✿ which version is better ✿

"The thai version is better" , these words is coming from person considered the Korean version one of her favorite .
why ?
the difference between them is great. If it was not the same basic idea, I would have thought that two of them are two different dramas . The acting is clearly much weaker than the Korean version, but I felt the FL/support actors acting was getting better as the episodes passed .. The ghost stories are more realistic they are somewhat better than the Korean version even the villain ghosts have sad stories which broke my heart (warning the ghosts here is more scarier) , plans of the villain was different and I did not expect what is his next step would be .
chemistry between ML and FL was perfect they both looked like 2 high school lovers *cuteeeee*
What annoyed me in this version :
FL and her red dress I was so happy when she changed it xD , ML gives Weird looks and smiles ( he was trying to be sexy i think lol) , there was some silly scenes i couldn't take, also villain is supposed to be a nice person in the beginning, but from the first start he was suspicious and weird however in general I do not regret watching this drama. I have been suffering for some time from not being able to complete any lakorn finally i did it....
Won't forget uncle's quote
"No one can escape their karma"

Great series on its own!!

I never watched the original series so no comparison on that part. This review may contain spoiler.

[STORY]
I love the story development and how it was not focus on romance. The romance part flowed along the story without any unnecessary drama. As I have watched many k-drama, I was bit sceptical at first that there would be too many cheesy romance in this adaptation. Man, this series didn't disappoint me. The tension, the twist, and the main story line were chef's kiss. The development of the main story was unpredictable so it kept me on my toes.

[ACTING]
The main leads had a good chemistry and looked cute together. Overall I didn't find any uncomfortable acting from the leads. Saint improved a lot here, he really showed a wider acting range and gave justice to Off's character. The actor of Dr. Jade is hand down the best actor here. He was able to convey the emotion perfectly even when he had less line. I will put him in my list of favorite sexy villain lol. The only character who peeved me was Junior, he was so annoying and overreacting.

[GHOST]
I think many people wary about this part, so let me give a bit review on it. FYI, I am scaredy cat myself >_<
The ghosts were quite scary and had good CG, like in typical Thai horror movies. I like that they infused Thai culture and folklore in some of the ghost story. Overall, the ghosts were still bearable and I didn't get any nightmare afterwards lol. It was scary at first, but you got used to it after a while. So don't make it to be something that hinder you to watch :)

In short, this series has good story line, acting, pacing, and editing. I hope there will be season 2 when they explore about the devil's fragment in Off's body, it will be cool to see Off's struggle to tame the devil inside him and I kinda want to watch Saint act as villain. But seems the probability of S2 will be very small as this was an adaption to begin with. Overall, I really enjoyed to watch this series and may rewatch it soon for the details.

a better rendition, and worth watching..

I've watched the original Korean drama years ago and at the time I liked it, it had a good premise and the plot and acting didn't disappoint for what it was worth, however there were a few things that lacked with the cast chosen, for starters the main leads age difference there was a hindrance in the whole romantic plot. It felt cringe, weird or forced in some parts, while other flowed naturally. Still Soohyun was a minor at the time, so it wasn't well received.
And yet here we have a minor difference with the age of the leads, and Off and Jeen's relationship and chemistry is better.
Now I have only seen Saint in BL roles, and I must say this was quite pleasant to watch.
He did a great job as the main lead, and I like the female lead Jeen more in this version too.
The ghosts and demons have a better execution too, and worthy effects throughout the drama.
It's darker than the original from what I can remember.
Leng and Junior being those two goofs, were fit for the comedy part of the plot in between all the horror and action.
Music wise once again nothing out of the ordinary for me, well executed on the right moments, although I did like the intro they made for this series.
Definitely worth to watch or re-watch if you have seen the Korean version already, a few things you will find the same but with certain intriguing twists, others will feel brand new, either way, Off and Jeen's many moments will put a smile on your face ;)

Good adaptation with better CGIs

I have watched the original Korean version and it was one of my favorite release for that year. Although I don't remember all the details anymore so I can't compare this remake to the original in an apple to apple scenario.

This kind of storytelling with different story arc (ghosts in this series) every episode while still pushing forward the plot is my cup of tea. I really like how they showed the ghost sob stories. There are jump scares here and there but overall the ghosts are not that scary. Although the ghosts here are scarier than the ghosts in the K-version but that's a given knowing this is Thai and they don't disappoint with the horror genre. As it is, the CGI and visual effects are way way better in this version. We can see they put in a lot of budget in that department. I also liked that they didn't copy everything in the original and they incorporated their own culture and tradition in here.

