On July 24, media outlet YTN shared an exclusive report revealing that Joo Jong Hyuk will be the male lead of the upcoming K-drama The Confidence Man KR. Just recently, it was also reported that actress Park Min Young will be the female lead of the upcoming series.
Joo Jong Hyuk's agency hasn't given their official statement yet regarding the casting news.
If Joo Jong Hyuk decides to join, this will be his first ever leading role since his debut. The actor has been active in the industry as a supporting role in different genres like romantic comedy, law, action thriller, and more.
The actor started his acting career in 2018. Since then he has starred in several films and K-dramas.
Joo Jong Hyuk is known for being part of the works Frankly Speaking, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Happiness, Yumi's Cells, The Veil, D.P., and more.
Aside from The Confidence Man KR, Joo Jong Hyuk will also appear in the upcoming K-dramas Unmasked, Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2, and The Witch,
The Confidence Man KR will tell the story of three credit scammers known as the "Confidence Men." They extort money from people by any means with bad desires such as evil companies, mafia bosses, and more. It will be the Korean remake of the 2018 Japanese drama The Confidence Man JP.
The K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Nam Ki Hoon (Big Bet and Destined with You) and writer Hong Seung Hyun (Criminal Minds).
According to reports, Joo Jong Hyuk got the offer to portray the role of a credit fraudster and will work closely with Park Min Young's character.
