If I took this drama by itself, without having seen the original, I would like it for the kiss scenes alone- sweet, hot, romantic kisses abound. But it lacks some things the original had that made it so memorable for me. I felt like it rushed from one high point to another, rather than slowly letting the characters reveal who they were and letting the relationships evolve. Comparing the two, one is fast food, and the original is slow cooked home style. They both have their attractions, but give me a warm meal from home anyday.

I think the best word to describe this drama would be lukewarm.

It was cute, it was entertaining. But it lacked spark for me. I don't think the chemistry between the leads was there. When they looked at each other I didn't see love. There was just fondness at best, like when you gaze at a loved pet or a young child. The OST had to work hard and pull a lot of weight to infuse some more feeling into a lot of the more emotional and pivotal scenes. Yay for ballads I guess.

I also had some issues with the characters and plot, too. The ML was quite abusive in some of his behaviors and the FL was too meek and floormat-y for my liking. Plot wise, I found it really dumb how the story basically went from "forced/arranged marriage" to "we could never get married because one of us is rich, the other isn't, and our families and society would never approve". It was so dumb. Like the first episode never even happened. Not to mention the fact that in this universe, apparently, super rich people somehow don't interest the media at all (and receive absolutely no news coverage ever) and are un-google-able ?

Fun, Funny, Simple and Cute

Firstly, It was so fun to watch this. It was acted in 2016 but I decided to have a 2009 mindset because their mannerisms were from that time. If you can go into it with that perspective then it can be fun. It’s very simple and lighthearted, which is what I wanted when I started watching it. A lot of it can be perceived as very sexist so if you hate that then you can stay clear. But like I said 2009 mentality lol. It was more fun than I thought it would be and has half the cheesy lines in this entire world loved that. It was funny too. I wasn’t planning on watching anything too serious and so many scenes were cute. I feel like this review is making very little sense now?

So as one of the comments sort of says only in Dramaland does this count as a fluffy Romance. (@green_tokki)

There's nothing new about the story as you can tell by the synopsis but that's not a problem if the cast and writers put it all together well. Contract relationship, rich man poor woman etc. etc.

On the whole from the eight episodes I watched they didn't do too badly, nothing intense, nothing special it just concentrates on the Leads relationship. Which is touted as one of it's strengths but for me it's the fatal flaw. Without any background buzz to soften it the ML's abusive behaviour just becomes unavoidable.

She's supposedly strong but apart from a couple of kicks in the shin she just gives in to everything. Unsolicited and supposedly unwanted kisses? I'll stamp on your foot but still do what you want, let you drag me around by the wrist =, barge into my house, whatever. Creepily help me make something by awkwardly sitting behind me and putting your arms around me? Fine. Drag me into restaurants, cars whatever..

Friends brother you've known for years? You can't talk to him, drags her away from him; can't call him Oppa, I nearly gagged when she was being all apologetic about forgetting and saying Oppa in the car.

She gets a bunch of flowers from a student (admittedly a young idol) and is carrying them when she sees him- without knowing anything about who gave them, he throws them in the bin and drags her off.

She dresses up after overhearing him saying how dowdy she was and all he does is panic about other men finding her attractive. No compliment, no pride in having an attractive fiance, nope, covers her up with his coat and drags her off to get changed. Tells her friend off for lending her the clothes. He likes her dowdy and unattractive to other men.

Physically aggressive, controlling, manipulative, unpleasantly jealous...What a twat! Got to the point where I disliked him so much I didn't care if he changed and just hoped she got counselling to help her stop being a victim.

I feel ashamed it took me so long to drop it.

Fluffiest drama with the best chemistry

I am writing this review after my second watch. I came back to this because the chemistry of the actors is out of this world.

The story is a total cliche. And the premise for why the two get together is classic kdrama bs. What makes this drama different for me is that the main female lead isn't a complete pushover. She can sass the male lead and put him in his place, and she's the only one who can do that. I absolutely abhor cardboard female leads that are just made to be walked all over.

The couple's relationship isn't perfect, but that's what makes this so much better. The characters act reasonably, and conflicts are resolved in a reasonable amount of time, without being dragged on by uninspired writers. The fluff moments are beyond cute due to how happy the two main actors seem to be when they're together.

Overall, I would rewatch this again and again.

Least memorable drama of all time

I haven't seen this drama on anyone else's list, but I started it cause I heard good things about chemistry between the leads. Despite the drama being fairly fast paced, which retained my interest, I think the plot itself is entirely forgettable. The ending wrapped things up really nicely and made me pretty emotional. I seriously wasn't a fan of some of the aspects of their relationship, however, such as the guy trying to control what the girl wears all the damn time and the girl thinking it's okay to hit the dude if she's mad. I don't condone physical violence in a relationship even if it comes from a woman rather than the man. No double standards please!

A love story so enjoyable to watch !