The actors did pretty well. Kim So Hyun (K-version FL) is heaps and bounds a better actor than everyone in this series, but I think it's not comparable since she is already a very established actress. The chemistry of main leads here is better than in the original. Their moments felt much more genuine and I liked their dynamic. I feel like in the original version, they were so restricted since So Hyun was underage that time. Everyone in this version also looked more age appropriate.

I hated the sound effects. It's too loud for my liking. The Sol-lek club guys got on my nerves in the first half of the series. They were mostly used for comic relief but they just irritated me. But near the finale I actually started to enjoy them hanging out with Off. Dr. Jade is a scene stealer. I think he was the best actor in this show. He embodied that villain role and I get literal chills everytime he's on screen. I also liked the resolution for everyone's story arc in this series.

Overall, I think this version is slightly better than the original in most aspects. Both versions are fun and exciting in their own way and I would recommend to watch either of the two or both if you have the luxury of time.

definitely a new favorite

Do you know how some dramas just make you happy? Well, "Let's Fight, Ghost" makes me happy. It makes me happy because Saint is AMAZING as Off, because his chemistry with Orn as Jeen is off the charts, and because the emotions feel very real. I've watched the Korean version and while I enjoyed it, the Thai version definitely has a tighter plot, an ending that makes more sense, and is just overall more cohesive. Saint has never been more powerful, more intense, and more charismatic than he is as Off. It's like I knew he had it in him but was just waiting for that moment when he would prove it to me. "Let's Fight, Ghost" is that moment.

Quite a nice story

Although this series has horror elements, it doesn't go all out to be scary. I believe it will suit those who prefer milder horror. There's actually nothing very unique about the horror elements -- it's largely the same old tactics like scary make-up and sudden appearances. Some elements are not really explained as far as I can remember, such as the eye symbol and the numerous eyes on the villain's back. The demon's appearance in the last episode actually looks a little comical, and I'm not sure why it doesn't just keep on using the face of the man it has possessed given that it is still in the body. I find the humorous moments in the series more entertaining, than the horror. This may be a good thing as the series has many elements of a crowd pleaser, from horror to humor and romance and touching drama. Too much horror may put off some people.

Some narrative threads could have been better developed. The male protagonist's mother is supposed to have created two bracelets, one to protect him and another one to kill the demon. However, it seems to need additional explanation. If the mother is such a powerful exorcist, she could have killed the demon herself. (Instead, she is killed by the demon when the protagonist is still a kid.) The bracelet is kept by her husband, it seems, who then seems to be on the run from the demon because he doesn't want the demon to land his hands on the bracelet that can kill him. Dude, maybe you should put the bracelet to good use for once? It appears that the demon has possessed a human being and this prevents the bracelet from having an effect on him, so the characters can only try to avoid the demon while he is in the man's body. Yet, we also see that in the final episode, it isn't altogether impossible to force the demon out of the man and kill him with the bracelet. So perhaps all the evildoings of the demon could have been prevented.

Despite its flaw, the series does manage to be rather good entertainment. Numwan, the villain's girlfriend, can be an intriguing character even though it seems that the writers do not really know what to do with her in the second half of the series.Junior (one of the guys who is aspiring to find fame by catching a ghost on camera) can be rather annoying but he is annoying in the sense that one would not want to meet someone like him in real life, but it can be fun watching the nonsense he is up to in a series.

SO GOOD!! Definitely worth watching

I haven't watched the Korean version. The only reason I started watching the series was because of Saint and was definitely not disappointed. It was refreshing to see Saint play a completely different role than in his acting debut (Love By Chance). He was kind of like his partner Ae from LBC, a hot-blooded teenager. It was definitely interesting to see him play that role and then the character development where he learns to control his anger or at least divert it to the people/ghosts who are actually bad. Saint really is an amazing actor and it was really captivating to see him in this role.

It was a good series to watch after watching a series of BL series. I was doubtful if I am gonna like seeing a BL actor with a female lead but it was not awkward or distasteful at all. Orn (Jeen) was amazing too. Her character is the cheerful, happy-go-lucky girl and it is refreshing actually.

Together, Off and Jean, fight ghosts or find a way for them to move on to the afterlife. Here, if you don't believe in this kind of stuff, it might be hard for you to understand but for the ones who do, it is understandable how this happens. Some spirits are not able to move on for whatever reason and some spirits just annoy human beings because they can. Also, the CGI was better than expected. Especially, Dr. Jade's back was scary, and am really wondering how they made it look like that.

