SADLY DISAPPOINTED

Ok don't get me wrong...geminifourth is always a reason to watch a series...but im disappointed...the episode was very blah....same old lines just diffrent universe...I knew this could have been better...winnysatang and markford were adorable as always but still could have been better...I liked the mv thought...it was nice...
You know to be honest I wish they just showed us them being boyfriends...in this episodes they weren't even together...the crew got lazy and decided...why not promote the merchandise instead of giving a new story...I get the boys are popular and all but seriously am disappointed...

A multiverse of cuteness, yes, but it could have been better

It’s adorable! I like the switch in characters, I think everyone did a great job in the role they were given. I think these two parts really gave Gemini a chance to showcase his talents, something that he really shined at. I think he has an amazing voice. As does Ford.

A lot of scenes were just redone from what we got in the original series, but we also got quite a few new scenes. And those fit in really well with the whole flow of the story. And I liked the fact that they switched some scenes between the couples or put them into a different setting. Por and Yo are still adorably clueless. But we finally have Tiwson and Por as an official couple. Yay! There was an additional ship of mine that sailed. So that made me happy too!

I did feel like the whole thing seemed kind of choppy at times. And while I know the plot is not much different from the original, it did make it a tad difficult to follow at times. I wish they would have focused more on only a part of the story, instead of trying to squeeze so much of MSP plot into two parts.

Or I’d like it even better if they did a completely different plot for this multiverse. Like keep the role switch and all, but give us a different plot. Can you imagine if band leader Tinn was the one having a crush on school president Gun? And having him try his best to impress Gun while still being a troublemaker? Wouldn’t that be adorable? And new. There was a lot of potential, but it didn’t quite reach it.

Also, is it just me or does it feel less lively? I feel like the energy of the band is really low in comparison with the main series. Could it be just due to the fact they tried to cram so much into 2 episodes? Or the fact that Fourth was really bouncing of the walls in MSP and everyone just had to keep up with it? Even the fights between Sound and Win seem less explosive than they did in the main series. It’s almost like they kept the same energy that their characters had in the main series, so Tinn as band member seems a lot more calm, and Sound is less aggressive than Win was in MSP.

The new OSTs are great. We are really getting spoiled by new music each week. I know music is important for MSP, but I feel it was a bit too much. We only got two episodes, so having multiple long singing scenes seemed a bit excessive to me.

The ending though... does this really mean we are saying goodbye to Tinn and Gun forever? Or is that a teaser for the MSP universe, university edition?

Fourth and Gemini can save even the stupidest of ideas

When I saw the teaser for the Our Skyy episodes of My School President, I almost cried. Yes, that might have been a big over-reaction, but let me explain.

I absolutely adore My School President. It is one of my favorite BLs ever. It’s not perfect at all, but it has a very special place in my heart. And that is mainly because of Fourth and Gemini. They were amazing in the show, had fantastic chemistry and are just so cute that you cannot help but smile at whatever they do. So yes, I’m very emotionally attached to both Gemini and Fourth as well as Tinn and Gun. I spent hours, imagining what the Our Skyy episodes would be about. Maybe a time skip to them in college? Maybe they’re preparing for another music contest? Maybe the band is getting more successful and Tinn is feeling insecure about all of Gun’s fans? Those are only a few ideas I had. And then I saw the teaser, and I wanted to scream. Making this into a role reversal storyline was, in my opinion, a really stupid thing to do. We got attached to the characters of Tinn and Gun, and were eager to see a continuation of their story. But what we got is the same story, apparently set in a parallel universe, where the roles are reversed. What a let-down. And despite my urge to cry and scream at my wishes not being fulfilled, I was excited for the episodes to air. Because I already knew I would be smiling like an idiot as I watch Gemini and Fourth work their magic yet again.

I was right.

I still don’t like the concept of this role reversal. Not even slightly. It’s not interesting, it doesn’t add anything meaningful to the original story or the characters. It feels like a fanfic someone wrote, because they wanted it to be GunTinn instead of TinnGun. It’s dumb and useless and I freaking loved every second of it. And that is one hundred percent because of Fourth and Gemini. It felt really weird seeing them in the opposite role, but they still nailed it. They brought their natural cuteness, chemistry and comedy to these two episodes, and turned a stupid concept into a super enjoyable spin-off. Would I have preferred a meaningful continuation of the original story? Absolutely. Am I going to rewatch these two episodes 100 times? Absolutely.

