A masterpiece of storytelling

This is a gripping drama , half Sci-Fi , half thriller , dealing with the real life of ordinary contemporary people living in South Korea today , while debating the big issues of Life , Death , the After life , Rebirth and Life Eternal . It is ingenious and comforting , moving , overwhelming , always deeply serious and authentic ( The Comfort Women for example ) and utterly believable as well as enjoyable .
There is an amazing cast with good chemistry between them .
The Rookie Grim Reaper played by Rowoon is adorable and you identify with him wholeheartedly . Kim Hee Sun is wonderful in her part and Kim Hae-Sook the Jade Emperor the very person you would like to meet after Death .
I will watch it again to appreciate the dialogue even more ( very well written script ) but I have watched the last scene several times and love the ending . All will be well on Earth and in Heaven .

A Must Watch Drama

A beautiful drama that everyone deserves to watch. Is a drama about loving the life. Is about saving those who are more afraid of tomorrow that death. Is about loving yourself first and save yourself. Is about no giving up. Is a drama that calls out injustices and talks about delicate topics with the seriousness that deserves. Talks about bullying, eating disorders, war prisoners, sexual abuse, how society abandoned the veterans of war, about comparing yourself to others, etc. Tomorrow is a must watch drama and you will not regret watching it. It has an excellent cast that brought alive the webtoon characters and a excellent director who maintain the essence of the story. And finally is a drama about happiness and following your dreams.

Sometimes, love is not enough ... Are you sure about this?

This drama is about people and their everyday problems that they cannot cope with. Each person has a story, each person will deal with their problems differently. For some people a given issue will be only a tiny fraction of their lives, for others this small problem will be the whole world.
Tomorrow shows a wide range of problems that millions of people around the world have to deal with on a daily basis, despite the fantasy element, each of us can actually relate to it, we can look at a given problem from every point of view and realize that our words and deeds have great power. Thanks to them, we can make someone happy or destroy someone, and this is a great responsibility that we carry on our shoulders every day without even realizing it.
Sometimes an innocent joke, a stupid comment made on the spur of the moment or making a life decision at an inappropriate, ill-considered moment can have a huge impact on our or someone else's life and we will have to live with the consequences of our actions and sometimes no matter how much we want to turn back time, how much regret our deeds, we cannot go back in time and change our fate.
This is what this drama teaches us, everything happens for a reason, everything we do in life matters, we - all of us - are valuable and each of us has a power that we should use wisely. The power that each of us has is free will and the ability to make decisions. So before we take any action, before we express any opinion, before we do something, we must think carefully and consider what impact our path will have on us and on others. Each of us has our own problems, each of us got the so-called mustard seed so you have to remember that you are not really alone.

lives matter, everyone deserves a chance to live.

oh wow, this drama is insane, beautiful, touching and emotional. The actors, the script, the plot, NOTHING was to be desired. I wouldn't change anything in this drama, nor would I add because everything is in the right measure. thanks MBC for making room for much needed issues that need attention. and despite the unnecessary controversies it remains one of the best kdramas ever released. I hope that in the future everyone can appreciate this work of art that deserves more recognition. ♡♡♡♡ best kdrama of the year, fact!

The best fantasy drama ever.

I loved this drama. Loved the whole concept and storyline. Although it had some unrealistic topics but still great for putting some reality truth elements of our daily life. I loved each one of those characters, there's no single character that I didn't like. There was a history of everyone that got me more hooked. Now that I finished it, I really miss them especially Mr. Choi Joon Woong and Ms. Koo Ryeon. But anyway, let's just hope for a sequel cause I really want it....so baddd TwT

Should I die?! If I don't want to face TOMORROW!

Must watch...
Best drama ever...
This drama is about grim reaper, afterlife, suicide,etc..
It is from a webtoon named "TOMORROW".
Because the person who wants to end their life don't want to face TOMORROW.. that's why..
If I have to say something that is personal..., I was in depression and often in a suicidal mood and even wanted to die many times in these 2 years?☹..!(I'm a student preparing for college entranceexam.. So, you automatically know why..?)
But after watching this drama, I strongly decided not to end my life at any cost and any difficulties..?
And live and enjoy upto my lifespan..???
This drama will definitely have a impression throughout my life. ?
For the producers of this drama, I really Thankyou..
고맙다??

WHAT A JOURNEY! THIS DRAMA WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART!

