The Weakest Gu Man Drama
Story: In one word, half of this drama is basically skipable. It was so boring to watch when they playing online game, as the scenes about the aerospace. Unlike other Gu Man's drama, this drama is more plain in the romance side and the career side of the MCs. There were no serious conflicts in this drama except the MCs mental's struggle of showing their feelings. However, as typical Gu Man's drama, the romance is very sweet and addictive for rom-com fans.Acting: I adore the 2 main actor actress in this drama. Honestly, I haven't watched Yang Yang drama since Love O2O (I dropped Martial Universe). And this drama proved Yang Yang's acting is remarkable. Perhaps Yang Yang is more suitable for modern drama (just my subjective opinion). Dilraba's acting is natural and amusing. She was like acting herself as her role is an actress, therefore she didn't have to put much effort to act. The chemistry between MCs also top notch. I can feel their emotions as if they are real couple. No wonder this CP will be loved by huge fans, not mention their stunning faces.
Music: the OSTs are good, some of it is notable but not very impressive.
Overall: I don't know if the novel's plot is similar with the drama, but my thoughts are this drama has too many unnecessary scenes, like the online game and the aerospace. It took almost half of this drama and that basically no story to tell at all. I also found other dramas which had similar trope are boring, but they didn't insert too many of online game scenes. If this drama didn't cast these 2 top actors, I don't think anyone will hold on to watch until the end.

Boring at its finest!
Have watched several Cdramas and I could say this is so far the most boring one I have watched. I tried this due to high ratings and the cast were all good and famous. But I agree with the unpopular reviews here..this is boring and storyline about gaming and then switched over to aeronautics does not add up to any romantic feelings to smile about on this drama. Its more of a scifi drama instead of romcom. The plot should have been a famous actress falling in love with a regular guy..but this was not emphasized. There are other cdramas to watch if the plot is about a famous actress and a regular guy..this series is definitely not it. Dilraba and Yangyang may have been paid a huge amount on this drama for them to play this..or prolly because it has something to do with being nationalistic since the drama is about chinese satellite. Was this review helpful to you?
A drama that really live up to the expectation.
The perfect harmony between romance and career. This drama initially focused on YuTu struggles with his career achievement and some society judgement. I was skeptical at first because i thought this gonna be another drama which when the romance starts, the main focus going astray but it doesnt happened in this drama. The writer made a great job mentioning the current world trend. Those who involves in limelight career usually get paid a lot yet those professionals (researchers, engineers) cant even matched to them even if they work hard studying and writing papers. They brought this difference without belittle one another.
The perfect timestamp for this drama is what makes it stood out for me. It took about 8 years for our ML to really achieve his dream. Although they did the time skip, i feel like we didnt miss a lot on their journey, be it our couple career and relationship.
The first proposal becomes my favorite proposal from the drama land i guess? The non-cliche and subtle element made me squeal.
I love how there’s no unnecessary misunderstanding between the lead and they really talk it out whenever a problem arises. This drama doesnt need any try hard interactions between the lead to show off their chemistry. I really like when they actually put small gestures to show it.
Our main couple knows how to be fluffy and serious. Its interesting that both of them are so mature and behave like a real adult with life comittments. Thats rare especially in cdrama lol
Not to mention, the visuals of this two lead is the best out of many dramas i watched?
The whole wardrobe in this drama deserves 100% from me. Initially i was disturbed by yutu all the time black outfits but i think that’s just how they wanna potray his character. Jingjing doesnt need any over the top fashion to show she’s a big star in this drama. It really creates harmony for this drama because i often distracted with fashion vs character vs plot lol
Not gonna lie i actually shed some tears towards the end cause i really resonates with yutu struggles and at the end of the day, he really achieved whatever he needs but remains realistic on how long the journey still.
This drama really serves me everything i need in modern romance drama. It really lives up to the expectation. Definitely a rewatch!
p/s : i need another yangyang and reba drama because their chemistry is a top notch. Both YY and Reba is already a good actor and actress but i think they really outdid themselves this time.

Really enjoying the drama
Nice well written novel and drama follows it to a tee. Always a fan of Dilraba and Yang Yang. Not sure why some think Yang Yang is stiff and stoic since his character is written like that? I also think his face expresses his turmoil and struggles so well!Dilraba is great and gorgeous as usual! And characters are very mature and have great ordinary conversations with subtle wittiness throughout.
It's obvious YT's character is facing a career crisis and it shows in every part of his life. But with the meeting of the FL, you see his character start relaxing and he starts to let down his guard. I think at first she distracts him from his troubles. But later he comes to realize just how much he needs her.
So far enjoying this drama immensely.