If you liked My School President, you’re probably going to like this, even if at first you think you might not. I liked how Tiw and Por were given more screen time here. They’re really cute together. The whole cast is doing as great of a job as they did in the original series, making this a very enjoyable experience despite the silly concept. It also makes you appreciate how well they cast the actors in their original roles, because this definitely feels off in all the right ways. None of these guys are perfect actors yet (some a bit weaker than others), but for this kind of series it’s definitely more than good enough. The music is still great too. And on top of all this, these two episodes were refreshingly self-aware. It felt almost like a parody of the original show (and other BLs/tropes) in certain moments, and that only added to my enjoyment. Gun talking about how maybe in a different universe, he was more courageous, was a bit too on the nose for me, but I still appreciated the humour of it all. It hurt a little how some of TinnGun’s iconic lines were given to other couples/characters, but at the same time, I enjoyed them doing that. The dance sequence was too long and felt incredibly awkward due to the choreography. It would've felt much more sincere had they just sticked to regular slow-dancing.

I would rate this a 10 if I didn’t hate the idea behind it so much. Not an objective 10, but a very subjective 10, because I can’t stop smiling at Fourth and Gemini. They’re absolute pros at cuteness overload. However, I can’t rate this a 10, not only because I disliked the concept, but also because within the two episodes, certain things didn’t make a lot of narrative sense. For example, the whole conflict between Tinn and Gun in episode two, felt extremely stupid, considering nothing severe had actually happened between them. Gun being unable to tell Tinn he likes him didn’t warrant such a reaction in my opinion. Then again, they only had two episodes and needed to push the story forward somehow, so I’ll excuse this at least to a certain degree.

If you’re looking for a more objective review than that, maybe read some others, because I’m heavily biased when it comes to these two.

All of this being said, I want to pose one question: What the hell was going on in that writer’s room for Our Skyy 2?
Either they were drunk, high, or purposefully trying to make this series as fanfic-y as possible. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, I love fanfiction! It’s just that they chose to execute most of it like a badly written fanfic. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bad Buddy episodes were about Pat and Pran flying to Mars, where they get sucked into a wormhole that sends them to yet another parallel universe, where everything is gender-swapped and the BL turns into a GL. And maybe in the episodes about A Tale of Thousand Stars, Tian is revealed to be the long lost prince of a magical mountain realm of elves, and he needs to claim his position as royalty with Phupha acting as his bodyguard. And Gun and Cher are probably gonna accidentally swap bodies while sneezing at the same time, thus making the boss the babe and the babe the boss. Anything is possible at this point.

EDIT: I saw the teaser for the A Boss And A Babe episodes, and I wasn’t far off!

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

Honestly, it was a bit disappointing. MSP was one of the stories that I'm really looking forward to in Our Sky season 2. Watching the first episode is already disappointing. I was thinking of dropping the story halfway, but my love for GeminiFourth and my guilty conscience won't let me.

After watching the teaser, I thought what I'm going to see was the characters waking up in different bodies, but I was wrong. Still, Alternate Universe sounds fun, and I could get the chance to see GeminiFourth and other characters in different roles too.

Since, they're all different people, I didn't expect much from their acting. But while watching, I couldn't help but compare the previous characters of MSP and the scenes as well. They wanted to show us an alternate universe, then so be it. But the acting, dude, the ACTING. It feels like they're lacking emotions and feel something's missing. I think it would be better if they just stick to their roles. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of GeminiFourth and I also shipped the other couples. Yet, I still had to spend my time watching the episodes for 4-5 times for me to like it, just like what I did before.

The jokes are not fun, but it's awkward. I was eager to see Lion win Hot Wave because in MSP they didn't get the chance to win hot wave, but they didn't. I wondered, did the staff just use this as an opportunity to promote a new song or advertise? Tinn singing in the first episode was fine, but the MV part is a NO. 4 minutes was enough to show the audience a romantic scene for all the couples. For example, going on a trip or an amusement park, husbands dating their wives. Isn't that better?

Another thing, Alternate Universe doesn't always mean that the scenes would always be the same. They are different characters, have different lives, and different ways of thinking. They should've added more scenes that were different from MSP, to make it more interesting and fun to watch. Just what are the screenwriters doing? And why would the director even approved the script? Is the reason really because Gemini was a talented person but didn't got the chance to show his talent?

