The Twin Swords takes up the story right where Temple of the Red Lotus had left it, and Lian Zhu and Gui Wu continue to lead it. After having eloped from the family's castle, the married couple witness a group of women being kidnapped and taken away to the Red Lotus Temple. They decide to go to their rescue, yet they underestimate the dangers of the place they enter. After Lian Zhu is taken captive, Gui Wu must go back to the Gan family's home to plead for help, but the Red Lotus Temple hides mortal traps which won't let everyone leave unharmed...
