Honestly, this film is very deep.

I do believe that it can be interpreted in many ways but I think the way it was intended to be interpreted was as a story depicting how young girls are "used" (I do not mean to offend in any way, this is just how I interpreted the film, sorry!). To quote Mitsuko from the end,"stop using us like toys" is what she says, and very much the message that I think was trying to be portrayed.

The story was very.. wild. lol. Jokes aside, it really drew me in, although it did get a little confusing at times. The beginning was very "wtf is going on" but I think the film definitely improves as it progresses, so keep watching!!

Excellent cast in this film, the main 3 girls and Aki were just brilliant. Aki was a very believable character, probably the most believable of all. She really brought a sense of realism into the film, and whenever she was calming Mitsuko, it felt like she was bringing me back to earth too. The side characters (ily Sur!!) kept me interested and the antagonists were.. questionable, at most.. but I suppose they were doing their job if it was keeping the audience's focus on the main characters.

The music was tense when it needed to be, and suited the mood pretty much all the time. I think the music definitely helped induce my hysterical sobbing halfway through the film (pillow fight by the lake T-T ) Others might notice that at the very start of the film, the music is the same as The Walking Dead! Honestly, I think it fits! The end credits are worryingly soothing but OH BOY that didn't stop my crying.

This film left me doing ugly hysterical sobbing.. yet I would still choose to watch it again (and I've seen it twice now) although I'm not sure if everyone is the same as me because this film was just very "up my alley"!

I'm no film expert, this is just my opinion. But if you choose to watch the film, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!

MILDLY ENTERTAINING WITH NO REWATCH VALUE

I started watching the movie b/c the girl to the right (on the cover with her hair tied up) looked like an actress I'd seen in another drama before. Little did I know that I would be treated to one of the most gruelsome gore fests in cinema.

Now don't get the wrong idea, I simply detest gore, but the ones you find here are so gory, they're almost comically so.

In terms of acting, they definitely cast the right actress into each role. May not seem so at first, but by the finale, you really appreciate their casting choices.

Now the story, I don't want to spoil it too much, but it's basically what you get when you put The Truman Show and The Village (both Hollywood/Western movies) together mixed with tearing/cutting people in half Darth-Maul style. This is easily the weakest part of the movie. There isn't a single original idea here. And b/c of this, you find many plot holes here that were easily explained away in The Truman Show, like the camera angles.

Anyways, I thought it was a pretty entertaining movie. But I wouldn't want to watch it again b/c of the gore. Just once is enough...

Thought Provoking Horror

Story: I have watched this film many times and just like many others I’ve noticed in the comments and other reviews was that it was confusing at times. The more you watch this however, you start to understand the meaning behind each scene or start to question what they mean, such as the conversation of Mitsuko and her friends by the water, the wedding, the race, and the meaning behind the entire film. This film of course had some silly and gory (not a fan of gore) but it adds to the entertainment of the film and I feel those scenes have a meaning behind each one as well. I plan on rewatching this again to try and fully understand each scene and character change (you will see when you watch it) and see what I missed.

Acting/Cast: I thought the acting was done well and interested in seeing these actors and actresses in more of their projects!

Music: I thought the music fit well with each scene, making me emotional at times! I like how the main music is from The Walking Dead as well.

Rewatch Value: Definitely a rewatch considering I have watched it multiple times and never get sick of it, haha. It’s something I can put on it whenever I’m bored or have nothing else to watch.

Overall: 10/10 I love this film and love how it expresses many issues that are still seen within society such as how girls and women are seen in society and gender inequality. I have always loved horror films and Japanese filmmakers do it best! I recommend this to anyone interested in a new horror film and those interested in a film that represents feminism.

Rewatch it because you have to.

This is not my favorite movie. But it was fun. You have to watch this movie at least twice just to get all the oh okays out of the way. This movie is a lot like a nightmare or a cutscene and its supposed to be. The pace is very fast. The cast are very cute and the gore is very very plentiful. I enjoyed this mobie for what it was the idea was honestly scary which I did not expect until the end. I will not spoil this movie by telling if you are confused by this movie its okay ride it out there is a pay off. Do not watch if you are weak to gore though this has buckets. This is not a machinegun girl style movie by any chance it has a deep message just roll with it until the end if you choice to watch it. Must rewatch to understand.

Tag yg judul lainnya Riaru Onigokko sebelumnya dah pernah dibuat dlm beberapa versi. Dia nyusupin sebuah isu yg kurasa berkaitan dgn gender.Krn awalnya hanya ingin nonton sebuah gorefest, jadinya aku agak gak siap saat mulai sadar kalo Sion Sono punya agenda lain di sini.Jd mungkin aku gak bisa menangkap seluruh pesan dlm film apalagi Sion Sono nampilinnya lewat simbol dan metafora.

Untuk sebuah splatter film,Tag ngasih liat kita salah satu death scene terbaik di 2015.Sebuah bis yg berjalan tiba2 terpotong jd 2 dan semua penumpangnya (kecuali 1 orang yg kebetulan lg nunduk) termutilasi dr bagian pinggang ke atas.Pelakukanya siapa? angin. Hah?! ya gak salah kok, pelakunya Angin yg berhembus seperti pedang hingga mampu memotong tubuh.

Sion Sono menjadikan dirinya sbg sasaran kritik dr dirinya sendiri.

I'm not sure wtf I just watched, I think that was one of the most confusing movies I've watched recently. A lot to unpack, a lot of wtf moments and a few genuinely pretty interesting and symbolic moments. Delivers the message with the subtlety of a nuclear bomb but also somehow leaves me dazed and confused as to what exactly the whole message was. The parts I did get though I thought were presented in an interesting way.

Legendary opening sequence, the whole movie was very well directed, good job @Sono, and CGI was used very well and seamlessly. The music was good if a bit repetitive at times, but it didn't detract from the movie. Packs so much into 85 minutes, the runtime flies by. Worth a watch if you are ok with Sono's craziness, sometimes gruesome imagery, and a really confusing story.

A vida é surreal
