Nothing goes to waist in this short film!

I started this short film trepidatiously due to the title---My Wife Got Fat. Too often fat shaming is condoned and can be cruel and demoralizing. Thankfully, there was no judging or taunting here.

When a wife wakes up to find she’s gained 2.2 kg/ 5 lbs she becomes frustrated that she’s gotten “fat.” Her husband doesn’t say much but begins to observe her. What he discovers touches him and he makes a plan.

Jang Young Nam played the anxious and loving wife and mother. It was hard for me to think of this slender woman as “fat.” I kept hoping her husband and sons would tell her how beautiful she was and to not be discouraged. Kim Tae Hoon brought a tenderness and understanding to the husband. Kim Joon as the youngest son is one of the most adorable child actors around. Fortunately, Ahn Ji Ho’s teenager wasn’t awful like so many teens are shown as being and was also enlisted to help the mom out. Throw in a cute dog and this family was about as perfect as they get. The resolution made the husband even more endearing.

With all of the dysfunctional families in Kdramas it was a joy to see a loving, supportive family. Though not even in my dreams could I aspire to be as “fat” as this thin mother. The mom was beautiful, active, and cared for her family and never should have felt less than. Apparently, not only beauty, but fat is in the eyes of the beholder. Thankfully, the beholder in this film saw his wife through the eyes of love.

A mother that wants to loose weight

I just watched this drama because of Jang Young Nam who usually play the role of villain... but this time she will portray the role of a mother <3
This short film depicts about a beautiful mother who wants to loose weight but keeps on gaining weight. During motherhood, it is common for a mother to gain weight because of her hormones and the food she eats are the factors. The mother doesn't have self esteem and conscious of her weight. She gains weight because of her family such as getting the food on the floor so that it won't end up being wasted and left overs by her kids will be ended up consumed by her.

I really don't see anything fat about the mother because she is still pretty and being loved by her family. One must embrace body positivity! Jang Young Nam is a pretty mother and I don't see any flaws from her!

I love this short drama!

very good 12 minute film

I just loved this short film!!!
During this 12 minute film i only felt joy and happiness.
Its cute seeing the love from the husband on how he describes why his wife cant lose weight, its the little emotions showed that make it so good.
The moments with her 2 children are also very cute and full of love.
It was so good that i wish it was a little bit longer.
If you want to spend a 12 minute break from society this is good for you.
I will definitely rewatch this in the near future.

It's a short film worth seeing because it's pretty good, funny at times, and has some really good actors.

It's about how a particular woman perceives her body. I think a lot of people can relate to this situation. The presented situation concerns a mother who doesn't want food to go to waste. She is the one who eats all the leftovers, which results in a slight weight gain. This makes her anxious. Her husband sees all this and the events are also presented from his perspective. Ultimately, he tries to support her and not lead to a situation where the woman eats between meals.
I liked how the husband's perspective was shown. He tried to explain and appreciate everything.