This is one of the best kdrama i have ever watched! They are not enough words to describe this drama, it is just amazing!
I wasnt sure about it when i watched the trailer but after episode one, the drama won me over!
Everything about it its just so real and painful but in a very beautiful way, if you watch it you will understand what i am talking about.
The storyline was so powerful and there was not even one episode that i didnt like, i loved them all and all of them teach me some very meaningful messenges.
This drama talked about very serious matters with a very respectful way and they didnt try to make them look nice, which is very important, some things are just bad and they have nothing nice on them! It had a variety of issues that each episode portrait, for example eating disorders (anorexia), bullying, death, war, rape, mental health issues etc and the most important suicide.
The drama is based on suicide (so please be careful and watch the trigger warnings to make sure you are safe).
Aside of great plot, it had great characters as well. Characters with depth and development, that made you fell in love with them. Each of them (even the side ones) had their own backstory that you got to explore, heartbreaking stories that reminds us that everyone has problems and things they suffer from (always be kind). All the characters were so different but somehow they just create amazing bonds, the chemistry they all had with each other was impressing.
It had a love story too, a very painful yet healing story, that describe what love means and how sometimes in the end you cant fix every crack on a broken glass but you can still try ( i am glad they let an open end to them, i would like to think that they end up together eventually).
The acting was great too, i had some fears for Rowoon, cause i am not a big fan of his previous jobs (his acting in them) but i was happy to be surpriced, he did an exeptional job here. All of them did a great job.
The drama can easily have a second season! And i would love to watch it. I think i am not ready to say goodbye yet!

Overall, i think this is an unbelievable good story that everyone should watch (please like i already said, mind the triggers, because there are a lot of them). It is a very hard and real drama but at the same time so beautiful and healing!

I highly recommented!

Something New and Different

This drama takes a break from the normal "boy meets girl, they can't stand each other but fall in love anyway" theme. It is fantasy genre and takes the viewer into an imaginary world of grim reapers. It also tackles the very hard subject of suicide, mainly suicide prevention. Each episode is a different story, but woven into this is the main plot which culminates at the end. I thought this was very cleverly done by the writers and kept me glued to both the episode storylines, and the main plot.

What really jumped out at me in this drama is how well the casting was. The right actors were cast for the right parts, and lent such a strong believability to this fantasy story. The development of the main characters, their own personal storylines showing both their strengths and weaknesses, gave such richness to the overall drama. I finished wanting more. I loved the four main characters, and would love to see another season produced. I didn't get enough of Goo Ryun, Choi Joon Woong, Park Joon Gil, and Im Ryung Goo.

A piece of advice--have tissues handy as some of the episode storylines will squeeze your heart and having you bawling like a baby.

A kdrama where you will learn a lot.

I will just say it upfront that this kdrama is a MUST WATCH! This kdrama has it all, fantasy, action, drama, a little bit of romance and etc.

First, I just want to comment something about their intro. It is so damn cool. It has a very nice dark feeling to it and the badumbadumbadumbadum bgm is just perfect. I literally can’t skip it!!

Next, the most important in all kdramas, the story. The stories they showcase in every episode are just amazing and an eye opener. I actually didn’t know anything about the issues the people faced in the past but because of this kdrama, I learned something new that is very significant. It is just very nice that they show various topics that is very relevant to us nowadays because it makes us reflect on ourselves and on our actions. I really cried a bucket in each episode because the scenes were heartwarming yet sad at the same time. Let me just tell you all to prepare your tissues.

Next, the casting/actors. I am speechless. I literally have no words on the casting because it is PERFECT! While I was watching this kdrama, I never thought that a certain character would be better if they were portrayed by another actor because they all did their roles very well. There were a lot of intense scenes but they never failed with their emotions. And also, the “staring contest” scenes (of joongryeon) is so amazing!! Even though they are not saying anything, I can understand what their eyes want to say. I just want to mention actress Kim Hee Sun (which became my favorite after watching this kdrama) for giving her all in this kdrama. She was required to dye her hair once every 4 days just to maintain her pink hair color and that is not easy at all. Kudos to all the actors for doing a really really great job!

Next, the game changer in this kdrama, JOONGRYEON!! The Park Joong Gil x Goo Ryeon ship in this kdrama is goddamn fire. A life changing ship I must say. I am a fun of romcoms and light/sweet kdramas but this kdrama changed it. The angst and pain that this couple gave me was out of this world :)) If you haven’t watched it yet, just prepare your heart in advance.

Lastly, we all know that this kdrama faced a very big controversy. I just want to say that let us all stop the hate towards the kdrama and the actors. As a kpop fan myself, I know that what they did was not right at all but giving this kdrama dislikes and low ratings just because of that is also not right. We should all be mindful of our actions.

