows reality of schools and it’s students. The depiction of problems faced by modern day students and how their families can support or bring them down is accurate.

OST- some songs are well suited to situations

Weaknesses
The cast -
FL just could not do justice to the role. Her reaction to most situations is a smile and mostly it felt fake.
Second ML was a disappointment too. The romance looked too dull between second couple and failed to convince.
chairman character dint look like imposing father or show any emotions.
Principal and vice principal did justice to their roles.
Second FL though she tried her best to do her part , her part itself was too small.
ML - he was the reason I could endure the series. His expressions , attitude was perfect. The lead couple love story looked convincing only because of the of the ML else FL looked like she was lost throughout the series.
Teacher and police officer were good too

Episode number - the life of story was short but it was dragged too long and could’ve been over by 12 episodes

Dialogues- after a while they were repetitive

FL crisis syndrome- FL was target of every disaster and ML saves her was the cliche implemented over and over again. Along with face that FL was too good to be true as she was always righteous.

Overall - good story ruined by poor acting by the cast

Don’t miss this drama. It’s unbelievably good and entertaining. Brings out emotional side of you. It makes u laugh, cry and scream in surprise. You will rewatch certain scenes guaranteed.

Cast: Goblin and grim reaper are my favourite characters of all time. So is credit card boy. They make u laugh so hard. Even goblins bride is innocent and sweet. The smallest character is so accomplished and good with their acting.Goblins sister in past life, Eun Tak's childhood friend, Grim Reaper's junior though they are on screen for short time they have casted good actors for it to make sure they did a good job.

Story: Exciting and funny with ups down like never seen before. To avoid spoilers I won’t add much. The flow is smooth and very well presented and executed.

Over all: A masterpiece indeed. The music, the acting, storyline, direction everything is too good. My only dislike was second lead actress cause I felt goblin sister in past life was played by a much accomplished actress and I wish they continued her role .
