In this second season of the drama, the story continues. It is just as cute and funny as the first season, but in this one we get to see even more interactions of the main characters.
I have to say that I absolutely love all the characters. They were very cute and so funny! One thing that annoyed me was the funny, but irrelevant episode where they played the mafia game, trying to guess the killer and all that.
Overall, the story is about two childhood friends who come realize that they mean much more to each other than they had ever imagined. By the end of the season, we can see that the female lead has matured, and the male lead has figured out some things; such as that one's way of living cannot be claimed as better than another person's way of living. Meaning, Liao Danyi's lifestyle choices are not the same as Ye Muxi, and they do not have to be. Therefore, Liao Danyi realizes that his perfect life is not a standard for Ye Muxi is follow.
The ending is a happy ending for sure, but it cannot be considered as the best ending. Not because there was no romance but because it left me wishing there was more beef to the ending. Plus this web drama had explicitly stated that it isn't focused on romance from the very beginning, so do not expect anything romantic to happen in this second season.

a heads up though:
1. the show is really choppy and messy. even from the first season, the first half of each season would be based on their life in school. then it'll suddenly change to an alternate universe of some sort where they have magical powers. those parts seemed really draggy to me.
2.there isn't much romance. maybe a little tease here and there but there's literally barely any romance at all. literally, we only get that tease of romance in the last two episodes.
3. their audio dubbing is good, it sounds pretty fluent. but lip syncing? not so much. especially when the characters perform or sing. it's like the actors don't know what they're singing or performing. it's so out of sync, i thought they added a random audio clip over the scenes.
i really do like each character's personality and their backstories. this drama is more about friendship than anything else. the theme song is really good, it's upbeat and easy to understand. still, the best part of the entire drama are the comedic scenes.
personally would not watch this drama again.
if you're looking for a comedic highschool drama, give this a go.
but if you're looking for something with a solid plot and romance, this isn't for you.

This is aired on youtube with English subs. Both season one and two. When they said it is not a love story, they were not kidding. If you are looking for a romance then maybe watch something else then come back because it won't satisfy you. There are hints of it and from the very start you will see how the main leads care for one another but don't expect anything major.
However, this is an amazing comedy with amazing chemistry between actors.
Have to admit, at first I was skeptical and only watched it out of boredom and It was a good choice, mainly because I was indeed laughing for most of the drama.
THE STORY:
Some might find it childish, which it is, as well as very annoying but I think thats the thing about this drama (I also understand Chinese so I understood the jokes in more depth as some of the humour will indeed be lost in translation but thats a given), it is very light hearted and is supposed to make you laugh but I think it shows how one girl consoles her problems and holds her head up high. I honestly think it's a story of growth, laughter, learning and with a small, tiny bit of love. Which is the reality right?
ACTING:
I loved the actors so so much. The chemistry between them all in class ten makes me smile, the way they depend and help each other is honestly very heart warming. Theres a rang of different people with different personalities that work so so well together and I think this is why I gave it a higher rating, the cast were amazing. Dubbing was good but lip syncing was a bit off but none the less, it was amazing.
MUSIC:
Liked the OST, nothing much to say.
REWATCH VALUE:
I honestly don't rewatch dramas unless I'm super impressed by it, as in it's a 10 in rating. Even if it's like rated 9 I wouldn't rewatch it so it doesn't really have much to do with the drama but myself tbh lol. But I do have to admit, the last episode I probably will come back and watch a few more times because damn it was good.
OVERALL:
I suggest people watch it as it is a humorous and light drama. Honestly, if you find some of the 'childish' bits (me trying to hint at points of the drama without spoiling it) boring and decide to skip some of it you'll still understand it.

Oh and for the romance, don’t expect too much progress. It’s a very very very very very slow-paced romance, that barely exists, but when there is chemistry on screen it sends you screaming. The actors/actresses in this show are quite young which is probably why there was no intimate scenes

The girl lead was really awesome, she was bit childish, but funny & hella relatable.
The whole drama was funny, the main leads had a really interesting chemistry...they’d fight like cats & dogs, it was bit like hate & love typa thing. I expected so much romance..I also hated how it ended..I want season 3 ugh! Ohh yeah...the guy lead was handsome ????, his character, the way he cared for her, the way he looked at her was so frickin cuteeee...I WANT SEASON 3! I miss em so much???? this is my 3rd time rewatching...i’ve been waiting for season 3 for years.

this season was better than the 1st one. at least there was some sense of romance...I was finally able to see some chemistry.overall I could say this wasn't that boring but I wasn't interesting also.
the thing that creeps me out is that not even a single couple ended up together in the story. the way they showed the story ..it was like they had so much to say but no part was complete ..accept the death of Liao danyi 's grandma.
every one of them had their story and that was too natural to see but none of them ended anywhere in the story .its like the story ended up hanging on the cliff.
like...zu shanqi and xue xiaodong didn't end up together. that cartoonist cartoons were not famous. the writer didnt became a star writer. class 1 couple didnt end up together. liao danyi's dad didnt became sober. female lead herself didnt achieve anything in her life.those sorts couple also didnt end up together. even the teachers'pair didnt end up together.
I know that they ar eabout to but they didnt and that was didnt satisfy me... i dont know what they are waiting for to bring season 3.

Like I said in my review for the first season, I still wasn't a fan of all the imaginary scenes. They still were boring and unnecessary to me. Other than that, however, I still really liked the humor in this, and the fact that they tackled a more serious plotline near the end of the season was great.

There were two problems with this season, though. First, there were some "stories" / "universes" that were reused. Also, the final episode promising something that was never delivered, like it was teasing the audience with a romance that was left to everyone's imagination.
Other than that, for a comedy, this one was pretty great. The leading lady did an excellent job with her character and she was delightful to watch, stealing the scene from everyone. And it was great to learn more about the characters' background stories and families.
So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.
