All I can say is dear goodness. This series was excruciating for me to watch. Yes I said excruciating OK. I need you all to understand that my review is based on my perception as an adult. I believe that the younger and I mean much younger population would enjoy this I however did not. This series was about high school students with a crush. You know the kind where you keep a diary and draw hearts in but never say I like. This kind. These kids go on to college and their behavior mirrors that of high schoolers, literally.
I don’t honestly dislike it because the cast was immature, I disliked it because for me to see a person change their life goals to follow someone is not great or to see someone so infatuated with someone that they completely ignore the realities in front of them, it’s toxic and it’s scary to me. There was no real plot, no major events. Just a bunch of immature people infatuated with each other. Sadly it took about 25 episodes for our crushers to acknowledge their feelings. This is tooo long for a 32 episode series. So what we got was our female lead being pursued by those who wanted to be with her and her disregarding them to be with someone who hasn’t acknowledged or shown a love interest in her. This went on for many many episodes.

The positive is that....the acting was good.

Story: Nothing fancy about the story. Just your typical high school fun light drama. What i love most about this is that Zuo An like Xiaoman just as much as she like her. He liked her from the very start. Although the FL goes into the university just for him. It is the ML who helps after her the entire drama. He adores her.

Casting: The cast did pretty great throughout the entire drama. Even the silly scenes doesn't look cringy because the cast did great portraying it.

Music: Cute music just like “A Love so Beautiful”

Rewatch: Probability will rewatch some scenes soon.

The only thing i dislike about this drama is. They cut too many kiss scenes. ???? Wetv is unfair. XD

If you want a fun light campus drama. Try this.

The actors are very good, the plot is very interesting as it makes you feel like your there, you can expect to find yourself crying over a situation from the drama. It is a very lovely drama about young love, trust, anger, and college. Apart from that it conveys a beatiful message;to trust your partner wherever you are. What makes this an excellent drama is the lively acting, the lovely plot and overall message, and the goodlooking cast. They all did so well in playing the part , I will forever remember them from this specific drama. While watching this i felt so happy, the love portrayed is so realistic it makes you happy and content. 10/10 recommend watching!

This is your usual Chinese youth drama that gos from high school to college. I like how it started with the female lead being impulsive with a strong sense of justice and on the contrary, the male lead is quiet and aloof. What I don't like is how they didn't develop the girl's character. All throughout the drama, she was an airheaded female lead whose whole life revolved around trying to please and make things easy for the male lead. She made life decisions just to accommodate the male lead. It's like she doesn't have her own identity and thinks of herself as inferior to the male lead which is unhealthy. On the other hand, the male lead is book-smart but also naive. He also lacks courage. I want to finish this drama but the female lead character is really annoying me.

The Magic of a Fantasy Diary and a Hateful Fairy

To enjoy this drama you need patience and ability to endure painful process, because it is a slow burn romance. The main couple does not get together until the third quarter of the drama! Painful, because it seems like everyone and everything are against the confirmation of their love. Not that they hate each other, it is the other way around. Xiao Man and Zuo An have admired each other from kindergarten till university. They are also next door neighbors. But they are so self-conscious about their own shortcomings that even alcohol cannot help with the confession. It takes a hateful fairy to throw a fantasy diary to make it happen.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS DRAMA
(+) Some compared this drama with the Playful Kiss franchise where the female lead likes or chases the male lead first. But not so, or else I would have dropped it as I did with those dramas. This drama is introduced using the female lead narration, therefore it seems like she likes the male lead first.
(+) The wuxia scenes are forbidden to be skipped, they are so hilarious imagining the heroine Gu and the childe An in the fantasy land.
(+) Lu Zhao Ha is adorable as Gu Xiao Man. The actress face is very pretty to look at. Her acting is great, especially in terrorized scenes during her haemophobic period and scenes in the final episode
(+) I think actor Liu Yu Han did a great job acting as the nerd Zuo An. His character develops from cold, quiet, and reserved Zuo An to become emotional, romantic, and somewhat rebellious one.
(+) Cute chemistry between Xiao Man and Zuo An. Off course the three quarter part of the drama you will see the more natural awkward friendship between them, but in the last quarter after the confession that's where the cuteness overload is.
(+) The first time I saw Zhan Yue and Yaola bickering with each other I hoped they would become a couple because they are so cute together. I am glad the drama made it so, and they still bickering even after they are together. Many times I don't like drama side couples because they are fillers, but this adorable couple is Xiao Man's strongest supporters. Great acting and chemistry between actor Liu Yin Jun and actress Sun Yan Qing.
(+) As annoying as they are, actually the actors and actress who played as characters Zhan Yue, Chen Yang, and Anning did great in their acting in attempts to hinder the main couple's togetherness.
(+) Unique character of Chen Yang. He is charismatic yet repulsive, despicable yet caring. His unrequited love is compelling that Xiao Man does not know what to do with him. Actor Xie Zhi Xun did a great job acting as Chen Yang.
(+) Cute piglet. What a unique choice of a drama pet
(+) Xiao Man's strong support system.
(+) Cool dads (Xiao Man's, Zuo An's (later scenes), Anning's)

