How I came to that conclusion: Do you like kimchee, would you like to learn more, or at least more than you knew before, than maybe it's a passing grade for this drama. I summarized it in my head as okay the first episode or the first 10 minutes got me with the beautiful array of korean food displayed. hmmm interesting, but than the story began to unfold and it was okay, because I kept thinking wow the kimchee and all the other foods look great....so here was my rational on how I got through this drama.
The kimchee was definitely the star, and as for the story and plots, I thought of them as the side dishes. I mean there was even the 10 commandments of kimchee who knew. So if you have no other drama on your on hold list or plan to watch list than get on the kimchee bus!
on and btw cute catchy tune if you watch you will hear it. :)
cast: maybe they should have used actors more fitting for the age. I mean the wise kimchee teacher, was the same actress from her 30's to her 70's. I mean in her 30's she obviously didn't look 30.(older actress portraying younger)
Also Han Jae Suk, plays the male lead, still handsome, maybe the Lee Min Ho of the 90's kdrama era, correct me if I am wrong, only saw one drama with him(Glass Slippers) which he played in and that was excellent.

There were a few things that were not complete. What I mean by that is there was a secret that no one ever found out and it could’ve been a turning point. I enjoyed the banter between the two leaves however the supporting or second female lead was extremely annoying, aka desperate.
One person kept a secret that seemed to be pointless as it held no positive or negative effect.
I honestly think this was okay, would make my top 20 list. Has some sweet moments but not to sweet. Okay chemistry. Some mystery, but nothing to intriguing.

a nice solid drama with 1 or 2 flaws
its a nice solid drama. the story is solid its enjoyable its an over arching plot from beginning to end it never overstays its welcome. despite being 20 episodes it never stays to long on one point in the story it moves on the next thing. all of the major conflict's surrounding the main character/important side characters are resolved by the end , and it feels good too its perfectly resolved its not rushed out its actually a nice happy ending which is more than most dramas have usually they might have a rushed everybody's friends now ending, like I can't stress how much I enjoyed the ending. The casting is for the most part is pretty solid as well a bit shaky sometimes but good.
my only real complaints are 2 maybe 3 things
My biggest complaint is the music its not bad its good its just they needed more music to fit certain scenes. 1 sad song can't be used for every sad moment or the 1 or 2 romantic songs can't be used for every single romantic moment. when its good and it fits dang is it good but when it doesn't it just feels off
there was a plot around a character introduced at the start that was very important that got dropped I think because it didnt serve the over arching plot past a certain point
and there were some recurring side characters that were actually somewhat interesting and would have liked to see more but they didnt go anywhere. but then again its not a big family. multi couple, longer drama and the story still works so I can't complain to much just deep down I wish ya know?