I would definitely recommend this to any user looking for an entertaining comedy.

a worth remake of the original

this is a good show.. if the original never came out it would be good on its own

like the original it has its own pluses and minuses.. overall it plays homage to the original while adding its own flair and twist to it

its worth a watch

the story was good and it took all the main points of the original and the classic scenes.. some exactly the same others.. twisted enough to give it its own flavor.. i liked that.. the ghost stories followed the original with one or two extra.. and i felt the ghost stories here had more depth.. more explaination on the reasons behind it.. it felt more fleshed out
the main plot felt more impactful.. more heavy or weightier than the original.. the reasoning behind the whole thing felt stronger.. and it gave the 2nd fl lead more impact.. and more things to do.. whether u liked that or not..

the romance between the two leads was definitely more fleshed it.. it felt less rushed that the original.. less need for the leap of logic..

the acting.. was definitely a bit weaker than the original but the chemistry was there between the cast.. it just needed more time to show up and develop.. it did get better as the show went along..

the music wasnt anything special but it was good when there was some and imposed a sense of the feeling needed for the scene.. but nothing to play over and over again..

watch this for the story.. ull see and no doubtly compare most of it to the original.. but overall its good on its own.. a remake that does the original justice while imparting its own flair and storytelling for their intended audience

Good Adaptation

there are unique scene in some of the eps. and it makes the characters do the role well. Also, I was expecting the scene in Korean series where Female Lead shout "OPPA" at the campus that make the Male Lead blush. ? and I didn't see it in Thai version but instead they adapt the part where they ask questions to Jeen to let other know that Off is his boyfriend.

for the action scene, I'm not that much convince, where the part that they fighting with the demon, i don't know if they forgot about the bracelet that they need to pickup it was long catch before they use the bracelet and it use it atleast 3mins in the scene, i was expecting to use it for long action part that will emphasize the capability of the bracelet.
but for some actions, I really like it where Jeen can also do some action stans. Then for Off I was really amazed that he do action stans as well knowing that in his other series he is more likely soft, fine and cute?.

I really love the OST it match in very scene, thou some are Thai language (that i dont understand) but still the music you will still feel the scene or the vibes of the character match to it.

Both main characters do there part very well, for the kissing scene I don't know if only me notice that everytime they kiss each other Jeen's mouth is slightly open. hahahaha (i don't know but its funny but still flattered) for the demon character he hook me from anger to hatred, hahaha great performance as well. for the other supporting role same with the other they perform as is what it is.

overall i can rewatch it again. ?

Freaking Funny

Oh wow this really funny and so freaky.

This is one of the first drama that I could honestly say I enjoyed with Saint, as I am not really a big fan of his, but this was done so good, and I enjoyed it, even though at times I had to take cover, when the some of the freaking scenes came on, the special effects in this drama was on point and so done so good, those zombies were so real looking and the make up was done on point.

The story was good in the sense of an out body experience, and for me this drama was just super cool and funny to watch, it is real light hearted and easy to pick up and follow.

Overall: this drama was on point and funny

Better than the Original

I had no idea going into this, that this was a Thai remake of "Bring It On Ghost," which was one of my favorite watches last year - but oddly enough, I actually agree with a lot of the comments -

I liked this remake a lot better than the Korean version, which is a HUGE compliment.

I enjoyed how it followed the plot of the Korean original, but it also added originality and tied in a lot of Thai culture and folklore.

I very much enjoyed all the characters - I felt that this drama dove into each character. We learned about a temperamental Off who was also empathetic and liked taking care of people. We got to know Jeen who had been a ghost for five years and just wanted to know about her human life and to not be left alone in a world that couldn't see or hear her. We got to see the growth of Leng & Junior and their ghost-fighting business. We got more of an inside look at Numwan & Dr. Jade and a relationship that actually formed, and not a one-sided crush. And that's what I enjoyed the most about this drama - it focused on relationships as well as ghost fighting, but they really took the time for the audience to get to know everyone and build relationships and friendships. I genuinely loved the friendship that Off formed with Leng & Junior and it didn't seem forced whatsoever like the Korean version. I loved that they showed more of Dr Jade and made him more "human" and seeing him struggle actually was heartbreaking.

But my favorite thing about this drama was where I was annoyed with the Korean drama for not connecting the dots and left me with a lot of questions, this drama explained everything. For example, wherein the Korean version, I was not sure if Jeen's character ever regained her memories. In this version though, not only did we get to see if she ever regained her memories, but we got to see her actually recover and go through recovery. Some of the cutest scenes in this drama were of Off taking care of her and helping her heal.

