Butchered adaptation. Rename show- do NOT call it "Boss + Me". Show saved by Push / Aom.

*** SPOILERS ***
This show is stressful and not sweet unlike original TV adaptation and book.

For those interested, these are the episodes for:
8- the corporate field trip
12- corporte party, almost kiss
15- main leads start and kiss
35- main leads reconcile and sleep together

After watching, then reading the original Chinese Boss + Me...
forget it if you are expecting anything remotely as splendid as the original Chinese show and book.

Unlike other Thai adaptations-- this one is about 80% negativity!!
Frankly, this is a re-write of "Boss + Me".
This show is just like any of those Thai lakorns (which are full of hatred, poisonous and violent antagonists).
There are girls who want the MLs in both the C- and T-shows, but in the C-version, viewers will find believable jealousy, lies, harping, and mean girls. In contrast, the T-version barrages viewers with in an incessant string of problems by antagonists (girlssss and boys obsessing for the ML, FL, and the cousin). This lakorn is full of non-sense! Why bother calling it B+M when the original TV C-show and book were full of sweetness?

Thanks that we viewers did not have to endure amnesia nor a truck hitting one of the leads…!!
Yet this T-version did add violence: blackmailing, kidnapingSS, stabbing-pregnancy-killing, pushing down the stairs, drowning, comma, arson, 2 types of cancer, lies galore, verbal-mental-physical types of harassments/abuses/assaults, obsession, psychos (and attempted rapes? I skipped those scenes)… did I forget anything else?!?!??!! (By the way, I tried to add these tags to the description page to forewarn viewers, but all were declined by MDL. Had I seen these tags, I would have not watched this and sully my sweet memories of the original works.)

This Thai show uses "elements" of the original Chinese storyline, but it has way too many bad things going on. This T-drama could be named anything else… calling it “Boss & Me” is misleading.

If one wants to give this Thai version the "benefit of the doubt" and insiste on calling this an “adaptation inspired” by the original show… one will end up annoyed, if not upset. One thing is to twist the plot here and there (for example, "You are my heartbeat" for "Fox's Summer")... another thing is to change and add so much that the new adaptation is writing another drama.

Unlike other excellent Thai adaptations (eg, You are my heartbeat for Fox's Summer, Kiss Me for Itazura Na Kiss, and Full House Thai for the Korean original version), this T-version of B+M was a royal disappointment. It was sad because I was looking forward to enjoying another T-adaptation.
(For the record-- No, I am not a fan of Aom and/or Mike Angelo. I feel that both happen to portray the best of 10 adaptations of Itazura Na Kiss… and the Thai version of Full House is sweeter than the original Korean version.) (I am not a fan of the main leads, but the Chinese FL did an excellent job portraying her character in the C-drama. In contrast, I liked Push, the ML in the Thai adaptation better than the Chinese ML in the original C-show.)

I enjoyed watching so much the original Chinese show that I read the book afterwards. I felt that the TV drama was significantly better than the English translated version of the actual novel. In the C-show, one can enjoy watching the FL’s journey as she develops her character/career/intellect, matures as a person, and learns to love/live with the person she falls for. Viewers also see a FL learning to adapt socio-EQ to her new status without losing her independence and sweetness. I did not feel much character advancement/development in the Thai FL version. Yes, the main couple goes through problems, but the Chinese drama simply radiates positivity.

The one good thing better in this Thai adaptation is that "the in-love Thai ML" is much sweeter than the Chinese ML in the original show. Also, watch this Thai version if you're interested in Push (ML) and/or Aom (FL).

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the English TV subtitles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not adapted but very, very loosely based on original story

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I couldn’t stop myself after being so disappointed in this version of one of my favorite stories.

The writers created an abomination of the original story by adding in every single trope in the universe. I should know since I read the book and watched the Chinese version 24 times. I was extremely disappointed in the way it was written but I did love Push and Aom together along with her friends and both families. The acting was great and was all that saved the rating I gave it.

This is only the third lakorn I’ve seen but if it had been the first, I would never watch another. I’m assuming it was written for a Thai audience, but do they realize that this makes the Thai people look like a bunch of bullies? You don’t see these extremes in Korean, Chinese or Japanese dramas.

Lika is the worst of all. Yes, there was a similar character in the original but at least she had enough class not to do anything illegal! You could argue that Gina was almost as bad, but at least she wasn’t betraying lifelong friends in the process. Miel is a role from the original whose role was expanded exponentially and made into a true psychopath, which was totally unnecessary. Miel copying Namhking also reminded me of a character in the Kdrama, Cheese In The Trap.

I could only get myself to watch through episode 35, then skipped 36-39 because I couldn’t handle anymore drama with the cancer. By going directly to episode 40, I was able to catch up and see the HEA.

I definitely won’t be watching this one again.