Come to think of it, it would be more exciting to watch if their souls exchanged and woke up from different bodies. That would be chaotic and fun. Or a sneak peek of their college life, GeminiFourth living in the same dormitory, doing what couples do, and showing everyone's characters development.

All in all, I'm still happy seeing GeminiFourth together and their friends in one frame. Anyway, I wanted to thank the staff for giving us the chance to see them once again, although I didn't enjoy the story that much. :)

My School President No More

There is one reason and one reason only these two episodes are getting as high a rating as they are and that is solely because of the cast. I had serious concerns after seeing the trailer for MSP and those concerns were absolutely valid. MSP was one of the dramas that had a lot of places it could be taken, so to have them choose to do an alternate universe with essentially the same story, just some roles switched, felt indescribably lazy, not to mention boring. This special could have been so much more than it was and I'm truly sad at the lost opportunity.

I cannot even begin to explain how lazy the premise of this felt. I know I've already said it once, but seriously. They could have jumped to them in college or after college though age wise that would have been a stretch or, heck, the summer after they graduate. Just about anything else they could have come up with would have been more interesting and creative than what we got. It's not a word for word or scene for scene copy, but it's close enough that I struggled to stay invested because it's already been done.

Everything felt rushed, probably because they were trying to fit a 12 episode drama into two episodes. It also felt choppy for that same reason. The lack of continuity made it feel like we were jumping from one scene to the next. There needed to be a bit more filler to join everything together. I also felt like the quality was just lower. The music was great as always, but there were multiple times where the instrumental parts overwhelmed the vocals to the point they were very hard to hear. And while in MSP it at least looked like they were actually performing live, I didn't get that same impression here. It really just seemed like they were lip syncing and quite obviously too. There was also the ballroom dance exam scene which dragged on far too long and it was painfully clear they hadn't had nearly enough time to practice because their movements were so stiff and clunky. There just wasn't any smoothness or grace in the moves and transitions.

I haven't felt the product placement thus far was super obvious or annoying in Our Skyy 2, but I felt it in these episodes and it was annoying. The commercials are more than enough, blatant camera shots of products are not necessary and they just detract from the quality.

Now when I say the cast was the one saving grace, I am not even kidding. They were literally the only reason I persisted through both episodes. They are all so charismatic and engaging , but even they seemed to be lacking the energy that was present in the drama. Everything felt a bit subdued. Don't get me wrong, they still did a good job with their various roles, it just wasn't as strong as MSP where they pretty much all rocked their characters.

I think I really noticed the off energy with Sound and Win. They were such firecracker characters in MSP and here it seemed like the fire had gone out of them and they were shadows of their alter universe egos. Same with Tinn and Gun to an extent. They just didn't have that same spark. Part of it with them, I think, is that Fourth and Gemini didn't seem at home in their alternate characters. That could just be my perception, though. Fourth just has that mischievous, chaotic energy that really lent itself to the character of Gun in MSP. And while Gemini certainly has his own mischievous moments, he lacks the same chaotic energy and appearance wise, he comes across as more mature. I'm sure they had a lot of fun swapping roles, but I didn't find it fully believable. I did like that Tiwson and Por got to be realized as a fully fledged couple. Their interactions were adorable and I'm happy they got more screen time. I do think trying to throw in Khajorn and Phat as another couple, albeit more of just a suggested one, was unnecessary. Honestly, and absolutely no offense to Aun as an actor, but they could have just removed Khajorn completely and nothing would have been missed. He just didn't add that much other than showing how his alternate universe character is a complete 180 from his MSP character.

The one other aspect that I actually quite enjoyed was the inclusion of other BLs in their MV there at the end. I thought that was cute and clever. He's Coming To Me is on my list of dramas to watch so I didn't catch that reference, but Bad Buddy and Tale of Thousand Stars were obvious and fun to see.

These episodes have some cute and funny/cheesy moments. They do change some things up so it's not a carbon copy of MSP, but if they wanted to go with an alternate universe story, there were so many more creative ways they could have gone about it. And that really is the biggest thing for me. It lacked the originality, the fun, the creativity, the very vibrancy of MSP and instead what we got was a shallow facsimile of the original. I didn't hate it, but neither did I love it and I think I'll always be left thinking of what could have been.