When Stars Collide
This week all my five dramas are coming to end one after the other and as usual I find it hard to move on finding another drama to watch specially if I enjoyed watching the previous ones. I don't know what to call it but I tend to drama shop, watch one episode and then drop, then look again watch and drop. I know I'm not the only drama fan that has experienced this set back after a beautiful drama watch. Then I came across a write up wherein the writer at the end gave a list of her on going watch and all time favorites. I always compare titles and on the look out for possible good titles, I'm also done with her Korean titles but was curious with the three Chinese drama titles she is watching. Although I have watched several Chinese dramas already I can't say I'm a fan. So I tried to look out from MDL the title You are my Glory, watch the trailer and decided to watch episode 1, after which I know...I was hooked. The story is simple but real, both main characters Yu Tu and Jingjing are so good looking and I find their chemistry so alluring and sweet. I like the slow build up of their friendship and Jingjings honesty when it comes to her feelings for Yu Tu. There is something in their ordinary meetings that tugs your heart.
When stars collide there are explosions and sparks, and struggles, and we don't want as much to happen.
When we come to realize the love that is in front of us we can either embrace it or feel inferior and walk away...
But then love always find a way ♥️

The struggles are real!
For the first 12 episodes I have watched and rewatched since July 26, I never expected to be so emotionally attached just like I did when I watched the movie, The Left Ear. If Xu Yi in The Left Ear brought back my struggles as a student trying to be good, Yu Tu in You Are My Glory scrapes off my struggles in the field of my profession. The way Yang Yang ge delivers his lines, portrays emotions through his eyes and voice, chokes and cracks me to tears every single time! The dilemma of someone who is hitting, or is at, his/her 30s and doesn't feel accomplished, feels lost, and is deliberately unsupported is pretty tormenting in the soul. IT ALL FLASHED BACK TO ME BECAUSE OF YU TU. To yearn for even just one person to make you feel that your emotions are valid, compel you with their company, then find yourself smiling again because of the people you least expect to cheer, love and support you is a silver-lining. IT ALL CAME BACK TO ME THROUGH YU TU.I cannot wait to completing the whole series! How will Yu Tu resolve his filial, financial, and professional struggles? How will Yu Tu finally realize that he is worthy of the love being offered by Qiao Jing Jing for the past 10 years?
PS:
For those who say You Are My Glory is just another e-sports drama, YOU ARE VERY WRONG. For those who say Yu Tu is just another Xiao Nai, YOU ARE SO MISTAKEN.

Not so much 'drama' as it is cotton candy fiction.
If you're sick and tired of contrived melodramatic plot devices used to drive angsty drama, then this is a salve for your soured soul.(I wanted to use 'cynicised' instead of 'soured' because it flowed better in that sentence, but a double-check online says that 'cynicised' isn't recognised as a word as such. Pity.)
Filled with fluffy feel-good romance of two good-looking people.
Regular moments of the people who are anti the main leads getting their just deserts, without the main leads suffering anything particularly difficult.
Mostly angst-free.
It's no great literary or dramatic masterpiece. Once you've seen it, you've seen it. There is nothing about it that demands your attention really, unless your soul is personally in great need of said 'candy', so the rewatch value is very low. I'll give it a quarter score for those soul-soother seekers out there.
If it has any value it is a small time capsule of modern life. The gaming trend. The ease of, and type of communication devices. The impact of social media. The over-valuing of 'celebrity'. The under-valuing of smarts. A significant moment in China's space-faring history. Things along those lines. Doesn't really record any of the significant hardships of modern life, though. The characters are all doing well financially (relatively speaking). Again, it's a simple cotton candy fiction.
The music/sound track I really have no memory of. This fact says it wasn't particularly good, nor bad (it didn't intrude upon the story). As such I'll give it a half score.
The acting was great. Couldn't remember any sour notes to speak of. The actors sold their characters to me. But let's face it, it's not like this cotton candy fiction would have been particularly demanding of them in the first place. Simply because I don't think the parts would have been demanding I'll take 1 point off from full points. Full points should only be given for dramatic roles that are more demanding.
Frankly the lead female character being a little too childish (high squeaky voice, some particularly immature moments) was a bit off-putting for me. But that is just my personal perception/bias so I won't score the series down for it.
The story? As said in this review's summary/heading, not so much complex flavoured 'drama' as it is a sugar laden cotton candy piece of fiction. I don't want to over value a production that isn't going to be remembered past the actor's popularity shelf life. But then, for what there was of it, the overall production and presentation of the series hit the mark. It was precisely what it aimed to be, without any sour notes that brought the overall production down. Full marks because it was produced well, but 1 point off because the story isn't really worth remembering.
For the overall score, I'll round up a point simply it was packaged and presented so well. Good job all round.
(9.0 + 9.0 + 5.0 + 2.5)/4 = 6.375
+1 = 7.375
~7.5

