I’m sure this show would be better if there wasn’t so many flashbacks that you really can’t keep up with. They say it gets better by episode and there were cute parts in this show that I enjoyed and the couple was pretty cute but to me, it was kind of all over the place which sucks because it’s my first time seeing the ML in a show and I loved the FL in my amazing boyfriend. I liked the friends, I liked the siblings and even the family, but I guess this show didn’t catch my eye, even though romance and youth is typically a main genres for me, I just could not for the life of me get into this drama at all. But to each their own, I ended up skipping through a lot and just fast forwarding through the episodes and maybe that’s why I didn’t thoroughly enjoy the show and I went back and fourth a lot on watching it but I guess this just wasn’t for me even though it had a ton of potential and people love it. Right off the bat, the serious tone and ML fell really flat because his personality and character was just like that and she was just flat in character as well so it really let me down. Her brother probably was better off being the guy I liked. Maybe one day I’ll come back and rewatch it but as for no; it is what it is.

Cute Story but DRAGGING

Pros: What makes this drama really entertainment (in my opinion) is the second couple. I find them way more interesting than the lead story (they are kinda boring and don't have a lot of intimate scenes) and I feel like at some point they have more screen time so you kinda want to see them more than the main couple.
The friendship between the girls is so pure and beautiful, the brother is the best character in this drama, the female lead is cute and the main lead is a great person.
Cons: I feel like if I watched this drama in my teen years I would love it and be one of my favourites, but now I'm almost 24 years and drama like this are really predicable and becomes very boring... this has 35 episodes and honestly I think is too much because the episodes are really similar, the story doesn't really move till episode 21...
Overall watch it if you want to watch something entertainment

Should you? Would you? Could you?

You should watch this one (YES! )
You would recommend this to others. (YES!)
You could watch this again. (YES!)
Ending: Happy

I have no idea how time flew while I was watching this one. It grips you from the first moment until you finish it. Some may say that it’s just a simple love story but the way it captures your attention is what makes it unique. It’s a drama of relationships (siblings, love, parent-child, friendships) with each individual relationship given it’s due and unique plotline. And they are each beautifully portrayed by the people concerned. l love the way they have switched the change in times from past to present (thanks to the flashbacks) as we go along the drama. So well written and it grips you throughout.
The relationship between the main leads is so pure and intense as you follow their love story from school into adulthood. The deep love he has for her is probably what everyone craves for in a partner. The way they assume they are going to be married and have kids displays the assured love they have towards each other. I loved every character in this drama.
The second lead pair has equal chemistry and they are adorable together. The third lead pair is also v good. How the makers managed to keep all three parallel love stories interesting is amazing! The relationship between the two best friends is so wonderful. I love the way the female lead supports her best friend when she supposedly gets pregnant. This is what best friends do.
What a beautiful brother and sister relationship they have portrayed. Again, deep understanding and love for each other. The relationship of the female protagonist with the parents is so beautiful. This was one drama that I wished would have another 10 episodes and I wouldn’t have minded. What I liked is that they didn’t only focus on the romance between the main lead but also other relationships. I highly recommend watching it.

good drama to watch, no stress!

some drama makes you really stress with all the things going on at the same time in the drama but this drama is different it has comedy and some sadness of course. The acting is amazing though and its really funny. But just to tell you first this drama shows you right in the beginning about the ending of how the couple ended up. so you will follow the couple.

i stumbled upon this drama together with Put Your Head on My Shoulder when I was searching for C-Dramas to watch. I watched them interchangeably, as they were both ongoing when I started. I even blamed myself for watching an ongoing drama because it was a struggle waiting for the next episodes. Good thing this aired three times a week, with two episodes a day, on Youtube when I watched it. But whereas PYHOMS, I’ve totally lost interest at Episode 21 (Note: i only watched that far because I was waiting for LCDF’s next episodes) because I found it too shallow for me, with not much going on, LCDF on the other hand, was so captivating for me that it did not even make me skip any scenes, nary a one. Even the flashbacks, which were oftentimes annoying or confusing in most dramas, were aside from shedding light to story, they, more often than not, came with such sweet or funny scenes that would make you look forward to them even.