Multiverse of cuteness? Call Multivese of SHIT

Can't believe that I'm officially saying goodbye for TinnGun and My School President. And what hurts the most: WITH THIS BADLY DID SHIT.

I'm so disappointed. The idea of Multiverse of Cuteness is creative but in the end... NO ONE CARES. NOBODY ASKED. I just wanted my TinnGun one last time, and they just did this bullshit. If they at least were serious about this, but damn, everything was so ridiculous, even the cast was doing for funsies, everything was for funsies, and damn: that was bad.

They just did this to promote new merch and that broke my heart bcs TinnGun are so sweet, so cute. They deserved SO MUCH MORE, maybe a story about them in university, idk, SOMETHING?!!! ANYTHING but not this.

It's really so ridiculous. I'm so mad. TiwsonPor was adorable, and the MV with references to P'Aof series was very cute, but so unnecessary if you think about it, they did it FOR WHAT?

I watched 3 of the Our Skyy 2 (I still have to watch the original series of some of them) and really, MSP was the most badly done of them, and I'm SO upset. Really, I know that I probably sound mad but I'm actually upset and sad FOR REAL. MSP was such a sweet and important thing to me and they kinda messed up everything. GMM I'M GOING TO SEE YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND I HAVE WEAPONS.

EVEN THE SONGS ARE SO MID, while MSP delivered the cutest OSTs and covers, this Our Skyy delivered mid (bad) songs. Oh my god, why did they do this to me???? I'M SO UPSET.

My review for each section of this series is based on the following criteria:
- Did it add anything to the original series
- Was there either an absence, advance, or regression of character/couple development
- Was the story concept interesting
- Script quality

Did it add anything to the original storyline? No, but that was the point with this section. I have to admit I was nervous about the alternate universe concept, but it was done very well. They did a great job with altering the storyline just enough to keep it interesting but still mirror the original. It was also cool to see the character role reversals. Just like the original series, the actors did a good job considering that many of them are still new. It also had really great music. The only complaint was the dance scene in the first episode. While it was cute, it was very clear they did not get enough time to practice the choreography. The actors looked awkward and stiff during the entire scene.

Random Note:

It was brilliant to incorporated three couples from previous BL series (He's Coming to Me; Bad Buddy; A Tale of Thousand Stars) into the music video.

Was that a hint of a possible second session at the end? One can only hope.

Lost in the Multiverse of Disappointment

I'm writing this review because I was left very disappointed by this special.

My School President is one of my favorite GMMTV BLs not only because of the chemistry and dynamic of the main couple but also because of the friendship plotline that brings the meaning of the series to a whole new level.

After reading the plot of this, I was interested to see how they would adapt all of my favorite scenes and if they would bring something new to the table. I'm not familiar with the "multiverse" tag, but I would watch everything as long as there's TinnGun starring in it.

From the start, everything about the writing seemed lazy and messy. They adapted some scenes from the original series without trying to give this special a logical sense, timeline, or story on its own. A few had no business being adapted, in particular the scene where Gun's mom collapses and is taken to the hospital by Tinn. That scene serves as a turning point in the story, and it's very sentimental. Here, they just mock it by making Tinn's mom casually sleep on the floor. How is that supposed to make me feel? Why did they even include it in this special if they just forgot about it seconds later? They completely ruined its significance.

Also, am I the only one upset that Tinn and Gun didn't kiss? They made the side couple share a kiss, but not the main one? I'm not that mad because they were sweet and slow-paced in the original, but it just felt like their relationship regressed and they didn't develop it at all. The side couples were given more screentime and overall had better scenes.

Another thing I'm not okay with is the fact that they seem to have forgotten what made My School President popular in the first place. It is a story about friendship, chasing your dreams, and learning to overcome failure, and overall, it is much more than what this special reduced it to.

The only scene I truly enjoyed was the music video in the last episode. I liked how they referenced the other BLs, but it seemed out of place and random. I can only imagine how confused someone who hasn't watched any of the series referenced would be.

Until the last moments, I hoped they would include a few minutes where we see Tinn and Gun in the original universe. Maybe a glimpse of their university life, but they decided to give us nothing.

In conclusion, Our Skyy 2: My School President fell short of expectations with lazy writing and mishandled important scenes that took away from what made the original series special, leaving me feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.

