Is It A Good One Or Skipable!?
I wasn't sure at first whether to start this drama or not.Additionally, the rating was too high, but I still wanted to test it.
I finished it in two weeks.
But in just 5 days, I finished the first 30 episodes. because it was so fascinating.
But after that, I think the show lost its way and started to get tedious and annoying.
Around episode 60, the storyline started to pick up steam once more as we got closer to the finale.
And everything ended well (Somewhat Satisfying).
Acting: Yang Mi and Ethan Juan, the leads, did a fantastic job!
My particular favourite medical sage cast members were Zong Yue (Yi Lai), Zhan Beiye (Gao Weiguang), and Xaio Qi (Sunday Jiang).
But, unexpectedly, at the end, I felt love for just an evil character:-
Feng Jing Fan, also known as Folian (Rain Wang),
Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama! & The Experience Exceeded My Expectations
Though I'm not sure why, I don't think this one is worth revisiting...
But if you have not watched it yet, you should definitely do so.

It's Not The Legend Of Fu Yao... misleading Title
It was really a good story but too draggy with some useless arcs . Fuyao character is so weak considering how the drama's name and the strong FL tags, she eat all the poisons that ever been mad in this drama and got drugged for more than I can count. 66 episodes were too much and it still ended up with a confusing ending while they had enough time to give a more clear one. It took me forever to finish it, I don't remember when I first started it but I dropped it a long time ago after watching more than 40 episodes then tried to pick it up after rewatching most of the episodes then I dropped it again on ep60 and I finally picked it up again yesterday to finish it finally today. It had so much potentiel to be one of my TOPs C-dramas but unfortunatly the bad points took away part of it beauty.
The ML gave it his best though, what a great actor. Yang Mi did good too

Sorry no Spoilers but guess the ending's a .....
Well, this was one of the first dramas I've seen that is a Chinese historical genre related and for a fact I had never even thought that I would be so interested in the plot and the storyline so much. It had various elements highlighted such as how a woman though in a period where women were overlooked by men in terms of strength, talent, efforts and intelligence takes upon herself to find her birth secrets and the truth for her abandonment as she was an infant and grows into a powerful woman who is independent and depends on herself to pass through all hardships. The drama is a fantastical romantic historical dramas portraying equal importance on both men and women roles. Both the lead characters were acted out well as well as the cast has done justice to the piece. Don't worry about the ending 'cause most of the dramas I watch are the happy ones. To speak the truth this drama was quite lengthy and at a point felt like it was a waste of time and that the writer was just making ways to make it lengthy but it was quite enjoyable though.
I do recommend this drama very much, both the leads are my favorite especially (Yang Mi) and it is a piece that one can binge watch along with their friends...

When a drama has the female lead's name in the title, you expect great things from her.
My biggest issue with Legend Of Fu Yao, is the main character herself, Fu Yao, who lacks .....I don't know how to describe it, ambition? Agency maybe? I mean, she's the main character, the drama is named after her and yet she probably does the least out of all the characters. She has no goals, no ambition, no anything. She just reacts to what's happening around her and does nothing for herself. She's always helping this character or that, or is trying to get out of some situation. In the beginning there's this half-hearted attempts to find out about her identity but even that gets waylaid pretty much the same day she sets out to find out some clues.Other problems:
Plot holes - This drama is packed with plot holes.
Characters - Too many characters with their own problems and backstories and etc. I wouldn't have minded that so much, if it didn't highlight how the main character in contrast, didn't have her own goals and ambitions.
Ending - This is my second c-drama and all I can say is, what's with c-dramas and endings? It's like their achilles heel. Let's hope this trend doesn't continue.
I probably could have forgiven the problems if I enjoyed Legend Of Fu Yao but the truth is I didn't. The main character was problematic and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't empathise with her or even like her that much. The maid lead on the other hand, was much more interesting, he was sly and manipulative and I enjoyed his character.
Despite not liking this very much, I have to say that I did watch all of it and barely did any skipping, so I guess I found it alright while I was watching it. It's just that at the end I was left dissatisfied and feeling that I wasted my time.