I would say the only thing that I didn't enjoy about this drama was Off's uncle being overly protective when he should have helped train Off physically and mentally. Off was not mentally prepared for that mess of the last episode and last fight, and luckily his love for Jean saved him. Other than that, I enjoyed all the missions, all the feels, and even the excess amount of gruesome deaths. This drama knew exactly what it wanted to be, and I enjoyed every second of it, including all the chessy scenes that weren't neccesary.

Let’s Watch it Again

The moral of the story: Everyone has a dark side, or a darkness that surrounds them. But what one must realize is to never give into that darkness, because one must have the strength to see the good in what they have rather than to let the darkness consume them due to their situation. No matter if one believes in ghosts, or a particular religion. At the end of the day, we must find it within ourselves to do good and be good, or we will never know what holding ourselves accountable is all about. No matter how one must look on the outside, what matters is within. You can be perfect on the outside, but watch out, someone may see what you really are inside. What good has being evil ever done? Maybe a lot. But not in a good way. So, don’t carry all that bad around. Let the good come through and show you the way. Therefore, fight your demons! Don’t let them consume you!

Anywho, I have to agree with the others. The Thai version is better. Don’t get me wrong, the Korean version is the OG, but…This version was more edgy, no filter, and hilarious! The romance was well-played and so sweet (Off X Jeen forever). I smiled at how open they were about their feelings, and how they truly acted like a couple. The scene where she washed his hair was so heartwarming, and Off’s loyalty to Jeen was endearing.

I was also a fan of the guy friends (the duo) in the Korean version. But I’m an even bigger fan of the duo in the Thai version. Leng and Junior made me laugh so much. The more I saw of them, the more I recognized their strengths. But not only that, they made me realize that when you connect with individuals and it starts to become this routine; you start to shine based on the chemistry and camaraderie. The more the club started to take off, I started to see that Leng and Junior weren’t all talk, but they actually served a purpose and could contribute their strengths and talents to the group. Off started taking the duo seriously, and without saying it, considered them good friends. The scene where the duo and Off are drunk in the bar and singing is so funny. The song they sang was really nice too.

I don’t think anything was rushed at the end. It all ended nicely, although, I was slightly frustrated with Jeen’s mother, but I did understand where she was coming from. And it turned out alright in the end. Nothing that had me wishing it was executed differently (a lot better approach than in the kdrama).

I’ll come back and definitely rewatch the drama again.

But there are things I must note:

- I wish Leng’s lover from his past life would have turned up at the end as a student at the school, or in the very least, bumped into him somehow. But I don’t know much about reincarnation, so maybe it wasn’t possible.
- I think the reason why Hyunji (the lead of Kdrama version) didn’t necessarily remember her experience as a ghost was because perhaps her memories started to become blurred with her reality. Everything started to become blurred, which is a good thing. Everything started to group together naturally (falling back in love with Bongpul and joining Soondae Soup)
- I like how the duo (Junior and Leng) had their little weapons and contraptions at the end; they weren’t just the consultants they became fighters too. Their fear of ghosts no longer paralyzed them as much either.
- Professor Jade was really scary. Like, why did the 2nd FL get with him even after she knew he was crazy and evil? I think it was really dumb on her part. I bet she was wishing she’d been attracted to Off.
- I kept on referring to Professor Jade as “Professor BamBam” (cuz I thought the Kpop star shared a “slight” resemblance to the actor). 555555.
- I liked the character designs a lot more in this drama. People gripe about the red dress, but I think it fit the overall vibe of Jeen’s character (Feisty but girly). I also like the Uncle’s character design (his hairstyle really added to his kookiness). Off sported a low-key goth garb. And Leng and Junior’s character designs were so retro; colorful patterned shirts, cool graphic tees, and stylish sneakers.
- I’m sad that the Uncle’s girlfriend/bestie (Orn) had to die. But I think she saw how much the Uncle loved Off, and her death was the catalyst in helping him realize that he couldn’t fight alone.
- I like how Off and Jeen fought together. They made a nice team.
- The soundtrack/OST was superb. I ended up Shazam-ing a lot of the songs featured in the show.
- The overall premise of the story reminds me of a 90s Hong Kong movie titled “Pretty Ghost”.
- I feel as though the story premise (original webtoon) was meant for a Thai adaptation. The story was executed so fearlessly and naturally. I think the story went well with Thai culture.
- Again, the romance was so cute and feel-good.