All in all, you will not regret watching this kdrama. This is one of my favorites now because it is just sincerely very good. If you are looking for a sign to watch this, then this is it.

One of the best K-drama - if not the best I’ve watched

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all in for a fluffy rom-com anytime . What caught me initially was because Lee Soo Hyuk and Rowoon was in this drama

I definitely got hooked minutes after the drama. The message that the series related hit me so hard. It really prompts you to keep a lookout of the people around you.

The acting of the casts were stellar! Definitely no complaints and everyone was so cool even during those emotional scenes…(do keep a box of Kleenex like I did through the series!)

Although I would ask for more romance element (if possible), but knowing that this is not really a romance themed drama, I’m contented.

I highly recommend this drama; or even rewatch it when I have extra time

Niche But Kinda Bittersweet!

‘ Tomorrow’ is one of those dramas that you’ve seen in concept a million times before in webcomics and fantasy concepts; the everyday Joe main lead is transported into an unfamiliar setting, brought to face some ugly truths and suddenly confronted by new realities.

Of course, ‘ Tomorrow’ isn’t a drama without its really enticing features either. Rowoon is an idol actor who has been upcoming in the world of rom-coms for a few years, though most will likely have seen him before in ‘ Extraordinary You’. I was hesitant to see him take up the role of the main lead here. I loved Rowoon a lot despite my honestly mixed feelings in the formerly mentioned work but I wasn’t entirely sure how Rowoon would come across in a role where he wasn’t going to be a central love interest. Of course my dread was completely unnecessary. He knocked the ball out of the park with his performance.

To be fair I have some honestly very mixed feelings with his character but I think we’ll get onto that issue a bit later.

Kim Hee Sun was another familiar face in the series. I never liked ‘Alice’ a lot as a fantasy series but I can’t deny that she seriously impressed me with her dual role and performance. She really knocked my socks off here as the female lead of the series. Another two faces to look out for are Lee Soo Hyuk, staying in his element from his long career of playing antagonistic and brooding characters, as the supporting rival of the female lead ( with his own skeletons in the closet) and of course Yun Ji On, new to me as an actor, but still fairly impressive with all things considered.

Maybe one of the biggest things you’ve probably heard about ‘ Tomorrow’ has been sourced from its messages. As a lot of other reviewers have pointed out the series isn’t afraid to get into sticky subject areas, including some scathing criticisms of Korean society and issues such as mental health, suicide and trauma being central. Honestly, I thought it was brave of the screenplay to put these issues out in the open but I do have to be honest with my thoughts here. It took away a bit from the writing.

I did think as mentioned previously it was brave of the writing to discuss these issues but I’ve always thought that messages and characters while often being placed hand in hand should be treated as desperate issues when it comes to development. The problem with ‘ Tomorrow’ was that the writing was never sure when to draw the line. We saw a lot of trauma coming through with backstories in order to make it seem “ dark” but I never felt as though we really got to see further into these characters like the female lead, whose storyline and backstory was really put together like patchwork similar to the other supporting characters who had rushed storylines.

My biggest pet peeve was the main lead . In all honesty, I get the writing argument. Having a mundane character amongst a flock of bright and intriguing individuals is often said to allow viewers to become intrigued by the seemingly “ normal” protagonist and stand out. HOWEVER, the main lead’s problem was that I couldn’t really connect to him emotionally or through his development. Yes, he struggled with landing a job and slowly changed his views but I struggled even as a viewers to understand where these views originated or why he was so cynical in some areas, yet so naive in others. Was this to do with his family background? , His childhood?, An experience in adulthood or his relationships? Something so small could’ve really helped to build up the main lead’s character but it was a shame we didn’t see this get carried further.

The actual plot was a bit of a patchwork piece also. I liked the fact that it discussed lots of different issues and helped to spice things up with different narratives but aside from a rough drawing of some events in the background, it was hard to really sketch out the importance of these characters or storyline events. It was really messy and it felt as though it was only by the final part that the writing team had a sudden eureka moment to put all of these loose story points into a big final arc and cram them into a short space of time, failing to really help to buildup them up or give a detailed conclusion. In my opinion this impacted the ending big time and the finale came out like a mixture of gushy happiness in order to satisfy some viewers but left a lot more questions than answers.

I don’t think the series was bad at all and I liked how direct it was with themes and there was certainly some really gorgeous moments of filming. Still, I don’t think this series had a key ingredient of writing and plot building which often left it feeling a bit aimless. A good series maybe for a binge watch and definitely worth it to see some good acting but mostly Hee Sun’s pink hair and Lee Soo Hyuk in a suit but apart from that, it’s definitely a strong 8.0/10.