I wanted to like this drama soooo bad but serious, it was a train wreak. I'm not going to continue wasting my time on this this show. STORY:
The plots is mostly predictable. When it’s not predictable, it goes downhill.
I skipped so many parts of this show. it was unbearable to watch!
The beginning when Jing Chen and Yang Mi have something going on, I thought it was setting up for something good, but nope.
When Fu Yao was in disguise, they should have let the actresses who played the disguise take over until Fu Yao didn't need it anymore. The viewers just saw Fu Yao's face and not the disguise's face, it look the magic away from the show.
The chemistry between Fu Yao and Wu Ji is so plain af. Fu Yao don’t show any sign of falling in love with Wu Ji, but always have flashbacks to the “cute” times. Wu Ji have some signs of liking Fu Yao but he always end up using it Fu Yao. I can see Fu Yao and Wu Ji being friends, but definitely not a couple.
Lanzhu was cute and all, chasing after Bei Ye.
I thought Fu Yao could end up with Jing Chen or Bei Ye, not Wu Ji.
If they really wanted Fu Yao and Wu Ji to be together, they need a better plot line for the love story.
I don’t care if Love is not the main focus point of this drama, but if they gonna have a love story, ATLEAST MAKE IT GOOD!!!
ACTING/CAST:
This drama have so many good and famous actors/actresses and yet have a horrible storylineThis drama have so many good actors/actresses and yet have a horrible storyline!
A few cast the from "Eternal Love", while is one of the best drama. They have an actresses who had a small part in "Princess Wei Young".
The actress Yang Mi, was amazing in “Eternal Love” but this show is a no. Her body language & how the character acts is almost the same as “Eternal Love” but she’s trying so hard make it look different.
The actor Ethan, is decent in other dramas but this one is just a no. His expressions r over done, in his other dramas it fits the characters but it doesn’t fit Wu Ji.
Ethan's face expressions is just so bad, even in his other dramas.
MUSIC:
I like most of the music, and might add some of the songs in my playlist. I have some of the songs in my playlist already, no known that it was in this drama.
REWATCH VALUE:
Considering that I'm gonna stop watching this show at ep 30, I'm not going to rewatch this.
if someone can change my mind about the direction of the show, I may reconsider, but for now, I'm not finishing this show nor rewatching the parts I have watched.

The overall story is mysterious and the curiousity for the viewers just keeps growing every episode. WHO IS THE MAIN LEAD?!! WHERE HE FROM? WHY IS HE SO HOT LMAO? and Fu Yao is just as amazing!! She’s everything you want from a strong female character. She’s strong but has room for growth, she’s loyal, honest to a fault and she doesn’t take crap from anyone. THE REST OF THE CAST IS ALSO AMAZING! If there is a second lead, he is just the second lead! It ain’t gonna give you second lead syndrome which we all hate! And I’m still waiting for it to appear but it isn’t as STRONG AS THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE LEADS!! I love the story between all the characters, the friendship, the betrayals (growth) and REVENGE!!! LETS GET IT!
Also the story doesn’t drag on for too long and keeps you satisfied every episode. HOPE YALL GIVE THIS A CHANCE! And I love yang mi, she’s one of my fave actress next to zhao zanilia! For fans of eternal love (three lives) and princess agents, this will fulfill ya hearts dream of a strong female character with them happy vibes and its being played by YANG MI!

Finally, real chemistry & intimacy among the lead characters
I really enjoyed Legend of Fu Yao, minus the mystical part. The reason why this drama did not get a 10, is because I am not into magic and mystical dramas. The male lead actor, Ethan is fine! I think he is the most attractive male actor in Asia. Legend of Fu Yao was the first C-drama that I watched, in which the characters had authentic intimacy and chemistry on screen. The second drama is Princess Agent. I also like the fact that both of those dramas, have actors who look older than 21.I am American, and I am really turned off by the overlysexualized romantic scenes in American movies and dramas. However, with most C-dramas and K-dramas, sometimes it seems like there is no romance and that kind of bores me when I watch dramas. I think Legend of Fu Yao, did a perfect job of showing intimacy and chemistry, without being overlysexual. I also think it could have ended around episode 40 (after they win the first major battle), it would have been perfect. I tend to stop watching dramas when they are dragged out unnecessarily, by having two major conclusions. That is one on the reasons why I stopped watching Rebel Princess; it had two major conclusions.

Storyline was OK
I don’t have much to say except I didn’t read the novel. My biggest problem was with the female led actress being 35 years old when the character is a teenager. Are there no younger actresses that could play this role? She did a good enough job acting, but I just can’t get past the age differential.I don’t know about the book, but I wonder how a slave girl became such a martial arts genius (in her mind). She also is very arrogant even when she loses every fight with the male lead. She says she loves him, yet is nasty to him when he continually saves her.
The movement of the story was good and most times kept my interest. I guess my only thing is I couldn’t relate to the main character.