No need to say too much, this is kind of modern cinderella love story : no chance this is to happen in real life !

So enjoyable to watch, every girl would like to have such a handsome boyfriend even though he seems not to know that a girl is not just an object or a toy you can control as you like ! The guy is a jerk but he finally tuns out to be so considerate... I didn't like him that much at the beginning, but I just loved the couple relationship.

Very nice actor's chemistry and many everlasting hot kisses make you share and feel their love ! I was just thrilled and hooked on this couple.

I enjoyed this K-drama very much. Please yourself and watch it !

A run of the mill romantic fantasy

If you are looking for something cute that’ll make your teeth hurt with little character development but sweet romance, then this drama is for you. Whatever you thought of after reading that synopsis you are probably right. This is a shoujoesque webtoon coming alive. It’s a collection of cliches, but I have nothing against them if they suit my taste. Unfortunately, this drama is really mediocre for me. But it’s not the fault of the show, but mine because I’ve seen so many stories like this. I do like the chemistry between our leads. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s there, kind of. I just wish they had a better script to work with.

I am grateful that the episodes averaged around 40 minutes, since it’s all very bare bones. If I had to guess the average rating for this one, I never would’ve guessed that it would sit in the 8s and I do think that’s an overestimation. I mean this has the same rating average as “Coffee Prince” and... I guess I find it weird. But who am I to judge other people’s tastes? Even I have some shows that I like that are in the 7s,so. Anyway, my main complaint with this drama would be paper-thin characters and just how everything and everyone seem to exist for the sake of either doing something for them or being a convenient plot device. The best example of this is the ex-girlfriend. The only thing that we knew is that she was rich and obsessed with our main male lead.

As someone else has already said, I also had to suspend my belief for quite a big portion of this show. From DaDa only appearing at her job when the plot calls for it, to the way the whole breakup happened, even though there was no reason for it, as the Chairman was for the marriage and our leads as well. So the whole montage of them suffering was done well but without any reason. It just felt nonsensical.

Overall, I would suggest this drama to someone who just needs to let their brain go for a few hours and enjoy this like the mindless fluff that it is. Enjoy!

What a lovely romance!

Start out with a contract relationship, hate at first sight, misunderstandings, a cold man and a soft-spoken woman, and you think it's going to be like every other Asian show you've ever seen. You'd be wrong. This is one of the few shows that I've seen that I revisit time and time again.

Ha Seok Jin plays Jae In, the typical cold, work-obsessed corporate man. The hair and makeup department did an excellent job with his transformation throughout the show. He starts out complete starched, his hair is perfect and highlights his always austere expression. Over time, his look relaxes and I loved seeing that.

Jun So Min plays DaDa, the elementary school teacher. She wears the non-stylish, comfortable clothes required for working with little kids all day. She's somewhat mousy, and at first glance you think she's going to be a doormat. You will have that impression corrected very quickly. She does not suffer fools gladly.

The story of how these polar opposites meet and become involved is wonderful, in my opinion. DaDa doesn't let Jae In get away with anything, which is funny to watch, because he's used to always being in control. These two have wonderful chemistry together and this show has some of the best kissing scenes out there! There's nothing earth changing here, just a terrific show, that I think you'll be glad you watched.

Ha Seok-Jin did a wonderful job portraying an arrogantly stubborn and powerfully rich grandson gradually showing his inner soft side. Adding chemistry to this couple relationship, Jeon So-Min balanced her school teacher stern character with a touch of sweet cuteness without any nauseating effects that draws and counters Ha Seok-Jin 's character. It was an enjoyment to watch the rapport between them which caused quite a few crackle of laughter from me. It was also nice to see a story where both lead characters were not weak to evil plots and as such, these plots were not frustratingly annoying since the two leads were not ignorant and stupid. The story did not end abruptly to leave the audience with their imagination for a "happily ever after." The writer and director took the time to show how they lived happily ever after; a wise decision on their part to allot a budget to spend on the conclusion which most stories failed to do so. A true romantic comedy with a well balanced "a little of everything" that will leave the audience satisfied.

So here's the thing, the story is typical and the ending is predictable. But there is something in this drama that'll make you watch and crave for more. The 40 mins per episode is kind of short compared to other dramas but it would make you crave for more and that's a good thing, in my opinion.

The actors are great. I like how the story is very light, perfect when you just want to chill after a long day from school or work. There's also this tingly sensation caused by the protagonists that would make you want to go into a relationship as soon as possible.

Overall, it's a good drama to watch. Try it!

It started strong but ended weak.

The drama started really good. The female main character actually had a backbone and gave as good as she took. The two leads had chemistry and their relationship development was actually believable without too much crazy on it. Sadly the drama took a turn for the worse in the last few episodes, with some craziness being thrown in out of the blue and unnecessary situations happening. The last few episodes were just so-so. I would recommend watching it, not a master piece but definitely entertaining.