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THIS DRAMA
(-) Lots of dragging scenes and conversations as fillers typical Chinese dramas.
(-) Many unrealistic details or scenes, possibly due to bad directing or editing. For example Xiao Man's diary is ripped in pages by the antagonist. But later on when Xiao Man gets back the same diary all pages are intact nicely. A comment also stated of the part where people letting a kid drowned with nobody tried to looked for her. Wouldn't it be more believable having a scene of drenched wet girl laying down dead with parents crying around her???
(-) IMO the high school period is annoying due to the school/teacher control on the students. I am not sure if this is common in Chinese schools or just a drama exaggeration. A school announcement of Xiao Man ripped off Zuo An's pants... seriously??? Luckily they do not stay in the high school too long. The university period is far more entertaining.
(-) Although the plot is build nicely with all angst toward the confession, but I think the story goes downhill afterwards. Side stories and supporting characters are pushed forward. It seems like after becoming a couple, Xiao Man and Zuo An are busy running around fixing other people's problems (Anning, Chen Yang, Cheng Yang's sister and doctor, Zuo An's mom) because these people do not want to fix their own.
(-) What's up with the ending??? It seems like the team wants to make the final episode dramatic without using proper dramatic props. IMO the ending does not need to be dramatic for a drama to leave a last impression from the viewers. The Korean Weightlifting Fairy KBJ did a good job with a simple yet endearing college graduation finale.
(-) Annoying moms (Zuo An's, Anning's)

I was looking for a light, fluffy show about first love and during the first ten episodes I thought I finally found it. Episodes 11 through 29 were very disappointing and fast forward was my friend. If this were a Kdrama, they would’ve handled this story nicely in 16 episodes. There were way too many tests of their love.

I have to say that all of the parents were pretty cool, except for Zuo An’s and Sun Anning’s mothers...especially his...she was out of the country for most of his life then returns to tell him that Gu Xiaoman isn’t good enough for him and he has to be with Anning? This is exactly why I’m so glad that I was born to an American mother! ;)

Would like to see a remake of this without all the extraneous junk in the middle, but show more of their life as interns and a wedding...

I really liked the cast of this and think everyone acted well. The music was nice and fit the story well. However, I don’t think I will be watching this again.

This is your typical kind of school related cdrama but with a slight twist of wuxia snippets. The main female lead tend to write about a wuxia fantasy world of her crush and herself and those around her. - All in her diary.
The main story does not revolve around this though. Again, its your typical school idol drama - recycling the smart, no.1 male lead Zuo An and a not academically talented female lead, Xiao Man.

Another thing that makes this drama different from others is Xiao Man can defend herself whether it be verbally or physically. However, when it comes to emotions, she gets tossed around a lot and is gullible to the antagonist's antics.
This drama is easy to watch because the main leads knew who they love and fought hard to be together despite some family and friends' disapproval.

I like the character of Zuo An, he likes Xiao Man for who she is despite her being the total opposite of him. He's very chill and reasonable. He definitely puts Xiao Man first despite what everyone else says. However, the actor playing him wasn't strong. He seemed awkward at times.

Xiao Man's character is strong and sometimes she speaks with her emotions instead of being reasonable (which is usually where Zuo An comes in to help.) Although she's not smart academically, she still managed to become one of the smartest of all "smart male, dumb female leads" dramas I've seen so far. The actress Lu Zhao Hua who plays Xiao Man isn't an amazing actress, however, one of the scenes in the final episode really showcase her potential in acting. I was really surprised by her emotions there.