Amazing acting and storyline, worth the time spent watching.
So this is my most favorite C drama and despite it being 66 episodes long, I've rewatched it because I totally loved it the first time.Story: The story is very well written, i don't remember any plotholes. The first part in Xuanyan sect where the ML and FL meet, and Taiyuan kingdom where they develop feelings was really the best part in the entire drama. Tiansha kingdom affairs felt a little draggy, especially the Yao City part was the worst to me. Xuanji kingdom was filled with evil lol. Tianquan was the centre of the major incidents. Well could've invested a little more time to the last episodes because they did feel a little rushed despite the show having so many episodes. I think the tiansha arc took a lot more episodes than it needed, thus making the ending this rushed.
Characters and acting: Yang Mi won my heart in Eternal love and this one just made me an even bigger fan. Her acting was on point and she was amazing. Ethan Juan was sweet, charming and caring throughout, except he was a little too kind to be a king. His acting was also great. They had mind blowing chemistry. I especially loved the character of Zong Yue. Yalan Zhu and Zhan Beiye.. their pair up seemed kinda forced, like yalan zhu did so much for him so he accepted her out of pity. And Fuyao's adoptive father was so good. There are quite a lot of evil b's like Feng Xuan, Folian and Pei Yuan. Qi Zhen was very evil but i didn't hate him more than Folian. I felt bad for Yang Jingchen as he was a pathetic character throughout. Yun Hen was so dumb and annoying. Zhangsun Pinrong was absolutely disgusting. Zhangsun Jiong was kinda pathetic though he was evil. I didn't like Wuji's mother at all. Everyone's acting was natural and felt great. Well that's it for the characters.
Ending: This is an open ended drama. So everyone who is disappointed with the ending, it was meant for viewers to imagine how they might have lived after the climax. Wuji and Fuyao standing together in a palace garden is already a hint. Well the ending was kinda bizarre because I wanted to know what happened to the others too. But from what i read, the novel which this is based on has a happy ending, so I'm just gonna go with that.
Others: The cgi was okay. Cinematography, costumes, sets and backgrounds in this drama were amazing. About the music, i especially loved the closing theme.
Would watch it again after watching twice already because i never get tired of it and highly recommend watching it.

This is one of my favorites of all time.
(Standard warning: Likely spoilers below, read at your own risk). This was my gateway drug into Asian dramas. I have rewatched this one enough times that I have now set a limit on when I can watch it again, lest I get tired of it.
ML & FL probably have one of the healthiest relationships ever portrayed in Asian drama land. They always support each other's goals and achievements. They communicate, they do not manipulate (though ML tried it a little during the Deep Water arc). ML was never threatened by FL's abilities, never put her down, and was so proud of her when her true identity (in her birth country) was discovered rather than threatened.
The ending was a bit of a let-down. There appears to be debate as to what it actually represented. In my opinion, it shows them in Megrez, but others would likely disagree. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue that wrapped everything up better. There are some dramas that never seem to end and others that could use a bit more explanation.
I did not really ship the SML and SFL. She's sweet but this super crazy stalker-type and he clearly denigrates her intelligence (tells his mother so directly). I actually think the character portrayed by the same actress in "Ancient Love Poetry" was a far better fit for Ven Gao's character than the one she played of LofFY). At the least the love triangle was half-hearted at best and never a cause for angst.
There were some periods of illogic. Such as, why wouldn't they have disguised Fu Yao better as a man (like they disguised her as another person in Deep Water). I hate when the girl crossdressing is soooooooo obviously still a girl, especially when in a made up, magic kingdom you have plenty of options to make it work in a logical way. The show drags in the middle with an unnecessary drama over bandits in the desert, then it picks back up again.
There were some amazing fight scenes. Perhaps the most romantic (?) fight scene ever in the royal bath at Deep Water and then the most amazing fight for survival when she's kidnapped by Prince Assist in Megrez. The first arc and the Deep Water arc are my two favorites--my third is perhaps the arc in the country run by women.
I recommend this one if you like the fantasy genre (my personal favorite) or are just getting started with Asian dramas. I apologize in advance for any lost sleep and lost study time. :D

I want to thank all the cast, the producers, the directors, the visual effects, the musicians and music creators, the makeup artists, the costumes... All of it! I give you your due respect! Awesome!
I want to thank the screenwriters for bringing awareness to rape.
I think I already wrote a review for this already, but don't see it.
