Highlight's Lee Gi Kwang will finally return to acting after five years.
On May 12, media outlet Star News revealed that Lee Gi Kwang will be joining the upcoming fantasy romance K-drama Marry My Husband.
Marry My Husband will be based on the popular web novel of the same name by Sung So Jak. It will tell the story of a wife who got killed by her husband who's having an affair with her best friend. Because of an instance, she got to return to 10 years ago and she will take revenge against them.
The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Park Won Gook (Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist) and written by Shin Yoo Dam (Awaken).
It will be led by Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung, and Song Ha Yoon.
Lee Gi Kwang will portray the role of Baek Eun Ho. He is the owner of a cafe and the first love of Park Min Young's character, Kang Ji Won.
Marry My Husband will begin filming in the first half of 2023. The release date and broadcast channel are still under discussion.
This K-drama will be the grand comeback of Lee Gi Kwang to acting. The idol actor last starred in the 2018 series Lovely Horribly with Park Shi Hoo, Song Ji Hyo, Ham Eun Jung, Choi Yeo Jin, and Ji Seung Hyun.
Just last month, Lee Gi Kwang release his first full-length solo album. Aside from his individual activities, Lee Gi Kwang is still active as a Highlight member.
Lee Gi Kwang made his acting debut in 2009. He has starred in several K-dramas such as My Princess, Me too, Flower!, Twenty Years Old, Mrs. Cop, Monster, Momin's Room, Circle, and more.