There are some characters that were very irritable; the characters Su An Ning played by Han Xinyu and Shen Chen Yang played by Xie Zhi Xun. I must say Han XIn yu played Su An Ning very well especially during her psychotic moments. Shen Chen Yang and Su An Ning are both irritiable because they wouldn't stop bugging the main leads and wanting to break them apart. Su An Ning is your typical jealous, female friend while Shen Chen Yang is just that annoying, very irritating, non-stop smiling as if he can get his way kind of character. I did not like Shen Chen Yang's character at all despite he has something that I'm able to relate with. However, I had no sympathy for him because he still plays around and uses it to his advantage. At least, Xiao Man wasn't 100% clueless about his antics.

Story starts from high school, college then short and quick adult life.
Recommend to watch if you like this genre, otherwise skip if you're picky about the acting.

Just like other Chinese youth drama, this is a cute and funny drama describing a young couple love story from high school to college BUT THE PLOT AND HOW THEY CHASE AFTER THEIR LOVE IS SO INTERESTING. There are many things I like about this drama.

I like it how the writer makes the ML loves the FL as much as she loves him. They admire and have good feelings for each other since they were little. I really love how he cares and always be there for her since the first episode until the end of the drama. It’s just that it took me more than 20 episodes to finally see Zuo An and Xiao Man knows each other feelings. It is so frustrating because whenever one of them tries to confess, there is always sth interrupts them. However, I still like the plot.

Their chemistry is very very very good <3 The kiss scenes are cute even though it is short lol

It's a very cute, lighthearted show that reminds me a lot of A Love So Beautiful and Put Your Head on My Shoulder. The male lead has as big of a crush on the female lead as she does on him. It's rare to find a high school/college drama where the Male lead crushes this openly. Unfortunately, he likes her so much that he is oblivious to the fact that she likes him back and is too scared to tell he how he feels. He then spends too many episodes pushing her away and waste a lot of time making up for the stupid stuff he does.

When they do get together, they are adorable, and they give you several episodes of cuteness. I felt like the wait was worth it, but I also fast forward quite a bit. I don't think I would have liked it as much if I wasn't so comfortable fast forwarding.

The ending was also very abrupt and rushed. But because it came out of nowhere, only last and episode and a half, and was resolved quickly, it didn't ruin the show for me. It was a weird ending but not a sad one.

People find it slow but it's entertaining. When watching C drama it's normal and Don't stop half way.
I love how fresh and innocent the love that they portray.
Story:
I love school themed drama so if you like me you will find it interesting too.
The story spans from high school to college (to working adults).
The story is comparable to A love so beautiful but with different setup and plot.
Acting and music is just right, it feels fresh no heavy feeling and since it's just feel good drama.

Overall I enjoyed it.

Whenever anyone says "All I want for love is you," I say "let's watch it "

This drama is perfect. I would never get rid of watching it. I love this drama. The best part of this drama is the shyness between the male and female lead.

Story: The story is perfect. The plot is awesome. I must say the writer has done a perfect job. The thing I don't like about the plot is that there are some ancient scenes. It's not that I don't like ancient dramas or ancient scenes, no I like them even I have watched 3 ancient dramas. But, the point here is that it is not necessary here.

Acting/cast: I love the acting of the drama. It is wonderful. The cast of this drama had done a very good job and has made the drama perfect. Whenever I dramas there are some scenes where I feel the actors or cast can make it more realistic or better but it has not happened to me in this drama.

Music: I have not listened to the ost of this drama so I don't have the authority to judge the music.

FL was absolutely ANNOYING

Okay I had high hopes from this drama based on the trailer of it. We have this strong girl who’s in love with this quiet smart guy, you know the usual. BUT the story was absolutely garbage and I blame the FL for this. First of all the FL made choices that were only for the ML! She chose the same college as him to major in the medical field when she is scared of blood! Her original dream was to become a teacher but due to her grades in high school she had to study harder than everyone else…but of course she wasted her hard work in high school since she threw out her dream for the ML.

Now the ML also had me stressed throughout the drama as well. He was definitely confusing when trying to figure out if he liked the FL or not. Especially when his childhood friend meets up with him. He put his childhood friend first than the FL, the FL he treated like a little sister Everytime she would get into trouble and the FL thought that was romantic. OMG, and when the childhood friend set up the FL and black mailed the SFL the ML still SUPPORTED HER! He went to America with her and everything!

Honestly I only continued this drama just for the second couple in this. They were more realistic and cute as they developed feelings for each other.

All in all, this drama started off strong but completely fell off when they went off to college.