Although at some points of the drama I looked forward to the Guanchao-Wuyi pair more, but never enough to skip any Yan Mo and Qiao Yi scenes. Although there are tons of the smart guy-ditzy girl stories out there, I could say, there’s none more compatibly written than these two. They complemented each other like no other that every interaction was either so stinking sweet or hilariously funny. Yan Mo’s nonchalant demeanour was so well acted by Zhang Yu Jian it’s so funny every time. And Janice Wu.. I can’t remember any actress that plays the ditzy girl that does not come off as annoying, but Janice, just like in My Sunshine, she plays the dumb girl without being annoying, instead she makes it even cute and endearing.

This drama is such a breeze to watch, with neither annoying characters nor scenes. I can’t say it’s a fluffy drama because although half, if not more, of it happened while they were in school, it tackled other life stuff aside from the normal school happenings. But everything just meshed so well together that the story flowed almost seamlessly.

I liked the chemistry of Zhang Yu Jian and Janice Wu, Zhao Zhi Wei and Ma Li. You could see from the BTS how comfortable they were with each other. Every couple in the story was so cute, even the unlikely couple, Dauchan and Youmei. And Guanchao’s and Qiaoyi’s parents! They bicker so much but it’s never annoying or tiring.

All in all, this is one fine love story. A story that, after watching it, just makes you sigh and smile. Not one that, althugh surely you’d wanna keep watching them, but it does not give you the feeling that there should be more. Not an extra episode or a special. It’s just made complete as it is. A love that has come full circle.

Oh my gosh... This is the first time the drama makes me speechless what to say. So many good thing, don't know what to write... Maybe what ayaj wrote is the most suit my feeling too, "This drama is more down-to-earth and more realistic than most romantic dramas."

Like ayaj too. At first I also feel i will get bored watch this drama, because this drama is nothing like light, funny or lovey dovey drama, but more like more mature & slow drama. But this drama instead makes me wonder what will happen with the characters in the future. Bored never in my head when i watched this

This is also the first drama i don't want to comment about the character or any scene. If you want to know the character just read review by yesungs, (s)he write quite spot on.

This drama is about love, friendship, youth and future. For who always ask can man & women be friend, you need to watch this drama, Fei Da Chuan (FDC) and Qiao Yi (QY) friendship is really friend to the end without any love feeling what so ever.

What i love with this drama are:
- They make a little like how i met your mother scene where the sit on the sofa talk about the past.
- The chemistry between the cast is good.
- How in the end they each get their own love without need to complicated things with love rivalry what so ever.
- The Family relationship is really bring into the drama, not only to makes the drama interesting but also to give us some point about the family problem & our feeling with that problem.
- How they give us preview about QY & Yan Mo (YM) life after married. Usually other drama just stop until the wedding ;).

What i don't like:
Why man & woman at the age 30 or end of 20 need to play as high school student. So old... Why don't they cast another actor & actress to play them in the high school year. Like My Sunshine drama, they have different actor & actress to play them in the university & the future time. It's more suitable than this ^.^.

What lack: if this really based on true story why don't they give us photo of the real people... :(

But overall i really like this drama, never regret watch this. For you who sick to watch lovey dovey drama, this drama is for you. Enough love & romance but not make you feel too childish. To re-watch... Maybe just some scene. Not because i feel bored or what, but more like the feeling i feel will not be the same if i re-watch this. Still want to hang on to the feeling after i watch this. B)

At first I didn't want to watch this based on the plot summary alone thinking it may be too melancholic but I read an article on Soompi about how good this series is so I gave it a go.

I watched 6 episodes straight and boy I never looked back.

Part of its charm is that the book it is based on on the author's real life story. My pessimistic self believes that first love dies and your left with memories. But watching this made me realize that there are exceptions to the rule. The story telling was realistic and the actors were great.

The actors for YM and QY is so perfect that I can't think of anyone else who'd fit the bill. Their chemistry is off the charts that when you watch them interact whether in school or as adults you can't help but smile.

GC and WY is love. Their storyline was not on the book if I remember it right but like the main leads their chemistry is great. I want to assume that GC is in denial of his feelings for WY when they were younger because of his trauma.

And the uncle, oh my, he is a friend indeed. I love how his protective of his friends and how he kept his friendship with QY despite what happened with his nephew. He deserved a happy ending too.

