Currently Watching: A Business Proposal

Hello everyone!

Through this article, I will be introducing you to the popular airing SBS drama A Business Proposal starring Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Se Jeong, Kim Min Gyu, and Seol In Ah.

Before I continue with the article, here's a little backstory:

When they announced the webtoon adaptation I was excited about 3 reasons:

Ahn Hyo Seop
Kim Se Jeong
Rom-Com

Both Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Se Jong have had some very good dramas in the past, and I was enthralled by the fact that it was them, two of my favorite actors, opposite each other. Earlier in 2022, when I was in a never-ending loop of dropping dramas, Business Proposal proved to be the small ray of hope I needed to renew my interest in dramas. In short, watch it!

Synopsis

Shin Ha Ri agrees to go on a blind date as Jin Young Seo, her best friend, with the intention of ruining it, unbeknownst to the fact that her date is Kang Tae Mu, the newly elected CEO of the company Ha Ri works at. Tae Mu is a workaholic and gets annoyed by the countless blind dates set up by his grandfather, hence deciding to marry the next woman he meets on a blind date.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m pretty sure almost everyone who watches dramas has heard about this trending drama that has made people wait for Mondays like never before.

I really wish I could attach an entire episode or rather all the episodes because that's how much of a fun ride it is. Take it from someone who nearly lost interest in dramas, this light-hearted rom-com with all the clichéd tropes is exactly what you need.

Some obvious reasons why you should watch it

A very lovable cast

All the actors are exceptionally good and shine in their respective roles. They all have a unique charm that brings about many shades in the characters they play.

Includes our most beloved tropes

There are many clichés in this drama, but will that stop us from watching it? Absolutely not! Whether it is a rich guy falling for the not-so-poor girl or vice-versa or an office romance or a contract relationship, it has got 'em all. And you'll love every bit of it. Moreover, as it is going at the right pace, you don’t have to wait a long time to see things get right.

Great chemistry

Whether it is Ha Ri and Tae Mu or Young Seo and Sung Hoon, the chemistry between these couples is so strong and always oozing out of the screen. Although I love both couples, I have a special leaning towards the HaTae couple. The way they look at each other with so much fondness gets me every time. Further in the latter half, when Tae Mu is madly in love, he never misses an opportunity to tell Ha Ri how pretty she is. *sigh* If all that doesn't result in unrealistically high expectations of men, what will?! Also, if you're doubting the amount of cheesiness, trust me when I say that it has just enough for us to take in and enjoy.

It's not always just between the pairs, there is also a ton of bromance and sismance that can't be missed.

Comedy

I'm not sure if this actually counts as a reason, but it's my favorite thing about the drama. Comedy is deemed funny only if it's done at the right time in the right way, and Business Proposal nails both. Whether it's the chaotic turn of events, sound effects, or the actors' expressions, it is comedy at its peak.

Soundtrack

So far, there are nine songs released and one special track by MeloMance, that also have a cameo in the 3rd episode. As much as I love them all, Love Maybe and Fall in Love will always hold a special place in my heart.

Easily binge-watchable

Unfortunately, there are only 12 episodes to this wonderful masterpiece of a drama. With 3/4th already done, it makes it perfect for a binge-watch. The best part? You don't have to suffer like the rest of us did, Wednesdays through Sundays, waiting earnestly for Mondays and Tuesdays so we could experience an hour of comedy, romance, bliss, and joy indescribable.

So, drop everything you're doing and start it now!