My opinion on Our Skyy 2, MSP so far

To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the body switch and that’s for one reason. When I heard about Our Skyy2 and My School President being involved, I was so excited and that’s because I couldn’t wait to see their story continued. I wanted more cute scenes or an extra storyline and I had all of that built inside of my head so when I saw it was reversed I was very disappointed. It was a great idea and I totally get why you would really love / enjoy it. I just didn’t like that I was watching the same series but mashed up and with reversed roles. Of course there are extra songs and scenes but personally it just wasn’t for me. I don’t think I’ll be watching episode 2..

Even in the Multiverse of Cuteness, Some Things Stay the Same

After watching the trailer for Our Skyy 2 x MSP and knowing it would be like some sort of AU where not only Tinn and Gun roles are switched, but also some of their friends as well I can't wait to watch how they cram all of the storyline of MSP into 2 special episodes. I thought it would play out the same exactly as the series with same lines and same situations only with different characters. Boy I was wrong, and I'm glad I was wrong.

The dynamics felt new and fresh to me, and a bit weird too sometime. You get to see Gun being reserved and have his insecurities more prominent, you get to see Tinn when he doesn't have any expectation to fulfill and free to do what he wants. Tiwson slacking around because he doesn't have to go all the way to help his best friend date his crush, Por who takes up that role feels so much more like an evil schemer.

I do sometimes feel a bit weird watching it though. We all know this is just a movie, these boys are just acting and playing their characters. Perhaps if this were a different series, I might enjoy more of their performance. But since I already watch the original, watching this OS2 x MSP sometimes felt like trying to push a piece of a puzzle but not in the correct place. There are times I'm thinking like "no, wait, he wasn't supposed to act like that, that's so weird and out of character." Then it hit me, what feels very weird is because the premise is only that they swapped their roles but not their personality.

Tinn is chaotic. Even in the original MSP he always has this out of box ideas (even if sometime Tiw helps him with it). His role as a school president, gave him some opportunity to act out all his crazy chaotic ideas while at the same time keeps him grounded a bit since he needs to maintain some composure as a school president. That is why in this special, where he is the supposedly in the music club as a free students, he is more unhinged in his stupid act (and also cuteness). A chaotic Tinn as a music club president also mean that he would not give too much thought about the no dating rules, hence he can act faster on his feelings. If only at that time Gun aren't afraid to say it to him

Gun on the other hand seems to always be well-ordered. He takes his responsibility as the music club president as best as he can. He tries to win the competition for his senior, trying to keep all of his clubmates in order and together, he doesn't even try to secretly date before the competition is over, plus he take responsibility by helping his mom at the shop too. Put him in the role of a school president and you'll see him becomes more reserved with his feelings that in turn makes him prone to more outburst when things doesn't go as his plan. In this universe, he almost did not go through with his feelings since he think too much of their difference and how he is sure it can not work out at the end. He is always the type that needs some reassurance from others before able to take his own steps.

Their roles are a perfect fit for their personality in the original series and that's why watching it like this feels like putting a different gear in a machine then expect it to work as it should. The only way to really enjoy watching this MSP special, is by letting go as far as you can about the original series and take this a new movie with a very similar plot and actors on it.

P.S. I freaking loved the new MV! Very surprised when they referencing other BLs in the love story even with the same costume and sets.

tinn in the streets gemini in the sheets

I have been waiting to write that line down. Okay I don't rate special episodes, but its Our Skyy, so I will let it slide. Really strong start with the first episode. And I feel like if i watched the last part of the 3/4 I would have rated it higher, but I didn't, so what can I really do. But i was expecting more from the ending. What more, I don't know, but I wanted more. I think this was really lighthearted and fun, just the kind of energy I needed, because I ate my school president up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everyone found love in one timeline or another so we are content. Uh my boy Mark and Gemini were the only ones who did not fit their roles in this. Everyone else did a good job. And I love that for them. My boys Sound and Win, they flipped but it still had the same energy needed. Okay I have started Love Syndrome so lets do this. okay bye!

MULTIVERSE AT ITS FINEST!

MY OH MY. Multiverse series are really the best isn’t it? WHEN I SAW FOURTH CHANGE ROLE WITH GEMINI, i literally scream. LIKE OH MY GODDDDD!!!!! Very creative plot and I like how they change the character to suit the plot since it is a multiverse plot. Just a little bit to complain, I feel lile Gemini’s acting in these 2 episodes a little bit plain and there is lack of seasoning. Maybe its just me but I still love them tbh! ❤️