I really enjoyed how the writer and the director showed different relationship dynamics be it about family, friendship, or love. I think this is the most realistic one I have seen in a series. I love how each character's imperfection it really made this story relatable.

The OST is awesome. The songs they used on this drama is perfectly apt for the story.

Rewatch value? I would say its worth watching over and over again just for the heck of it because this is a feel good realistic drama that would leave you with a smile on your face.

This is the first drama I've watched that I wanted to leave a review because it exceeded my expectations.

Such a cute love story

The love story is so pure and beautiful and for both the main and the secondary characters. I can say that I waited to see the main actors in a series to be together from Oriental Odiseey and I can say that I'm pleased. I'm glad to see more emotion from Yan Mo because of his role in Oriental Odiseey. In this drama you can see many things that are related to reality. How in life there are many up and down situations and depends of us how we make it through. I think I loved every character equally. Before this I watched many other dramas of Wu Qian so I didn't believe I could love this drama more especially because I saw at the same time with this "The brighest star in the sky" so it was difficult to choose between them, but I think both were very good, but this drama had something, how to say it,different in a good way. I'm glad that I watched and I love it. And please don't write low reviews just because of the subtitles. I now is very hard to wait, but the subbers are working very hard and this reviews won't make the subbers work faster. This ratings based on subtitles because it will only make the rating for the drama drop.

Lots of character depth

This show starts at school and follows our main cast afterwards. We see them all fall in love, break up, etc. The thing i loved most about this show is that every main character (there are about six) has a very distinct background that explains why they are who they are, and they delve into it without hesitation. All of the characters feel like real people living their own world in their own way, and not two-dimensional figures who move the plot along.
After roughly twenty five episodes it does start to drag on a bit, but they take ample time to build to a satisfying happy ending (i don't consider that spoiling, sorry).
I enjoyed the main female lead in other shows, and had never seen the main male lead before, but I'll look for him now.
The music was a bit repetitive. The first few episodes you fall in love with it, but then the same tune gets annoying. Some camera work made the imagery dreamlike, which i wasn't a fan of, but it was part of the film style.

How many years should love wait?

It was interesting to watch but, for me, it was too long. The length wasn´t needed.

STORY - The story is kind of cute. Yan Mo is the best student in the school. Qiao Yi is one of the worst. They share the classroom desk and, it seemed, that nothing else had they in common. But, the truth is that they share a lot of things, like feelings for each other, the notion of family, perseverence, honesty and stubbornness that make them grow apart when things got hard for Qiao Yi's family.
Yan Mo is quiet, almost too strange for everyone except Qiao Yi. She is the glue that stick them together and fuels his love. He is patient, he loves silently and is always watching over for her and that is why she will love him, like Nick Cave's song...'till the end of the world.
Her brother and her best friend are also cute. Also Da Chuan and You Mei are nice.
The business, the company has some part in this but it is not very interesting to me.

ACTING - i think the acting is very good for the main characters.

OST - didn't catch my attention but i think it does the job.

REWATCH - No, because is too long and there are better dramas for me.

OVERALL - i liked it. If you are looking for a slow pace love that is it. An odd couple that function well together...but still strange for me...

Truth to be said, this drama have a good story line although the first 13th episodes is quite boring because the conflict is around senior high school things, although they have some good memories and nostalgic, but the writer made it up with new kind of line, becuase as we know at first we watch this movie they have already married which mean this drama have a good ending, which will put us in quite a relief from guessing how will it end.

Although we are ready knew the story ending but still this drama is full of surprises and still making us craving for curiosity, they even potrait after married couple would be, is quite new to me, in the other hands i just wish they concluded with Yan Mo and Qiao Yi having kids, then it will become the best endings drama i will ever watch, but still this drama is one of the best. Hope in the future Chinese drama will have more similiar ending with of course concluded their happy ending with children of their own.

This show is Real and Shows the Messiness of A Relationship

It has not been directly mentioned in the show description but, because of my extended family experience with it, my assessment of Yan Mo is that he has some sort of autism spectrum disorder (ASD, probably Asperger's). I love that the story is based on real life and the manner in which the characters have been written and portrayed. Living and loving someone with ASD can be challenging at times (as shown by the awkward moments sprinkled throughout and this show really highlights that it is possible with the right partner.