The visuals we were waiting for
Yes, was absolutely waiting for this pairing to happen. The visuals and acting are to die for! but frankly speaking, I am unable to continue past 18 though I had seem snippets and preview for the later episodes. It just felt like there wasn't much story to tell anymore and I can more or less predict what will happen in the remaining episodes and this proves to be true after watching the short clips circulating online. So after episode 18, Yu Tu basically comes into terms with himself and pursues Jingjing who accepts his feelings. The subsequent episodes seems mostly just sweet scenes and them being in love etc. For fans or watchers that are purely in for the romance, please yes do continue. For a watcher like myself, I prefer having stories and growth or thicker plots instead ofsuch heavy romance drama? For my personal palette, yes i was anticipating this drama ever since it was announced, but its not really living up to my taste though I understand it is a close replica of the novel it was adapted from (I did not read the novel too).
Nevertheless, I am sure many fans are enjoying this. I made it through 50%, but I don't think I will continue since to me it seems like there isnt anymore to tell than the leads accepting and loving each other after. I am sure it's gonna be a happy ending :) to the next drama then ~

Yang Yang's acting is superb
This us the most beautiful drama I've ever watched till now. I'm not bluffing. From the very first episode it has a beautiful opening! Woww how can be a first eoisode be this beautiful??And then Yu Tu. You can feel the weight of every dialogue Yu Tu says! We face this problem all the time in our life! How can you abondone the sea of star when "you are already the rabit who have seen the most stars". The hesitation, the pain, the emotions Yang Yang showed it so lively that you cannnot but feel his pain by heart! You will cry for Yu Tu!
And how will be the moment when he meet your 10 years secret crush again! You got to talk with him roam with him! Your undying emotions is next to your mouth but you won't say! Jing Jing is a very bold and powerful character! She is a celebrity but she is that high school girl who feels for his crush too!
This drama is a mixture of emotions! This drama shows life! And their slow burning romance is burning me wholeheartedly!!!
This isn’t just a drama this is emotion! You can feel every bit of it! You will swallow every drops of it!
Best best best!

You wont regret watching this cdrama
The drama itself is a top tier for me and add the casts--10/10, in most of the scenes I literally screamed and felt the romantic excitement I have for both the leads, don't forget their OST my favorite OST of You Are My Glory is "Fall in Love" by Mika and Curley, I really love the drama, and I also am thankful that this drama doesn't have much of antagonist, even from episode 1-5 I was so happy that those parts were just how they played and how they got close until the match day.As for the other episodes, I actually felt sad when she was turned down again by Yu Tu, she actually likes and loves him a lot since in their senior high school, and I was happy again after Yu Tu seeing her messages from his old computer, JingJing is just too pure, I really love her.
And also her fans--her fans are *chef's kiss* they are very supportive of her and even ship Yu Tu and JingJing on the matchday,
I usually get to watch dramas like this that shows the toxic sides but in this drama, her fans are supportive and even other people that are not her fan, though they could have added a bit more highlights on her celebrity life--like how her fans supported her I get that they are low-key though so I'm still glad that this drama made me happy in the midst of my tiring days.
All in all, what I can say is that this is now one of my top drama throughout the years I've been watching since the very start of my addiction to dramas. I recommend to you all this drama, you won't regret watching this drama.

Slow burn romance and true love
Yang yang brought me here from Who Rules the World. I was a bit skeptical when I see the poster but this cdrama turns out to be worth it.Let's talk about the cast. I suppose YY is famous in China, but after watching WRTW and Love o2o, I think he's suited to play historical characters due to his dashing demeanor. But I do love Yu Tu character. Ambitious person from normal background, realistic and relatable. Not some perfectly handsome and rich CEO. His passion for aerospace is also admirable.
Meanwhile I think Dilraba is the perfect Qiao Jing Jing. We can see her character development from school girl until her 30s. How she grew from being in love to being a supportive partner. I also like how real her character is, as a famous actress, how she need to watch her weight, busy lifestyle, being rejected and how not everything is perfect for her. What truly admirable is her dedication towards YT and how YT influenced her to be a better person.
As for the plot and storyline, the drama is divided into 3 phase. The gaming part, the pursuit part and married life. I think of dropping the shows after first few episodes but still, I pushed through and I'm glad I did because no matter how mundane the earlier plot is, its critical for later plot development.
I like how cdrama nowadays involved social issues such as achieving dream, being filial, income, weight, long distance relationship and the right to be childless. The drama is also very positive and the couple doesnt seems to have a lot to fight on, and some audience might argue if this is realistic or not, but actually it is. Compromise and understanding is the basis of happy and healthy relationship. While some people crave drama and toxic relationship, I'm glad there are producers out there decided to create positive dramas like this. There is still hope in this world after all.
All in all, do watch it if you like slow burn romance and true love.
