Meanwhile, the fantasy exorcism K-drama "Island" - starring Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon as the main leads - is all set to premiere on December 29.
The story starts with Won Mi Ho (Lee Da Hee) - an egoistic and selfish heir of the Daehan Group whose mistake causes her to be sent to Jeju Island. There, she begins working as an ethics teacher for high-school children. But unfortunately, instead of leading a peaceful life on the beautiful island, she gets involved with ghosts and evil forces. Her only shot at survival is joining hands with the island people who have the power to tackle the evil forces.
At first, the role of Won Mi Ho was offered to Seo Yea Ji. But on May 4, 2021, the actress's agency released a statement confirming her withdrawal from the series.
The posters of the K-drama have a dark and ominous look correlating to the genre and storyline of the show. "Island" is a webtoon-based adaptation of the same name and will contain six episodes.
