tvN's Mr. Queen maintains its position as the top-rated drama for its timeslot!
Another increase in viewership ratings on the latest episode of Saturday-Sunday drama Mr. Queen starring Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun. The drama has been on the top spot for several weeks now and viewers are continuing to take an interest.
On January 17, Mr. Queen recorded an average of 13.2 percent nationwide and 14.6 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area for episode 12. The drama achieved first place for its time slot across all channels. In particular, their popularity is evident by obtaining the top spot with viewers of all ages from teenagers to those in the 50s (except men in their 30s). This is based on paid platforms, incorporating cables, IPTVs and satellite data provided by Nielsen Korea.
The latest episode of the drama portrayed the feast of Suritnal, a traditional Korean holiday that happens on the 5th day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. They showcased the preparations in the palace and the feast itself. They also revealed another amazing cooking scene of the queen which brought laughter. It was then followed by the crisis of King Cheol Jong.
Meanwhile, other dramas that aired on the same day also got fair ratings. OCN's The Uncanny Counter starring Jo Byung Kyoo and Kim Se Jeong received an average nationwide rating of 9.9 percent. TV Chosun's The Goddess of Revenge starring Kim Sa Rang and Yoon Hyun Min aired its final episode which received an average rating of 2.9 percent.
It is expected that Mr. Queen will surpass its current ratings as more viewers take interest in the unique plot of the historical drama, as well as the excellent skills of the actors.