Nice but long

I have seen both The Chinese version and the Thai version. D Thai version I should say has d Thai flavor lot of negative fl but d main couple looked lovely together. And d love seemed more genuine here. In d Chinese story d girl is shown too dumb and d boss too smart which I find is too misogynistic conceptually. Here it is really warm fuzzy and unconditional love. I agree that d negative characters stretched a lot and that the story of cancer and all was unnecessary and draggy but that is wat happens in majority Thai shows. But if I will have to vote which couple I liked more chemistry wise I would definitely vouch for push and Sushar as they look heavenly together with bang on chemistry. Both are such actors which I feel have the ability to enhance d other leads love quotient so that is why they looked good and even d friends played superb role overall nice and a good watch

Frustrating adaptation

I was looking forward to the Thai version of Boss and Me, usually they make good remakes. The Chinese version of Boss and Me is one of my favorite Chinese dramas, I've re-watched it 3 times. The Thai version has been so disappointing, they added so much unnecessary plot twists and circumstance between the FL and ML that I found myself fast forwarding through the episodes. They also missed the opportunities of cute interactions between the FL and ML that were so nice to watch in the Chinese version and these moments are what created the true link between the two characters. The Thai version was just lacking chemistry between the two actors and they actors didn't portray the characters as in the Chinese version, the very cute FL and arrogant and cold ML, the portrayal of the FL was just dumb and aloof and the ML came off as a Mediocre CEO and weak. They made the antagonist a psycho, added an extra psycho and jealous employee that plots with the main antagonist and created unnecessary conflict and situations. The writers pretty much added every evil trope and conflicting circumstance to create drama where it was not needed. I didn't finish the drama I may just fast forward through the last 9 episodes just to finish but if you love the Chinese version of Boss and Me , then don't watch the Thai version. It's not worth the aggravation.

Way too long!!! Too many things happening at once.

I've watched the Chinese version to this series and absolutely loved it. When I saw that there was a Thai adaptation, I jumped at the chance to watch it.
The series started out really good, and for the most part I was enjoying it. But then, by the time episode 21 rolled around I realised that it was the same thing happening over and over again. Then I kinda lost interest.
The main focus of the drama was lost in all the misunderstandings, the blackmails, lies, phychos, etc. I started skipping a little from episodes 21 - about 23... but after that I was basically skipping through 3/4 of the remaining episodes.
There was too much happening in this one drama. It's almost as if the writers decided to put everything that came to their minds in the 40 episodes. By the time one problem was resolved, another popped up in literally a few minutes later.
I mean, that douche (Bim) kidnapped Liu and Namkhing and a few minutes later we find out she has cancer. All happening in the same episode. And added to that fact, there's this Nathi who keeps insisting that he's fated to be with Namkhing. Not even paying attention to the fact that Namkhing is already in love with her boyfriend. He's the female reincarnate of Lika from a few episodes back.
Very draggy and this for me was a one hit... not a one hit wonder because I didn't particularly enjoy it. Wouldn't watch again.

Nice drama, too many episodes

Like many before, I have watched the original Chinese's version of Boss and Me and although both the Chinese and Thai stories have similarities, there are many differences from the original which I kind of enjoyed since it made it not too predictable. I did like the chemistry between the characters and felt the actors did a good job. This story did have a lot more drama and alternative player involvement which sometimes seemed predictable. I did feel that the moments between the two leads were sometimes rushed and instead of focusing so much on the numerous antagonist, they should have focus on the protagonist and their story. They had cute moments that could have been expanded on, which I did like more than the Chinese version, but again not enough on their story to really give the audience a deeper look. One of the biggest issues for me was how long the storyline was. Almost every episode had conflict and once one player was eliminated another came into the picture. I do recommend you make your own decision on the show, for me it's a re-watch, however don't compare it to the Chinese version since this one is it's own storyline.

Disappointing remake of original charming Chinese version

So far I am not impressed with this Boss & me Thai version. The FL is not convincing or cute as the Chinese drama version, and the ML is not as bossy and arrogant; although Push is handsome, he does not seem to have the charisma of a successful boss or company CEO in this drama. Perhaps Mark Prin could have been better; Mark tends to have that bossy arrogant look all the time... hahaha...
I felt like the Thai version rushed the story through, instead of building up the stories of the characters together. They didn't write good enough background story for the viewers to understand and endear themselves to the ML & FL.
For example, there are no memorable scenes that show how the ML fell in love with the FL, that is, in Chinese version, ML has been secretly watching FL eating her lunches on his private office balcony for many days and saw her pure, bright, candid and happy personality. The ML started having his lunches at same time as the FL, even rushing from meetings, so that he felt like he is not eating his lunches alone. It's these small moments/scenes that makes the drama cute and memorable.
This Thai version shows FL eating and sharing her packed lunches with her friends/colleagues. And she only got 2 packed lunches, instead of the one month packed lunches as per Chinese version. And then, the one-month birthday party for the ML's nephew was done poorly. Instead of the ML taking the FL to the main dining table, she had to embarrass herself before he called her over.... COME ON! that was so cringey to watch, and absolutely not necessary at all.
There are not many interesting scenes or moments in this lakorn that makes me want to stay and watch.
Also this Thai version introduced the SFL too early (in 2nd episode) and she turned out to be such a bitch & unfriendly person, compared to the Chinese version. This has become just another typical Thai lakorn, not an adaptation of the Chinese drama Boss & Me...LOLz.
Plus, the FL's best friend (the one who depended on her rich & terrible fiance) love story changed - looks like she will end up with the ML's best friend. I guess this is a good change.
Anyway, I have watched up to 6 episodes (without subtitles but easily understandable) and I became bored already. I am not sure how they will fill up 40 episodes. Maybe Thai version wanted their own touches in the story but so far, the drama is not impressive or entertaining.
This Thai version is not it for me - I will not watch this after all. What a pity because I was looking forward to this Thai drama; since the original Chinese version of Boss & Me was one of my favourite dramas.
